  1. I think porting the engine would be possible, it's the graphical interface that i'm worried about.
  2. They are. I'm pretty sure it will be possible to get the upgrade kit to work for the UM2 go. Just because an upgrade isn't designed for it, doesn't mean its not possible (As if that ever stopped someone ). Some tinkering will be required. You'd have to build the firmware yourself, but we do have a branch for the um2 go +. You can find it on https://github.com/Ultimaker/UM2.1-Firmware/tree/UM2.1_JarJar2go
  3. I think it would be rather difficult to port Cura to IOS.
  4. There is quality control, but I imagine that some tolerances are simply not reachable for a certain price. Yes you can have a nozzle with a 0.4mm size and a <0.01 mm tolerance, but what if you'd have to pay 2-5 times as much for that? Would that be worth it? That's pretty much the dilemma that you always face when making hardware.
  5. Try contacting the people who gave you the customised version. The old cura (15.04) has quite a few issues with Mac, which is why we re-did everything for the new Cura (2.0 and upwards)
  6. Due to the nozzle confusion, the new Cura has a setting called line width. This means that we don't have to change the nozzle size any more when we want to use a different size from the actual nozzle size.
  7. A *.bfb? I've never heard of that extension. What version of Cura are you using?
  8. Draft is a killer for your print quality. I've never noticed PLA smell when the printer was on my desk (next to my laptop).
  9. My german isn't good enough to write it, but I do read it a bit. Asking for disabling auto-slicing isn't useless (asking for any feature isn't useless). But without any good reasons for disabling / enabling / implementing anything, we simply wont do it. I've only heard one or two decent arguments for disabling auto slicing and there are a whole lot of reasons to keep it enabled. If you feel like you have a good reason why it should be disabled, feel free to post / share it.
  10. The profiles are made by 3D printing champion Paul Chandler. I have no idea what is exact process is, but i'm pretty sure he can explain exactly why he made those changes.
  11. It could be that your printer uses different directions for what is up & down.
  12. The retina is messing up a ton of things for Cura. The temperature issues should be resolved in the next build.
  13. I have no idea to be honest. I don't use a mac. As far as I know there should be one in the cura folder.
  14. Yeah I'm on GUI. BagelOrb might know the answer though
  15. Yeah, it's just a tad bit hacky to get it to work. So here goes; You need to have a printer that has more than one extruder (json file). Then there is a setting that tells the engine which nozzle to use for an object. Then use per-object profile to set the nozzle it needs to use to print it with to something non default. After that, merge the objects and you should be good to go.
  16. You're not wrong, that was a bug. Should be fixed for next release though
  17. I expect that these values will be different from one material to another (Due to slip of the knurled wheel)
  18. Not true. You can send it .ini files That's because it's a GUI application, not a command line one Streaming g-code to the printer isn't that hard of a task. I'm pretty sure you can pipe the results from the engine into a serial connection (So a single bash script should do the trick).

    InMoov

Inmoov was actually part of a record attempt at protospace (The birth place of the Ultimaker!). They tried to print the entire robot on a small fleet of Ultimakers that they. I also talked to the creator of the project and he's a great guy!
  20. I've already added a handful of fixes since the 4th of March.
  21. And for those of you that are interested in it; If all goes well it will also be included in Cura 2.2
  22. For those of you who have tested UM software before, it can be found in the usual spot
  23. When you look at Cura for 8 hours a day, you tend to notice those things
  24. There is no difference with respect to settings, but my point was that they are clearly not using the default profile, as the default has print sequence to all at once.
