and there's also a smaller version of the builder, saw it at Makerpoint (local store in Arnhem NL, if I remember I think the print quality was nice and I liked the transition of colors ... but the printhead is big and heavy so I would think not a machine for high speeds.

@3Dcase, sounds good .... but looks like they still send delicate materials in an enveloppe i.s.o. a sturdy box ...
-
I get your point but theres more pros too replacing your feeder. Easier cleaning. Changing the fillament with stock feeder leaves a tiny strand of plastic in te feeder/tube sometimes. Atomic is much easier when you can open the feeder. You can easier change color when printing (using pause)......

Man thats bad.... couldn't you ship it ensured? Ive seen a few transport hubs from the inside... things can get rough ...

you have serious underextrusion, nothing to worry about, you need to learn how to fix it anyhow someday .... Start by reading these ... if you still have questions after that feel free to ask again ....

and probably someday you want to print yourself a better feeder, read all about it here;

and... welcome to the forum ...

same fillament, same settings (default PLA), same G-code file, just the good one 2 days ago and the bad one today.... object had in both cases a good bed connection, I used a large brim..
it's an 18 cm by 11 mm tube, so vibrations a probaly causing the bad surface, but I can't explain the difference ...

can't go anywhere these days without bumping into a Ultimaker
GlowNext, eindhoven, light art festival .... glow-in-the-dark dress ..
and some more glow if you like photos.... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uoi8raskxwe7mo2/AACc2sseVYKGidSwYzd4gUpLa?dl=0

Just ask the previous owner ?
Otherwise you could try to push in .4 / .6 / .8 drill bits ....
-
was discussed here; (link to article included)

Ahhggg.. I'll only use the glowfill on my "old" 0.6 nozzle from now on ....
@colorfabb, from the "metal" fillaments I would expect the extra wear, but I think you should really do a UM2 endurance test on the glowfill ...
-
5 minutes to 65c room temp=18c.
-
Hmmm. nice, but I'm on a UM2, how would I keep the bed heated in between colors ?
Best option is probably to combine the Gcodes and include a pauze ... ?
-
main things I would say are;
> the factory feeder is not great, you'll probably get underextrusion someday, print yourself a better feeder, there are many designs, look here;

> the Hot-end-isolator (the white thing in your hot end) will need replacement sometimes, consider it maintenance. The frequency is highly depending on the temperatures you print with. When you print PLA you should not have a problem soon.

Think i saw the screws here.... dont know about quality... only used original um2 parts myself...
-
-
-
no those are UM original, not for UM2.
I do hope for you guys in the US that fbrc8 will soon get spareparts as its really silly to have to order at huge shipping cost. It may have to do with the fact that there are also no spare parts (UM2 nozzle) available in the Netherlands atm ... (look at UM web store).
to get to know the parts of your machine look at the assembly manual here;
https://github.com/Ultimaker/Ultimaker2
-
a negative could be that the 2th part would print over the string of plastic layed down before the start of the first part (between the pile of plastic of the innitial extrusion before printing & the first part).

@Robert, reminds me I have to put on the Wintertires, last weekend still 20 degrees, but now its getting cold..
@Dim3nsioneer > cheers

Search >>
I like the little dropdown search result showing directly. However when I
select one object here and it's not what I want I have to type the search
again, would like to be able to go directly to the other results of this
search (the normal search result page), or at least the search term should
be remembered in the search bar.

- worked perfectly and fast, like it !
- The preview button is hidden behind the download dropdown, please give it
a button on its own.
STL generation >>
I'm very much in favour of promoting the upload of native fgile formats! I
wonder how you deal with the STL generation. I would propose to ONLY
generate STL's if the uploader did not provide any STL file in the total
uploaded batch. I think the designer should be in control to upload an STL:
of a certain quality, and youmagine should only generate STL's when non are
provided. I would propose just a simple check STL upload Y/N and not to
look at filenames as the can be different than in the native file. Another
reason to be reverved with automatic creation is that many native files
contain combined parts for witch it's usually better if the designer
manually decides per part the best printing layout.
Download >>
pressing the download button adds 2 downloads to the counter, its very easy to mess with the ranking, I can just click the button quickly many times to up the counter, just added a few hunderd downloads to one of my own designs in the test system Funny thing is when you leave this design the counter is partially corrected, so it seems the counting per 2 is corrected.
Messages >>
please add a selection / deletion feature and possibly a select all / delete all.
Upload >>
Uploaded a .jpg and .STL, both files uploaded successfully, but the .STL is not showing in the main picture reel, I can preview it successfully from the document tab, but think it should be shown in the main picture reel (item name is test123)
edit: I'm on Win7 / Chrome.

printed a laarman chair at 40% scale.
Rather rough at o.2 layer and high speed.... printquality is very poor...
Scaling down caused little play between the parts so sanding was needed. specially the tiny parts of the top rows came out very bad but I just didn't have the patience to make a better one.
looks pretty nice from a distance
