  1. The packaging has improved indeed, and will be improved even more in the (near) future.
  2. The stick is indeed for better adhesion. For normal PLA prints you probably don't need it, but feel free to experiment. For ABS you probably want to use the glue stick to create better adhesion. For PLA (on the heated bed / Ultimaker 2, which has closed sides but I think you could go towards the same profile) 60º works fine for PLA too.
  3. How does yours differ from this one? You don't have to remove your feeder, but this was the best picture I could find that demonstrates how far out the screw usually is. Because I checked some printers here in the office, and based on your original picture I couldn't tell if there was a big difference. Therefor, could you upload a video that illustrates the problem?
  4. In that case I would say Zbrush, if you think you are up to it. You could start with sculptris, which is a free stripped down version of Zbrush..
  5. I really want to start learning Zbrush, i hear it is pretty complicated. But I guess that goes for mostly all CAD modeling tools. The bottom question I think is, what do you want to make? There is a big difference in whether you want to be making Bustes or Architectural models, as an example..
  6. one could think that (maybe just for your needs) that the design needed improvement, but I actually think it is a strength of Ultimaker that through its open source nature there is room for modification. Did it benefit you specifically or do you feel you could have gotten this same result with any other machine? I know I spoke to Poro about the PT100 (I don't know the outcome right now), but as a company we are open for discussion and innovation, and so is this entire community. I think it would also be interesting to have a follow up conversation with Poro and evaluate his mods. What do you think Poro?
  7. And yes, 300mm/s is probably too fast. I don't know what you want to print you but you probably want to slow it down to 50/100mm/s. The temperature must be in ratio with the speed. so around 30mm/s-195º 50mm/s-210º 100mm/s-240º
  8. Could you make a short video of the beep occurring on your feeder? Illustrating pictures and video's are always very helpful!!
  9. I am just chasing a hunch here, but ok, maybe you don't have an actual frame of reference, but based on your common sense, do you think the setscrew is maybe too long? Would it be better if it would be slightly shorter?
  10. Yea I know him, what was his name again, I want to say Matthew.. Very nice guy!
  11. What about using a material like Ninjaflex on (part of the) fingers? It can be pretty stiff, and I can imagine it offering good grip. Ninjaflex is pretty strong too.. (did you see the Also way cool!)
  12. I did mention it to Jon a few times, and other volunteers in the e-nable community. But the most feedback I heard was that it was not as commonly available in the US as it is here through colorfabb. But also because it is odorfree, foodsafe, and supposedly 50 times stronger then PLA and have high hopes for XT
  13. that would be so ghetto! Makes me think of the James Bond villain Jaws. He could have made so much money of branding.. poor guy, had to fall out of a train.. twice. Or drive of a cliff. .. what was his end? You can also use your print to make a cast and mold your teeth. see.. plenty of options!
  14. For the record; that was not an official recommendation Do you mean like delamination? Never heard that was a common problem for XT. And why specifically for colored XT?
  15. The Ultimaker Original is available, the Ultimaker Original+ starts shipping near end of November and the Ultimaker 2 has 4-6 weeks leadtime. 5. Both machines are capable of this workload, but you may want to look into ordering some spare parts to avoid downtime, like a spare hot end and teflon part. 2. Can we buy ultimaker original+ in assembled and ready-to-use condition at an extra price? If yes, how much and how much lead time? If not, is it easy for anyone to assemble (we are not confident enough)? The kit is easy enough for anyone to build, it takes approximately 10 to 12 hours. For the question about buyinh a built kit, someone from Ultimaker will clarify this Someone from Ultimaker: Nope. It is only available as a kit. The assembly is not very difficult and a lot of fun. You only need a screwdriver to put it together. I haven't build the Original+, but the Original took between 6-10 hours. If you want a prebuilt machine, I could recommend to look into the UM2. 9. How much would be shipping charges to India? Someone from Ultimaker will answer this! Someone from Ultimaker: If you go to our website and put an Ultimaker in your shopping cart you can enter your shipping details and do a calculation. At this stage it is not a final purchase yet. 10. What is the shipping method do you use and how much time does it take to reach to India? Someone from Ultimaker will answer this! Someone from Ultimaker: We ship through DHL or FedEx. Shipping to India takes approx just over a week, but customs are difficult to predict. Sometimes they are difficult and it takes very long, sometimes it passes with no problems. 11. How much guarantee/warantee do you provide? Someone from Ultimaker will answer this! Someone from Ultimaker: Officially we offer a 3 month warranty, but after this period maintain a very customer friendly profile. A disclaimer; if you buy an Ultimaker Original(+), we can not guarantee the functionality of the machine because we have not build it. We do offer warranty on the parts itself.
  16. You can also get Ultimaker samples! http://www.3dhubs.com/ultimaker
  17. This is great and I am proud to have you in the community Aaron! Very excited to see what you will be posting. At Ultimaker we love the e-NABLE project! There are these similarities in community - open source - 3D printing that connects us.
  18. If you want to put the test from Make up for discusion you may be better of talking to them. We didn't write the test and we certainly did not have any influence on it. But Ultimaker being open source and transparant we have never removed a thread if it was reasonable, so by all means go ahead. For example, in the test they also used a pre-set setting from Cura to test the Ultimaker, while any slightly experienced user can create a profile in Cura that will probably give better results during those stress tests. However, Ultimaker being a well designed machine and even with general settings it was still able to perform better then most of its competitors and we still came out on top. Of course there is always room for play and interpretation, I am not going to argue with that. But no printer got any special treatment. I think that is the bottom line.
  19. Bosnia is within Europe so you have to pay VAT. The ordering system will calculate this automatically for you if you enter your shipping details. You can find a reseller closer to you, like Italy or Germany or buy from us directly. How long will you be staying in the Netherlands? You can also have it shipped to the Netherlands, but currently there is a leadtime on the Ultimaker 2 and it won't help you dodge the VAT.. If you speak german and you want more information in German you could reach out to iGo3D, they are our german reseller.
  20. Do you hate brims and not your first layer? I mean, it is practically the same thing. I always was able to force my nail under the brim and just peel of the print..
  21. I can't really argue with you whether the Ultimaker prints better in ABS or Zortrax, because I have 0 experience with Zortrax nor do I know any people who do (except for you I suppose). I do know plenty of users who solely print abs on Ultimaker so I can only conclude that it does work, besides our own first hand experience which is also a positive one. Anyway, I am very proud Ultimaker 2 won and was acknowledged as the best desktop printer available now a days
