Nope, Tinkergnome just designed a mounting bracket for the standard UM2+ feeder The mirrored UM3 feeder would be nice if mounted like on the UM3. But most people won't drill big holes into the Dibond back panel I suppose.

... and to answer @Dim3nsioneer as well. We'll see this next week. Some people already have been asked but not everyone might have enough spare time left within the next two weeks. The aim is to have a handfull of people installing it pretty soon.

Beta testing will start next week. As you know there's the doodle poll where 50+ people registered. Therefore we would like to do two beta testing cycles. First we'll invite a small group to see if any glitches will surface during the installation process. A few "mission critical" parts have to be to printed and assembled. The enitre process is quite simple, however we want to minimize potential errors. This first round should not take more than two or three weeks. Therafter, every one who showed interest will have the opportunity to perform the upgrade. This solution likely is the most cost-effective alternative available. As for any dual extrusion system you need another drive train (feeder, hotend). But besides this the extra investment is less than €15. The only thing you will have to buy is some magnets. Maybe you want to order them in advance. You need 6 pieces of this type: disc magnet, diameter: 6 mm, thickness: 3 mm, holding force: 900 gr. They're cheap, I recommend buying at least 12 because if lying around they tend to develop a life on their own.

I use the same orientation as shown in the google+ 3D printing group. Otherwise the deck would start mid air as the hull is completely hollow.

BTW guys, it looks like some of the nicknames on the doodle poll are not the same as used here. Please double check and correct if necessary. This would make things a little easier for me. Dual benchy, stl files processed with www.voronator.com, sliced with Cura 2.3

Ultimaker 3 Extended power problem
foehnsturm replied to sproutdesign's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
That's exactly the same with my (beta) UM3. Then I've to wait for about 30 sec (the Linux system takes quite some time to boot) until the panel and the lighting switch on and the printer is ready. -

Foehnsturm Dual Extruder Approach
foehnsturm replied to bob-hepple's topic in Third party products & modifications
You would need the aluminum stuff (the two plates and the cooling thingy inbetween) as well. -
Foehnsturm Dual Extruder Approach

Yes, you could use the two Bondtechs, you would just need another (UM2 or UM2+) printhead (including the wiring) and bowden tube. -

It's not your job to filter out the important stuff. This thread has a long history and only the recent stuff addresses the UM2. There will be a fresh start with all relevant and up-to-date information in a few weeks.

@greengecko, I don't mind at all, please go ahead. As I expect many UMOs out there already being hacked in some way, it's a good idea to collect the interested people and check if there's a common starting point and objective. An UMO tool changer project will be kind of a side project as I have to focus on the UM2 to provide an almost product-like user experience for this upgrade. I can share the UM2 files but you would have to modify some of the parts on your own.
-
Original PSU, the firmware does some smart power management automatically in the way you mentioned.
-
Tinkergnome made it possible to use the 35W (?) UM2+ heaters together with the bed. Perhaps there would be a similar solution for UMOs
-
Hi @greengecko, There are at least 3 guys who asked about a UMO version. So maybe yes ...

Absolutly Thank you! Beta testing should start in November. If interested please send a PM.
