  1. @DivingDuck, your issue should be fixed in this version. Update: Use the version in the Marketplace instead! The configuration should no longer get corrupted by my plugin. Even better, if your Cura configuration was "corrupt", applying the optimization should uncorrupt it. Finally if the configuration ever gets corrupted because of another reason, the plugin now adds a second button which lets you remove just the affected files instead of nuking the whole configuration:
  2. An issue was identified. It needs fixing.
  3. You could try reducing the Wall Line Count, so more of the model is printed as infill. But yeah, 3d printing large objects takes long.
  4. A workaround is to duplicate and arrange the model in a 3d package, and load that into Cura as a single model.
  5. Try if Cura works with only a single display. If so, you can go to the preferences, and uncheck the option to "Restore window position on start".
  6. ... and many others for printers supporting 1.75 mm filament diameter. No, there is currently no way to delete some of those, unless you want to remove files from the /resources/materials folder in the application bundle (which I recommend you don't). I am working on a plugin that will let you disable all non-generic materials: https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/32126-cura-startup-optimiser-plugin-needs-testers/
  7. No, the current release in the Marketplace (4.0.8) is compatible with Cura 4.6. The view options box is now collapsible too.
  8. What version of Cura is this, and what error do you get? We can't read your mind. Have you considered asking Monoprice for assistance?
  9. Cur 4.5 can be downloaded here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/releases/tag/4.5.0
  10. That is because you have an Ultimaker 2. With the UM2, the idea is that you select the material on the printer, not in Cura. If you want Cura to override what material is selected on the printer, and thus select materials in Cura, go to the Printers pane of the preferences, press Machine Settings, and change the G-Code flavor to Marlin (instead of Ultimaker 2).
  11. Can you try "Activating" one of the other printers using the Activate button? Do the other printers have "Machine Setting" button once they are activated?
  12. Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can work around "lingering" configuration files like that. 10 seconds is a nice speedup though, and it is good to know restoring did that: restore to a working setup.
  13. The Ultimaker 2 and Ultimaker 2 Extended never had materials in Cura by default. This was by design. The Ultimaker 2 introduced the concept of UltiGCode, where you would be able to slice once and print in "any material" selected on the printer. So not having materials available in Cura for these printers is intended as a feature, it is not a bug. At the time, "any material" was mostly just PLA and ABS. Apart from some temperature and cooling (fan) differences, you pretty much use the same gcode files for those materials. The printer would change those settings on the fly. Since then though, Ultimaker has come to the realisation that to really support different materials, you need to slice with different parameters. So with the Ultimaker 2+ and newer, they made it possible to select materials in Cura again. But the feature not to have materials for the Ultimaker 2 has not changed. Note that the Ultimaker 2+ still will not let you change temperatures by default, because you are still supposed to select a material on the printer. I think that is a rather silly situation. It has always been possible to change the gcode flavor from UltiGCode (labeled "Ultimaker 2" in Cura) to Marlin to remove this feature and restore selecting materials for the Ultimaker 2 in Cura.
  14. Could you say what the benefit of this (much more involved) second solution is?
  15. Thanks for the endorsement of my plugin, but it will not do anything for @Anarasha's case. It will only let you quickly toggle the automatic slicing on or off. The Cura developers have hinted on more than one occasion that the arrange models functionality is high on the list of things to rework/improve. Let's hope that it becomes a LOT faster, so that canceling is not even necessary. But having a cancel button there would be better.
  16. You can disable the USB Printing part of Cura and it will no longer touch your USB ports. * Go to "Marketplace" * Go to the "Installed" tab * Scroll down to "USB Printing" * Uncheck the checkbox in front of it * Restart Cura
  17. MeshTools already checks meshes as they are loaded. It is not necessary to check them again, unless you want to check if the "Fix simple holes" function managed to get the model manifold.
  18. @jeson, your model is actually 2 models grouped together. Select the group, right-click and select "Ungroup models". Then click on the inside of the cilinder (selecting one of the 2 models) and either move it out of the way or delete it.
  19. Sure. See Extentions -> Material Settings -> Configure Material Settings Yes, by "removing" (reverting) the setting in the Print Settings tab on the Materials pane of the preferences, with the Material Settings plugin installed.
  20. The Ultimaker 2+ uses UltiGCode by default. With that flavor of gcode, you select what material to use on the printer. The printer also controls the temperatures. If you want to have full access to material settings in Cura (including the temperatures), go to the Machine Settings and change the G-Code Flavor to "Marlin" instead of "Ultimaker 2".
  21. You can do that by installing the Material Settings plugin. It should show you a "revert arrow" if you change a value on the Print Settings on the Material preferences pane. Yes, but only by editing text files, and not for values set per material in the Materials pane of the preferences.
  22. Do you perhaps have another removable drive on your computer?
  23. I am working on another small plugin for Cura. Because there are more and more community members contributing printer profiles to Cura, a lot of configuration files ship with Cura and are loaded into Cura on every start. At present, this has ballooned to around 2000 configuration files that are loaded each time Cura starts up. Once Cura is configured to work with a user's printers, most of the files for other printers are no longer needed. My new plugin lets the user disable loading configuration files for printers that are not currently added to Cura. The caveat is that if you buy a new type of printer, you will have to temporarily restore loading all these files, add the printer to Cura, and reapply the optimization. On my development computer that makes Cura start around 20% faster. I am interested if you see similar numbers. * Download the development snapshot for Cura 4.4 and newer Edit: use the version linked below instead * Drop the file onto the buildplate in Cura, as if you are opening a 3d model * Restart Cura * Go to Extensions -> Startup Optimiser -> Disable loading unused configuration files * Restart Cura again; especially the "Loading Machines" stage should pass noticeably quicker Update: the plugin has been released to the Marketplace. Please use that version instead of any version linked in this thread.
