  1. I've been able to get in and post....but as always ...it's the horrible 45 second pauses/loading stuff that makes me give up and browse elsewhere.
  2. I did not know they offered that. I will have to check that out. Thanks for mentioning that!! They make you jump through a few hoops (DD forms) but you get the latest and greatest. Being Academic there are a lot of things that won't work but still, you get quite a bit
  3. The challenge is on them to put something on the market at a good price point
  4. That's a neat graph I've used SolidWorks Academic ($20 per year for military veterans) and it can do quite a bit. I found some decent tutorials on YouTube and Lynda.com
  5. I know this is only a wish list....but please make something that can print large Could care less about dual extruders (make it an option?) The Olsson block and ability to use many filament types with no hassle....like the UM2+....
  6. Did you have to build an enclosure to trap the heat? Those materials, do you have to deal with fumes ? Or do you have a fume /air filter?
  7. Yes, any automation that makes it a bit easier would be great. I know I have forgotten to make the change (multiple laptops...I forget)...and then see the printer immediately starting to print when the nozzle isn't even heated up....first clue it isn't set to Marlin!
  8. Just a thought... I see in the Manage Printers , Connect Octoprint, there is a Note that advises to change gcode flavor. After assisting someone is getting theirs to work, could a small edit be made to this note? Perhaps stating it a bit more precisely.... "Note: Printing Ulticode using Octoprint does not work. Please switch you gcode flavor under "Machine Settings" and set to Marlin" ? (You say FLAVOUR in the note and FLAVOR in the Machine Settings) Also, could some intelligence be added to the "Print with Octoprint" button to check the gcode has been changed? Thanks!
  9. And what settings worked for you, so others can learn from you!
  10. Well it's not the free Ultimaker 3 I had hoped for....but I'll take it
  11. Maybe, maybe not...someone in here always seems to find a way
  12. I can't reveal the other platforms we tested (perhaps @Sandervg can)...but you'll be happy to know everything we sampled was really good. And stuff you have seen on other sites, etc. Yes, this font is awful and the image upload process is archaic. It'll get better!
  13. I haven't [dared] try regular NinjaFlex (yet) but would be curious what you find out.
  14. We didn't have quite that much time to hammer all the entries with such a varied series of tests. I know for me, the biggest thing was ease of use, quick load time, pleasing to the eyes to view content and so on. I think a lot of the technical testing you are suggesting is easily taken care of by the vendor, based on the widespread use of the software elsewhere.
  15. This won't make me popular buuut.... For way less money, a Creality CR-10 can do an amazing job. I was skeptical and bought one, since Ultimaker (still) does not have a large scale printer available. I have several hundred hours on an unmodified CR-10 (cost $380) and is doing some incredible prints. The Tevo Tornado is a bit more, has a faster heating bed (AC powered) and better print surface for about the same money too (haven't tried one yet).
  16. Good suggestion....nothing pending, just Spotify playing in the background (trying to wake up still!) Incognito is a good idea, too.
  17. You're certainly entitled to your opinion and you've made some interesting comments. I don't entirely agree with many of them but I appreciate the lively discussion that follows. I am pleased that machines like the UM2+ and UM3 are very user friendly. For the price tag, you get a lot and ready to go out of the box. I'm not nearly the tweaker/tinkerer you are, so I can't speak intelligently about the patent issues you mention. I don't feel Ultimaker is following the same path that MakerBot took. My suggestions to Ultimaker seem to be listened to ...and I feel they are working on them. The slowness of this forum, the lack of documentation/tutorials/videos on new versions of Cura and so on... The community is what brought me to the Ultimaker in 2013, knowing there was so much support available from staff and other customers. Seeing the forum get so laggy and slow has been frustrating and makes browsing them painful. But, I patiently sip my coffee and wait a minute for each page to load...just like the old dial up internet days! I hope you aren't going anywhere, I certainly like tapping into your vast knowledge.
  18. For whatever reason, with Google Chrome, I can not download the or "click" on any of the links on that page (https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura) If I pop it open in Firefox, I can. If I purge my cache it will work....but just wanted to report it, since it seems a bit weird those links worked a week ago, but not now. I'm curious if any other Chrome users have that trouble?
  19. Could you please add some details to your response? You ask the community for feedback but when we ask questions, we are left with vague responses like this.
  20. Where is the Print Quality Slider? I am not seeing it....?
