Winning 3dexpo Make: rook print
By Ultimaker
At the recent 3dexpo event the judges chose the infamous Make: rook as the model for their Clash of the 3D Printers competition. All competitors printed this model, normally used as a torture test for SLA resin printers, at 50mm height without supports. The Ultimaker 2 Go and Ultimaker 2+ won first and second prize in the competition, proving that they're up to printing complex models originally designed for SLA printers. Congratulations to winning competitors 3D Print Station and 3DWiser!
The final printer ranking at the Clash of the 3D Printers was:
1. Ultimaker 2 Go
2. Ultimaker 2+
3. Felix Pro 1
4. Prusa i3 MK2
5/6. Prusa i3 MK2
5/6. Makerbot Replicator 2
Followed by:

I printed these as give aways for some sessions I'm doing at MACUL this year about 3D printing K-6.
The vase file can be found here

All in colorFabb. I really like the vase printed in transparent violet.

Chaos Space Marine 3D Model-3D Printed and Painted
By Gambody_3D
This model was tested in Cura 15.06. To avoid printing problems, we recommend the following settings:
Quality
Layer height: 0.1mm*
Initial layer thickness: 0.3mm
Bottom/top pattern: lines
Skin perimeter line count: 0
Horizontal expansion: 0.04mm (when entering 0.04mm index, the 3D printer perceives the model as monolith, i.e. as having no hidden layers).
*Layer Height 0.1mm is recommended for a better quality for the printed model. However, the printing time will double.
Speed setups:
Infill speed: 50mm/s
Outer shell speed : 30mm/s
Inner shell speed: 20mm/s
Top/bottom speed: 20mm/s
Support speed: 50mm/s
Travel speed: 150mm/s
Skirt speed: 30mm/s
Amount of slower layers: 4
Infill:
Infill pattern: Grid
Line distance: 3mm
Infill overlap: 20%
Infill layers: 0
Support:
Enable support: Check
Placement: Everywhere
Overhang angle: 30°
X/Y distance: 0.7mm
Top distance: 0.2mm
Bottom distance: 0.2mm
Stair step height: 0.5mm
Join distance: 0.7mm
Area smoothing: 0.6mm
Use towers: check
Pattern: Grid
Line distance: 1.5mm
Platform adhesion:
Type: Brim
Brim line count: 10 (up to 20, depending on the model’s height)
Other 3D printing recommendations:
Outer Shell Speed - 20mm/s and Support Speed - 40mm/s settings apply to avoid model deformation. Apply other settings by default.
Disclaimer: This model will look outstanding if printed on SLA/SLS 3D printer. The accuracy of the model printed on FFF printer can vary from the result shown in the pictures.

Groot in Corkfill
By skinny-kid
I took Geoffro's HD bust of Groot and sliced it to get a larger print of his head. Printed in Corkfill from Colorfabb. Print is straight off printed with no post processing and finish is great. Robot in 3rd image is to give you an idea of scale.
Thanks to @Labern for his input after I was dealing with clogs. He recommended nozzle size of at least .6 and increasing flow and disabling retraction. Used .8 nozzle with 10% increase in flow and was able to keep retractions on.

21grams
By neone
This is an update of the 2.1 design.
It's a cube the size of 1 inch and weight of 21 grams, combining 21grams, the symbolic weight of ones soul with a dimension of 1 inch ( Any Given Sunday – Pacino – Peace by Inches /Valerie’s letter from V from vendetta ):
It’s something small, but also an essential thing you can hold on to,
a reminder of those moments, like I mashed them together into this piece.
How to make:
Print a hollow cube the size of 1 inch.
After printing add dirt to the material by creating a small opening on the side till you reach 21 grams..
Close the side with some glue.

Rocketship
By joelmongeon
A spaceship printed and painted for my toddler who loves "wockets"!
This is the gCreate rocket that can be downloaded here: http://www.gcreate.com/#!3d-model---gcreate-rocket/c1k6o
Printed with Colorfabb NGen. I cut off the tip of the rocket and used a hot tool to round it off. I then used a lot (maybe too much) XTC 3D to smooth the layer lines and add strength to the print. Finally used some shiny metallic paint and a layer of shellac to seal the deal.

2.1
By neone
The recent update of cura also mentioned the weight of the object, so this gave me the idea to create this object 2x1 inch, with the weight of 21 grams.
This is an update on a previous handmade 2.1 design.
The previous version was not that accurate compared with 3D printing methods, so here is a 3D printed version of the design.
dimensions: 2x1inch – weight: 21grams – material: PLA
combining 21grams, the symbolic weight of ones soul with a dimension of 2×1 inch ( Any Given Sunday – Pacino – Peace by Inches /Valerie’s letter from V from vendetta )
It’s something small, but also an essential thing you can hold on to, a reminder of those moments, like I mashed them together into this piece.

OpenR/C 1:10 Formula 1 car
By barspin
This is the OpenR/C Formula 1 car. It´s the third generation OpenR/C car and this time around focus is on simplicity! You can print everything in PLA except the tires which are done in NinjaFlex! Of course you can print it in any material you like but for those that want to print a car but only have PLA at hand, this is the project for you!

Icosphere necklace
By viralata
The shape is very simple, an icosphere, but the sanding and the surface of the raw bronzefill make it very beautifull.
Printed in bronzefill, with 0.1mm layer height.
Sanded roughly only on the edges to have a nice contrast between the edges and the faces with lines.
You have to print it twice to have all the parts. It is better not to print at once to avoid blobs.

3D Motivational Message
By LesHall
This is my second attempt at conveying some biblical message in 3D form. Usually we have the standard 2D technique in which an inspirational image is chosen and text is overlaid on top of it. It stands to reason that we can make 3D versions of these and I imagine many exist as created in ceramic or plastic or metal.
My intent here is to come up with a set of 3D printable files that can be passed out to various churches and charities for either 3D printing or otherwise constructing so that they can include them as rewards for fundraising or for service to the people in some way.
This example has a little twist to it. Someone notices it on your desk so you tell them there is text on the bottom. Then when thy read the text ("Faith can move mountains") at that moment you mention that they had to move the mountain to read the text!
It is this kind of interaction physically with the 3D object is rare or difficult in 2D form, yet quite doable in 3D form. Look for more of this kind of thing from my workshop.

Cat-Zilla
By bernhart
This is my most recent print, started as a prop for a theatre play i am working on, ended up as a "Cat-Zilla" Designertoy.
The body was printed on the UM2 with the Olssonblock and it came out pretty much perfect.
The arms were printed separately on my old UM1, same settings only without the olsson block, i instead used a nozzle where i enlarged the hole myself.
i didnt do much posprocessing, a few spots needed some filler but that was it.
hope you like it.
