  1. If you look closely, you can see my 1-1 scale Terminator Arm that I am building
  2. Thought this was interesting for post processing http://makezine.com/projects/make-34/skill-builder-finishing-and-post-processing-your-3d-printed-objects/ http://www.tinkerines.com/post-process-your-pla-prints/
  3. What a DUMP !! But I love it, I feel like Tony Stark
  4. Devil. I was in exactly the same position as you a month or two ago.. i managed to convince myself to buy the UM2 and I am sooo glad i did. I have had a few issues yes, but nothing major and nothing that this forum and its wealth of knowledge and helpfulness cannot fix. Each day that I play and use the printer.. the more I learn..and the less worried I become that I may BUST something I dont think you`d regret it.
  5. If the part has a nice flat bottom which you " think " would support the upper layers, then I use nothing.. just 60-64 degrees and nothing else... I do often use brim though, just to get the material flowing nicely. At first I was printing everything with 75 degrees and glue and bla bla bla... but nah, keep it simples
  6. That`s a good point woofy! Although I have to say, since building my " Happy Corner " and installing the funkiest printer on the market... I seem to be collecting every single nut, bolt, spring, screw, washer.. bit, bob, every bloody thing you`ve ever known.. with the hope it`ll come in handy on that one design on day... I must take a recent picture of my messy man cave !
  7. Welcome aboard somewhereinia ( what a great name lol ). Don`t worry.. ultimaker kicks makerbot`s a$$ when it comes to printer friednliness
  8. Hmmm... just watched the season finale of The Walking Dead..already wishing for the start of next season !! Had a glass or two of red wine... now having a hundred thoughts about how a bunch of us ultimaker forum members can put all of our creative minds together, start a profitable design and print business and work for ourselves.. making whatever we want .. when we want !! OK... back to wine I go... oh and im having horrible twisting filament issues arrgghhh !!! Im gonna take a carving knife to it!
  9. I am using latest cura and today I am testing lots of filaments so changing a lot... so far so good! 14.03 right?
  10. Keep us posted Shark, id be interested in trying this out if they get it sorted.
  11. Has anybody got Siert Wijnia email address, I wanna send all these under extrusion images and ask for 1000 rolls free filament Just kiddin... best of luck to them all !
  12. I`m struggling with all sorts of extrusion mess at the moment, I am almost certain that it is due to Ultimaker filament spooling... I`ve been using Faberdashery unspooled for a while with no issues, back to an ultimaker spool and lots of wasted prints :( I printed Three more cylinders, exact same settings with two different spools of filament. The unspooled faberdashery and NEW ultimaker blue were fine... the 1/2 - 3/4 used ultimaker blue is terrible ;/ It`s putting me off buying more ultimaker filament.
