Philips Led (GU10) lamp holder that fits in ceiling
By yvest
I bought these nice Philips Led lamps couple of years ago and they were supposed to fit into my ceiling where I measured free height of around 8cm which was enough for them to fit. Unfortunately, not every hole did have the same free height so several of them didn't fit. As a result, for a long time those lamps were simply hanging there as I didn't want to buy any new ones (see photo). Having a 3D printer now, I thought of making my own design where the lamps would fit and still look good on the ceiling. Since I like the look of the lamps (and somehow want to be careful about the heat they do produce), I've chosen for an open design. The design consists of 2 parts having a lamp holder and the cover part which you simply push into the ceiling.
I already noticed 2 things with it which I'm sure can still be improved being:
(1) The cover might get little loose since it's just being pushed into the ceiling without any clips or so
(2) The holder / cover does not push the lamp into a straight position necessarily so you need to ensure it's straight manually (combining the holder / cover in a better way could probably solve that) But overall, it does the trick and looks ok to me.
Any suggestions / ideas welcome.

Carbonfiber & woodfill knife handles
By valcrow
Need a new sturdy custom camping knife? Why not save a bunch of money by buying raw blades, and customizing it with your own handles. It's cheaper, custom fit to your hands and you get to 3D print things.

Painted 1986 Unicron
By cloakfiend
I reprinted my unicron model because I felt like painting it, but seeing as I haven't painted minatures in like 25 years i'm not that good anymore the acetoning was also too much and it cracked after spraying for some reason, but it serves its purpose. will do one with led eyes and a battery next after some remodelling.
ive been away too long and feel like i need to start over.....:(

Owl statue with woodfill
My parents kept asking for a print but they didn't want any "plastic". So I gave woodfill another try and it came out quite nice. I'm sure they love this gift.

Inductive Coil
By LesHall
This is an inductive coil that is 3D printed. The first one is ordinary PLA in aqua translucent from Atomic Filament. I have some Functionalize Graphene as well as some Proto-pasta conductive PLA for printing more of them. I did not want to waste the more expensive filaments on a test run for printability and separation potential.
I am happy to report that the coil printed and separated flawlessly. Don't ya just love a quality 3D printer?
Next I will design a core for the magnetic iron hollow cylinder shape. It will have a negative of the coil such that it keeps the turns separate.
Fun!

Hearthstone gift for a friend
By Belmaciel
Tabletop gift, did a crazy 80% fill density for weight, which took several hours for printing. Next time when doing paper weights I'll try hollow with some plaster infill trough the bottom, not worth the material and time. Just an idea...
Painted with primer and acrylics.
