  1. Check out this article.. on the last page there is a link from Honda to download their new NSX model, as well as a few other 3D models http://cars.uk.msn.com/features/3d-printed-cars-closer-than-you-think#image=15
  2. Why Cant I do it... this website is sooooo frustrating !
  3. Haha Ian that`s funny... oh how I remember being a kid with no worries in life As I was home early yesterday, I managed 3 hours of modelling in Creo....with the trusty UM2 sat next to me doing its thang! I think I am getting PLA fume poisoning ..and I love it ! haha
  4. If you are printing at 230 with the standard blue, I would try dropping to 210 - 200 with the translucent. I`m not an expert by the way, but I did have a 1 meter sample of that PLA and it printed fine at 210.
  5. Celso, Well said and hello.
  6. Didn`t see the exact model, but its a HP designjet ****? The customer I was at said he purchased it a few years ago for £12,000 !! Smaller build plate than the UM2 !
  7. What .. a UM2 ? When I got mine, my first thought was " Wow, quite simple " lol
  8. Had a meeting with a company in Birmingham, I finished the meeting...then dismantled their 3D printer to see what was inside . Didnt feel like going back to the office...so here I am, at home, coffee in hand...wondering what to print
  9. Hi Guys Just wanted to post a few images of a HP printer that I kind of dismantled when nobody was looking earlier today I didn't have much time to really check things out unfortunatly. Here are the feeders at the back, dual tubes as this machine prints support material. This was a great little feature... at the rear of the build bed you can see that shiny object that I have circled in yellow... this is a small wire brush. At various times throughout the print the nozzle`s get thrown into the brush a few times to keep the residual plastic from sticking and clogging the end of the nozzle... snazzy Couple pics of the main unit:
  10. Ian, Solidworks is for children ... I use CREO haha
  11. I have started quite a big project.. which started out as a present for a friends birthday. Although, the more I am working on it, the more I WANT to KEEP it haha. I started a test print tonight, which I was assuming would turn out pretty badly...because I didnt design it particularly well for 3D printing...and I was going to use the part for testing POST work ( Filling, Priming and Painting etc ..we need a tips section on this ). Anyway...the UM2 did its amazing thing and completed this part so well that I could actually use it for the project..although I needed it in silver This part is 110mm high and 80mm diameter. The thing is hollow...no infill !! Apart from a couple of overhang minor errors on the through holes, I am super happy with this print Now to finish the other 100 components....
  12. We can help with ladies lol... we like ladies! haha Nico
  13. Awesome Didier, you have a perfect UM2 My first test had pretty good results, since then I have done a couple more but results were not as good. I think under extrusion is a real mystery and can be effected by so many tiny things, its difficult to put a finger on it! I am sure I could manage a full 10 if i really needed it to
  14. I have to admit, the black does seem a little thicker when it extrudes... i tried some again today and it behaves differently to the UM blue for sure.
  15. Welcome Conz. Your two projects sound pretty interesting
  16. Welcome Rene Yes, watching the printer for hours is my new hobby lol
  17. Hey Anool, Welcome to the forum. Mumbai sounds so exotic 42% duty is terrible !! But sounds like your loving it anyway:)
  18. So many things I could put in that are non 3D related lol... but these could one day be printed I guess Some designs and renders of a pc workstation..
  19. I had a recent delivery of Faberdashery black ( 2 weeks ago ) and have been printing fine at temperatures ranging from 195 - 220. You have measured your nozzle, measure the filament too just to rule that out... maybe its a little thick?
  20. Make the right choice... its ultimaker ofcourse
  21. I would love to see the settings once you have mastered these Aaron. Those cube gears ( and the heart shaped ones ) are pretty cool things !
  22. Aaron, beautiful isn't it Its funny... we all have the same junk sitting in our happy corner photos .. dremels, drill bits, pliers, screws, bolts, washers... bla bla
