You may have read about it already, but the last few months we have been working on a new version of Cura.

It has been completely reengineered from the ground up using the Uranium framework, for an even more seamless integration between hardware, software and materials.

It's free for everyone to enjoy.

In the New Cura, not all of the old features have been incorporated.

Do you want to read more about it or find out which Cura version is best for you?

Please post more information.  I didn't know it was out for mac also!  That was fast. For example what exactly does the error say? Does the screen show up at all? Is the error on top? did you look in the log file? Can you post that also?

I'have downloaded Cura 15.06, but i get an error on my MacbookPro

    What to do?

Did you download 15.06 or 15.06.01? 15.06 didn't work unless you had a beta version installed prior.

I just download and install Cura 15.06.01 on my PC Windows 8.1 and I can´t update my Ultimaker 2 firmware, it just stay in the "Starting firmware update, this may take a while", the progress bar shows no update and it has been the same for 1 hour.

Does anyone knows what could be the problem?

Wasn't too keen on it at first. It looked WAY too simple, and with the announcement of dropped features (at least for the time being) I was expecting some wimpy software. A click on the tabs while in the advanced mode revealed very few options.

At this point I thought, "Oh great, a very pretty UI with absolutely no function."

That was until I went to Settings>Preferences...>Machine and turned on every darn check box there is. I mean, Support Speed? being able to set bottom and top distances individually in support (not to mention the other 14 options), amount of slower layers, and the material settings, made me exhale loudly, ease back into my chair and say to myself ... "cool".

Look forward to trying out all these settings.

O ye of little faith ;) We meant it when we said that we like people to mess with the internals.

the version 15.06 also gave an error, as this one, on a mac. Is there something else to do?

I downloaded and used version 15.06.01. So far I like what I see. There are a lot of settings that are new so I am going to need some time to figure all of this out. So this is my question.

Can I install 15.06.01 in addition to the version I have been using so far (15.02.1) or do I need to delete the last version and do a new install.

I have noticed that 15.06.01 runs rather slow on my iMac, which is very surprising since I have a very fast processor, 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7. Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 with 8GB of memory. Any idea why Cura runs so slow.

Yes you can run multiple versions of Cura at the same time with no issues.

I would even recommend you to do so because the latest Cura is great but some features are still missing so you would need an older version for certain things

Yup, we specifically design for that as it's easier to test things. We switch back to old versions sometimes to see if something was broken at that point already.

Unfortunately, 15.06.1 doesn't work for me on Windows 7.

The first dialog appears, i select Ultimaker 2 - click on 'Next' and Cura crashes after a few seconds... :(

Is it a known problem? Is there a logfile on windows too?

I'm afraid the whole thing is just another public beta test at the moment...

and only good for scaring new customers... :(

I see it mentions "Ultimaker Original users who use the 'Configuration Wizard' and 'Bed Leveling Wizard' are essentially directed to stick with 15.04. Why? Is the UM Original being abandoned?

I am guessing that those of us with UM Originals can use this new CURA for slicing and printing?

Okay tried it out....despite the settings being Ultimaker Original and No Heated Bed, if you go to use this, the Ultimaker Original sits at "Heating bed".

Umm, you guys test this stuff, right? ;)

So am I overlooking things or is it no longer possible to change the nozzle size?

Also: I really liked the tripple state of the old combing function, will that be back?

The nozzle size is one of the machine parameters, but you can enable more settings to see so you can configure actual line widths, which is most likely what you want to influence when you where messing with the nozzle size on the old Cura.

The tripple state of the combing was lost somewhere, as it was contributed on the "legacy" Cura during new Cura development.

Best to file an issue about it here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/CuraEngine/issues
