Seriously... Did you have to include the complete gcode file?

The "olsson block issues" thread is so slow because some idjit included a complete gcode file inline in his post. Might want to limit reaction length somewhat in the future too I think.

Well I'll know soon enough (I hope... no idea when the kit will be shipped, will probably be a couple of weeks I'm afraid). I am planning on going back to the "stock"-feeder to try it. If changing the filament doesn't go as good as hoped I'm sure we'll be able to convince you to finish that re-design

Indeed, I hope someone comes up with something like that... I mean, they obviously listened to the customers about a quick filament change solution... If it was tested and deemed needing a lot of force adding a lock seems fairly easy to add I guess. Guess we'll have to buy the ++-edition for that.

Maintenance wise as well I can imagine.

Since when is it normal practice to push people to the very last browser/os version to have a site work? It up to us developers to make sure that the site works everywhere... What a laziness. I still have a sizeable percentage of people using IE9 on my sites and guess what: It works for them too.

Did some printing this weekend. The printer didn't see any action for quite some time. Haven't had much time with the new house and so on. Printer was constantly under-extruding. Cleaning, vacuuming, greasing, nothing helped. After about 3 restarts of half an hour each I finally realised that I forgot to put my 0.4 nozzle back... It was printing with 0.8 *facepalm*

@neotko Ow I know, my UM2 has a different knurled wheel and I'm already running at a different value. was talking about the reversed stepper rotation.

Where in Belgium are you coming from that you think you need to book a hotel? I used to come from Antwerp and just drive back.

Hmm so not only the e-steps. That kinda sucks as it would force people to go back to the stock firmware. Hopefully the custom ones implement support quickly.

Anyone has an idea if the feeder has the same E-steps value as the original? Or do you have to change that too when you upgrade?

E3D has stainless steel nozzles that fit in the Olsson block btw. Well at least you guys aren't afraid to admit when someone external comes up with a good idea. The Olsson block as default is awesome and the spacer instead of the spring massively improves things for me as well. So in the feeder the roller now has recess space to keep the filament in place and the knurled wheel has changed. Seems like a very good upgrade traction/retraction wise. However: The biggest reason for me to go with a custom feeder was the extremely irritating changing of filament. Give me a quick release any time instead of that painful process. Especially if you just broke the filament or something (it happens!) What was said before is also my impression: This upgrade again focusses more on trying to deliver a better plug and play printer for the less technical/stupid home user. Understandable, but it doesn't get my inner nerd excited The Q&A remark is accurate IMO, when I received mine the wires interconnecting the LED strips were touching the rollers in both corners... I have friction damage on both connections up to the point where you can see the copper. It's a bit of a shame that a device this expensive has stupid issues like that. Slightly off topic: The coolest upgrades for me would be direct drive and and that your heater block fan would turn off at the end of a print. I think 2 is already a reality on the new versions but I'm not going to buy a new printer there. Would also like to see a list with some measured TTLs for the different parts of the printer. It's just that things are starting to squeak and "krrr" on mine (yes I do lubricate everything regularly!) and I wonder if it's about to fall apart. I think a potential buyer might want to know too that his printer will possibly fail mechanically after say 5.000 printing hours (just throwing a number in there)

Looks like nice printers to be honest. I really like the large build volume It isn't on Kickstarter though, it's just the video they released already. I assume the actual campaign comes later.

You know what... This entire discussion is ridiculous. People want to be able to click a button to update the slicing manually and hate that it seems to want to do this when it thinks it should... There are dozens of those people, so its not some lone gunman with an idea on how things should work. Don't drag in those principle arguments. The open source thing where people expect more than they should get because it's open source. The fact that people whine and don't know anything but just "need this for their workflow". The fact that it will hide bugs that you need reported. That you guys know better than people that have been in de software business for over 20 years. Yadiya. Either do it or don't (all the time you've spent arguing about it it could've been implemented a 100 times over), but just stop about it already. It's so f*ing annoying, all this. The only thing you're doing here is treating your customers like "stupid kids" (which they are most definitely not). So whatever. I'm no longer following this topic because I've had it. There's my thought about it.

I'm not planning on sticking around very long though, really early day tomorrow so as for a ride back I also might not be the best candidate.

I really don't get that new Cura version... 1 piece: 12 minutes. 10 pieces? 2 hours? No not really: 10 hours and 49 minutes eta. Wtf?

@nallath: I for one am not complaining about Cura's performance. For me the auto path refresh is purely annoying and its behavior is different from what I expect from the application, that is all. @Titus: Java has a similar issue on Macs now and oracle is refusing to fix it. This is currently forcing me to stick to the previous version of my code editor. Not everything can be fixed by modifying the application itself I guess.
