1. Bear in mind that when your bed temp reaches 60 or whatever temp you set, that will probably be the centre of the bed and there of the bed will probably be at least 10 degrees cooler. The positioning of this probably differs between various makes of printer. For a print covering most of the bed you need to wait for the outer areas to reach the temp. Not sure why you decided to leave the glue off, that can only make it more difficult to stick.
2. My gcode file was sliced back in March so that would explain it! Fortunately I can still open Word, Excel, Access files from many years ago and photos from even further back
3. Unfortunately it did not work for me either (vs2.3.1)
4. Under Windows I had to change the profile filename to use the suffix .curaprofile to get the Import to work
5. Lol I was looking at the manager today, before seeing your post and yes they are in alpha sequence - they were not, for me, a few days ago!
6. It seems to me that flow should be hard coded; then if you rerun the gcode for subsequent copies you will be applting the same settings. If it is done via the printer then you will need to log the details so that at some future time you can find the % applied by the printer and use it again to ensure the same result. Of course that assumes you will remember to look for it and can find it. Clearly hard coding in the gcode is a much better method.
7. Hi @SandervG, since 2.3 release I have been having lots of problems with the Notification area and IE 11. It was fine with 2.3 beta but the same problem carries over to 2.3.1 which I installed last week. It is random but very frequent. Selecting a notification to read is fine but trying to delete a notification is almost impossible. In 8 times out of 10 (?) that I move the cursor to the delete icon, IE 11 collapses and issues a message box As there is no control anymore over windows update under W10 it can be assumed that I have pretty much the latest version of W10 and IE 11 on the laptop
8. Thanks for that @berndjm . I suspected it might be something to do with Ultimaker vs custom printer. I do not need it as I can just change the defn. in the printer setting but I was curious as to why I was not seeing it
9. My version of version 2.3.1 does not have "has_varients" in the printer settings!!!
10. My gui does not show the nozzle box on the 2nd line, just the material box. Maybe @nallath knows?
11. Yes I know 8) I was browsing the Verstaken (sorry probably spelt wrong) manual and there was something in there that whilst not exactly the same as my problem, was reasonably close so I tried the suggested settings (including the two we are talking about and it worked. I think you will find that the original settings were Cura defaults - at least in 15.4 if not currently
12. Hmn not sure what difference printing in a large recess with a blanket would be to printing in an enclosed printer in a room with the door and windows shut. I even once had the heating mistakenly set to 26c
13. 2.5 years product development? LOL you should have used one of those companies that do that 3D printing thingy; they claim to do prototypes really quickly. Never mind always next time but if you can find one that makes printers, writes slicing software and supplies filament I am sure you could trust them to do a good job for you.
14. My 2.3.1 does not have nozzle, how come yours does??? Is it because I am using a customised printer?
15. It is working with 2.3.1which I loaded yesterday. There is a funny though; I am in conversation with Support and will report back once that is resolved or I find out what I am doing wrong. BTW you need to change file suffix .inst.cfg to .curaprofile when you import. I do not know for sure but if you Export I assume Cura does that.
16. They are under materials along with other retraction settings. so I asm guessing yo have looked there! I assume that the visibility setting for each one is not turned on. Goto the settings menu at the top and select "configure setting visibility". Go down to the Material section and you will find them there - they need a tick against them to make them visible.
17. Hi @cloakfiend, good to hear that you have solved your weird problem. It did throw a question mark in my mind though, as I have never seen this with Dutch orange which I uses extensively. My customer parts are maybe a similar size to your letter M, maybe not quite as high and the flat top layer is considerably more complex. I would note that I always have infill and on this part it is 100%.
18. @Dim3nsioneer makes a good point on cleaners, many including the world famous WD-40 leave a coating. On my cars I use Isopropyl alcohol which does not. I have never used it on my bed so I am not recommending it as such; I use warm water.
19. Hi @nallath and @peggyb, thank you both for your help, it is all clear now and I should have read the message more carefully and prevented my misunderstanding! I can get at least 6 on the bed so I am happy now  I have always thought that if the user could select the sequence of printing and, say you were printing a row left to right, then if Cura could navigate itself back to the left hand side, the right hand side fan shadow could be removed and more units could be loaded on the bed.
20. Irrespective of your problem I would suggest you are too cool - move up to 245, which will give you far better layer bonding too as long as you printer is enclosed. I suffered those strings too and removed them with the following changes to my standard PLA settings for nGen travel speed from 150 to 200 retraction distance from 4.5mm to 5.5mm minimum travel distance from 1.5 to 1.0 minimum extrusion from 0.02 to 0 These are now my standard PLA settings. Reducing your print speed can also help
21. Hi @berndjm, thanks for that. Yeah after I posted I realised that I knew that but it has been so many years since I was a programmer that the knowledge had disappeared! Good to have it confirmed though, thanks
22. Once at a time is... tricky. It will now draw 2 disalowed areas for each object. This has to do with the size of the head and area's it can no longer print due to another object being there. There is no real easy way to explain this, just try and play around with it a bit. Yes, this makes sense right? A one a time object can be bigger than the gantry height. If that would be the case, the gantry would hit the first object when printing the second one. There is a damn good reason why one at a time is not the default Hi @nallath, OK let us take no.2 first. No it does not make sense to reduce the height of my model when the gantry is 67.5mm above the highest point of my model!!! No.1, maybe a bit more complicated. With a particular set of parts, all 2-3mm high, I always print 4 or 6 copies together. For the past three years with 13/14/15.nn I have nearly always used one at a time - for me it is the much better option. If the print fails say 60% of the way through, instead of having 4 unfinished models I will have two finished models. Also it can be cleaner with no trails between the parts - although these days with more experience I have retraction right and do not usually suffer from this. 15.4 backwards had a much smaller disallowed area and I could easily fit 6 on the bed and probably 9 although I never tried that. I am expecting an order for 500 of the parts which I had planned to print at at least 6 up- if I can only fit 2 or 3 on the bed I will need to go back to 15.04 which will be a shame because I am getting a better top layer finish with 2.3, the top surface is quite complex causing quite a lot of retraction during the infill. I guess my point is that with 15.4 etc. everything was fine so I can only think that 2.3 is doing this wrong - it is the same part and the same printer.
