  1. Ah did not see that jet but knew they were coming..... hope to try them soon
  2. If you want to be able to use the complete bedsize the head will stick some 5mm out off the front... so a door 5mm offset from the front panel would be ideal.
  3. while this may be an option in some cases, specially when printing stuff only for it's looks, when you want a more mechanically strong part you may want to avoid the default profile temperature drops..... and you will need at tower IMHO. Anyhow I feel we need the option to use a tower thats suited for use with PVA, the current option is clearly not the best.... It should not be that hard to create a "per material tower" i think.....
  4. https://github.com/TinkerGnome/Ultimaker2Marlin/releases if you take the dual versions of tinker firmware your ready to go... even has the option to reverse motor, set e-steps and many more practical stuff...
  5. About the silicone pads, the biggest hole should be on the right (right?) for the BB. About the cause, it seems your prime tower broke of. This tower design is just not good enough for PLA/PVA. I feel it would be much better to have a design with non or only partially overlapping towers, so there's always a PVA-PVA connection. @nallath @SandervG whats the plan with towers? anything on the CURA roadmap anytime soon?
  6. Hmmm.... not the best. Also this version does a lot of weird z hops on the bottom layers... Basically it comes down to keeping it simple I think. - you solved the weird straight lines from the first version (check) - a small string is better than a blob as easier to remove (check) - the string needs to be small to avoid it to touch the item in 2 places, but keeping the string small is pretty difficult as many people will print spiralised at higher temperatures and over extruding (x probably impossible to solve) - don't do the crazy tricks and z hops, don't think they add value. - an option to choose the position where the layer start-end will be (vs random) might be the best so people can choose the position of the strings to be on the least visible side of the object (can ofc also be a fixed place, people can rotate the object) edit; oh and this version again has the strange "ridge" (is that a word) again as in version3
  7. a picture says more than a thousand words .....
  8. Result of test 4 was rather poor unfortunately.... I'll show a picture later.
  9. I think for spiralize a tower is indeed no option. Maybe you can influence a bit how the material transition looks? A little string is not so bad, as easy to remove, but a blob is bad.
  10. Yeah, i figured that out, love the single layer view...
  11. 2.5 on the left, big improvement IMHO just 2 more wishes; a video like view to see the nozzle path, like in S3D less "moire"effect of the walls when looking at and rotating the object.
  12. here's the project file https://www.dropbox.com/s/1f8cwmjkuy0irwy/UM3_Traffic_Cone.curaproject.3mf.zip?dl=0 and the baseline Cura2.5beta; the brim looks poor as the 2th "poop" got dragged into the print.......
  13. how about this as a test model? better? just sink it a bit in z to avoid printing the bottom part to save time... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21773
  14. ok, so the version 3 has pretty big blobs, but that should have been no surprise as they also show in S3D More weird is the sort of extra ridge....
  15. http://3dsolex.com/product-category/ultimaker_2/um2-nozzles/ I'm using the regular 3dsolex nozzles and I'm pretty happy with them....
  16. I don't think this is super critical, but why not just try it out. The PT100 at room temp is about 108 ohm if I'm right, just measure with and without cables.... Anyhow even if the temp is a bit of, if it's just a single printer, without the need to have multiple exact matching machines its less relevant imho.
  17. I'll give it a try and make you a new testobject, but it will have to wait till saturday....
  18. The strange move is gone, so thats good, but the material transition is not the best, the strings on the side are easy to remove, but the blobs in front are difficult to nicely clean. There was also extrusion from the "change position" to the print, on the skirt printing of the 2th material, causing a polluting blob on the first layer. As I don't have the project file I cant check your settings
  19. do I understand correctly you need a place to buy a 0.25 nozzle? have a look here; http://thegr5store.com/store/index.php/um2/0-25-nozzle.html www.3dsolex.com
  20. I'd say time to try with another rol of pla .... at least to rule out its the pla.
  21. Don't have access to the S3D viewer atm, will have a look tonight, but in Cura the "spiral" looks incomplete....
  22. I guess your computer does not support OpenGL4.1 ? I have no idea if upgrading your video driver could help? I'd say first find out which video card your computer has. from the blog post;
  23. Can't you just use the simple sample project I PM'ed you? I can make something different if you need something else. If you need me to test print from your new code you can just PM me some gcode for UM3 .... Or if you have a Cura version with a possible fix I can also try it for you.
  24. maybe a little less worse, but it still looks like crap :( so I may have missed it but what filament is that? are you using the test file with the right temperature range? are you fans working ok?
  25. And currently the "3d view" is default on the 2th spot, which is supper annoying regarding loading time, specially on a phone. I'd like that to default to the last thing shown.
