  1. I'm not sure I understand the issue? I've only seen globs, such as in your photo, when I used the Ultimaker 2's remove filament feature. Are the blobs on the print head?
  2. Great video! So what's the usable print volume (L x W x H) with this setup?
  3. Ha ha...wow, @Labern. And people think I'm critical!
  4. I had one that used to squeak badly, here's the part they suggested....i printed it out and it solved the problem! http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:46157
  5. I mean that Ultimaker, through it reseller, should feel confident they are selling new printers that have been assembled properly, with pride and inspected. You wouldn't accept a new car with motor troubles or a scratch. Same with your Ultimaker 3. I hope they make things right
  6. I keep scrolling up and down at his photos and the reference one. How his fan lines up with the heater block looks ok. That vinyl shroud does direct down but like Neo says, you can print a better one that moves the air around nicer.
  7. What a mess. You should expect a pristine machine, carefully assembled and tested. Don't settle for less.
  8. Original fan....okay...wasn't sure if you had replaced it
  9. With some additional details, we could get your fan to work properly
  10. Good point I wonder what the fan is rated for (cfm) I lowered my fan to 35 which roughly equals 14% for my new 100% setting
  11. It's disappointing to see these sorts of posts given the hype and excitement for this new printer. Did you contact the reseller to get the problem resolved? I'm pretty sure @sandervg would advise you to start there.
  12. Usually the Slow PWM would indicate an error message, from my experience Did this problem occur after changing the fan?
  13. That's very very disappointing to see
  14. But does it shrink or deform? I'm working on many print parts that will attach into an assembly. If the parts deform, shrink and what have you...that's a lot of wasted prints.
  15. The black lever should be all the way down, just an FYI Have you cleaned the hobbed piece inside the feeder recently? My thinking is the print starts ok, then the filament either slips or isn't getting the extra force from that black knob being all the way down (I know some even zip tie the lever tight) What's the black tube laying across the print head and build plate?
  16. I'm curious if the file was incomplete or something? Maybe do the next print using the USB port?
  17. Oh I feel your pain, I've made PLA-spaghetti a few times too. As others said, glue stick helps a lot. I'd be curious how you had it oriented to print, like a screen shot from Cura. Is there a lot of support material holding the base? Give the glass a thorough cleaning. Remove all contaminants, even if you don't think there are any. I scrubbed my clean in the sink with dish soap, allowed to completely dry, then a once over with glass cleaner (windex). I heat the bed to 60C manually then do a few swipes with the glue stick. I go quickly so you don't get those "chunks" on the bed
  18. The Cura aspect I do not know about The strength of carbon fiber is in the weaving of it, so I don't really see the filaments matching the stretch the raw cf cloth gives. The finished prints are very matte. Thomas Sanladerer has a great youtube channel and has been doing pretty thorough filament tests lately. Here's two on CF filaments
  19. Hi @ian There's a few threads in here where many of us experimented with and used Colorfabb's XT-CF20. I think others also used ProtoPasta's CF filament as well. You'll also want a hardened nozzle or one of ruby nozzles soon available, because the filament is very abrasive. Temps and bonding, I don't recall what worked best. But there is some threads in here that could help you find answers.
  20. That's good advice I'll slow it down and see how the blob situation goes.
  21. Not using a Beta, correct Just the current release.
  22. I saw that error yesterday and I have come across it randomly over the month. Maybe it's just happening on this side of the Atlantic Ocean? BB-8 is slowly making progress. Those 24 frame pieces take 15 hours each. I really need more printers
  23. I really appreciate that. I know I could edit the existing ones but the option of adding is so convenient
  24. Which flow test? Yes, interesting that both prints in different materials present the same issue
