  1. Well, how about Ultimaker coffee mugs? But you understand the ideas being presented. You certainly have a core bunch of forum visitors and a few that appear when they have an issue. And while construction on the forum happened at a bad time, there are plenty of ways to lure people back. One thing that impresses me about this forum is that staff respond, both to Private Messages and when tagged in posts. Help arrives soon. You should emphasize that.
  2. I'd have to ask the group, like @SanderVG I know GR5 continues to advise slower and hotter, so I have been going with 215C and 40 mm/sec. But again, every filament is a bit different on the sweet spot for temperature
  3. I've had good look going to 4.7 I put it back to 4.5 recently, not seeing much difference But can't hurt to try
  4. I agree. Things like a monthly Show Your Print, Best Add-Ons for the Ultimaker printers and so much more. Everyone likes Free Filament! Ultimaker loves to showcase unique projects on their site, this should help provide many more
  5. That's good news, good luck in your not-building project!
  6. Let me chime in...I haven't had any problems with the included SD card either. My only complaint is it will not sort by newest file, if I modify a print in Cura then export to the SD Card, it doesn't move to the top of the SD Card menu [on the Ulticontroller] Although i was thinking about buying a second SD card, should this one fail. But the smallest ones I find are 8gb. Will the Ulticontroller see an 8gb card? D o we have to format it or partition it down to a smaller size? @SanderVG ?
  7. I still get those every now and then. Less frequently than before.
  8. I hate it when he does that It looks like the reviewer wasn't aware of the dual extruder news/changes from a few months ago. But what I really like seeing is fresh, out of the box and printing reviews. Especially someone very new to printing, as he was.
  9. You guys have a very good point. I completed the remainder of the white pieces with the Dutch Orange filament from ColorFabb. Using the tips @gr5 has consistently given, I printed at 0.15 layers and found 40 mm/sec and 218 C to work best. Anything cooler just didn't stick well on the first few inches of the skirt. I've shipped the 29 pieces I have completed to my friend to clean up, fill as needed, paint and assemble. I have a few silver pieces to print and I have the ColorFabb Shining Silver I am eager to try out.
  10. I still live ;-) Great to hear! I learned a lot from your posts and glad to see all 9 lives are still functional!
  11. Well at least you know the top 5 for "stirring the pot" !
  12. Nice print...I may give a white filament another try under a different brand. I can not get 100% good prints with the ColorFabb Standard white (same settings, different color, work great!)
  13. I miss his posts, tho. He helped foster some good discussions.
  14. I've had the Jean-Luc Picard look for a few years. Not sure I'd want 3D printed hair
  15. Well, to add to the madness....same settings....Colorfabb Dutch Orange. Comes out perfect.
  16. Well there are some notable, staff contributors I miss hearing from (starts with a D and also has a cat avatar!)
  17. This works quite well, I might add. I was encountering pillowing on some prints recently and increasing the Bottom/Top thickness worked well.
  18. Well another large print in white (Same settings as Cura screenshot a few posts above) 0.15mm layer height 40mm/sec 200 C Check the top and sides...I'm not sure what to make of a few of those spots.
  19. Great read! http://makezine.com/2015/10/27/3d-print-a-motorized-star-wars-at-at/
  20. That was a fantastic read, with a lot of positive improvement points for Ultimaker and customers I was curious about the Bowden tube upgrade, how do you countersink and complete the modifications described? I couldn't sort that out in my mind
