Well I guess this is when the 3MF files will make things a whole lot easier in the new cura.
did anybody try the setting 'wire printing' yet?
it is hard to predict what it does because there is no preview...
just trie to find it out, I guess, but there are so many settings..
Yes i tried it. Took a while to get the temp right but it ended up working ok on .4 nozzle. You just need to make sure the outside of the nozzle is clean otherwise the strands can stick to it and drag along as the nozzle moves.
I then tried it on .8 nozzle but couldn't get it to work.
I want to try a large print to see how it goes but i think it will take a bit to find good settings.
do you have pictures??
Dim3nsioneer 558
@Dim3nsioneer think it would be pretty nice for vases and stuff if you could add a "fuzzy skin" on/off to Tweak-at-Z.
Hmm... that's slightly outside of the current TweakAtZ scope. However, scope can change. If someone want's to write something 'fuzzy' for the TweakAtZ I would certainly include it. I guess one would have to start with a clean gcode and add the fuzzyness the same way to it as Cura does it.
do you have pictures??
No sorry. I scrapped the results as the model I tried was to small to see its shape properly. Also the base wasn't good as I was adjusting settings to find the correct temp.
I was mainly just seeing what it does as like what you said, you can see it in layer view.
did you try to load the gcode in simplify3d? This may give an idea.... can't try in now as I'm not at home....did anybody try the setting 'wire printing' yet?

I don't have S3D (yet), wanted to see how the new Cura evolves
Edited by GuestYou probably can try to view the gcode in CraftWare by CraftUnique. It's free.
Guys, I found the latest Beta (2.1.99) out there but @nallath, is there a dual extruder support implemented? I can´t find the settings...
Maybe someone could give me a hint...
You...."found" it?

Yeah, it's just a tad bit hacky to get it to work. So here goes;
You need to have a printer that has more than one extruder (json file).
Then there is a setting that tells the engine which nozzle to use for an object. Then use per-object profile to set the nozzle it needs to use to print it with to something non default.
After that, merge the objects and you should be good to go.

@nallath, thank you for the hint - nevertheless, as we in Austria say - I understand just train station :-)
Maybe you could guide me a bit..
I don't suppose anyone could direct me me to the beta.....
There will be an open beta soon..... if you want to help testing the current beta you can ask @nallathI don't suppose anyone could direct me me to the beta.....
Will do. Thanks.
I'm testing the recent builds but in all of them I can't set the printing and bed temperatures, the options are missing in the interface and greyed out in the preferences.
Any reason for that?
I removed my ~/.cura profile, created a new profile with default printer and it's still like this :(
Something I'm missing?
Edit:
Actually I found my issue, by adding an official third party printer, the temperatures were there.
I compared the JSONs and somehow my printer had a section with "overrides" for temperatures... I think I copied an Ultimaker profile JSON (the github wiki recommends this!) which isn't actually a good idea for a custom printer
Let's print!
Edited by GuestNow I found other issues, probably real bugs this time
I'm using the Pi build: 2.1.99-20160314.
First bug:
When I click on the "Save to File" button, it just shows a blank popup, not asking where to save.
Clicking on the menu File->Save Selection/All it shows a browse popup but doesn't save a file (not found in the folder I selected).
I added "file_formats": "text/x-gcode" to the JSON profile, and the "Save to File" button now shows a browsing dialog but still doesn't write a file.
My printer profile is in "~/.cura/machines" but when I move it to the "Cura.app/Contents/Resources/cura/resources/machines" it writes the gcode file!
I guess there's something wrong when using profiles hosted in "~/.cura/machines".
Second bug:
When I change the bed temperature (60 to 70), and save it (in Normal Custom) by switching quality profile, then come back (to Normal Custom) it doesn't show changed.
However in the Preferences the new temperature (70) is apparently saved...
But in Current Settings it's 60...
Third bug:
On my MacBook Pro Retina 13 in (2560x1600), the Post Processing Plugin window takes more than the whole screen (and can't resize). I only see the first 2 panels (Scripts and Active Scripts) on my screen and have to move the window outside towards the left to access the third right panel (let's Say Tweak At Z).
If I plug in an external monitor (1440x900), and move this window on it, its size is pretty small and can use it normally.
Maybe an issue with the Retina monitor resolution?
Same fullscreen issue for the "Add Printer" dialog.

Yeah. Would be nice to combine 2 stl' s like the dual extrusion in legacy cura. Then select fuzzy on one.
