  1. Sebizzle. I cannot argue with your point about the support and documentation. Documentation should be a relatively fast and easy thing to accomplish, and a few helpful guides would be a great addition to new printers being sold. I guess at the moment, this lack of documentation is being replaced with this community.

    Hi from NL

Welcome Phantom Another happy user is always good haha
  3. I am just going to add a little more, by suggesting that Ultimaker have done a fantastic job with both the development of their software, their hardware and importantly this community. If you are using the 3D printer for hobby projects with normal use, then all of the problems mentioned above will happen yes, but with a little TLC and patience you can get the UM2 working flawlessly. I may just be a lucky one, but even though I read everywhere about feeder issues, underextrusion, adhesion problems bla bla bla, so far my UM2 is doing a great job! I am using NO modifications to feeder systems or extruders. Yes there are a few tricks that I have learnt along they way, this community is priceless. But honestly, I think the UM2 kicks ass on the competition at the moment! Loves ya x
  4. Awwww no Nico! Hopefully it will be back soon Your desk looks cool... looks like a Swedish Sjoberg bench
  5. Hey Travis, Welcome aboard Calibration shouldn't really be an issue but you could try out the tests in this thread to see how well your machine is performing. The more you play with the machine the more you`ll find its incredibly reliable and the fun never stops http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4586-can-your-um2-printer-achieve-10mm3s-test-it-here/
  6. It`s one of those questions without really an answer... because everybody`s models are different with diff supports. I know what you are saying with Cura supports, they are ok on surfaces which do not matter but they suck when it comes to supporting surfaces which need to be aesthetically pleasing. Stanley Knife Pliers and occasionally I heat up the Soldering Iron and melt the buggers off If you have a few spare rubbish screwdrivers, grind them down so that they fit your soldering iron, then you can make all sorts of useful shapes
  7. Aaron, what a bummer! If you was in the UK, I would put you up temporarily in my ultimaker happy corner haha
  8. Shaun, welcome aboard! Don't worry, stick around this forum and you`ll soon get sorted. Clogged nozzle... search forum for " Atomic method "
  9. me too! seen the link on facebook last night! WooooVroooooo Vroooo Wooooo ok weird sound huh
  10. Haha Nico, I Know Skint has been my nickname for a long time, since playing football as a child. In the UK, Skint means that you have NO money
  11. Nice job embedding the bolt ! I`m so lazy, I haven't even updated my firmware to get the Pause feature yet!
  12. Hey Primoz It looks like problem with temperature. The base of your model is much larger, which allows the filament to cool down on each layer, but as your model starts to get thinner at the top, the material doesn't have the same amount of time to cool. Try printing two at a time, or place a cylinder next to your model that is a little higher and tell cura to print both at the same time.
  13. Bauermaker Your results after sanding are superb! You really have a lot of patience, and it shows. I should work on my own patience, its not too good lol
  14. Oh this is disappointing, I was about to order some. I will wait to see what happens in this thread now haha
  15. Hi Zeig I`d say you have both issues. The nozzle may not be fully unclogged, search this forum for "Atomic method". Also, that large chunk missing looks like the feeder skipping again. Make sure the grub screws on the feeder are nice n tight too. As for the curling of the filament when it comes out of the nozzle, yeah this happens quite often. The trick I think is to make sure the end of the nozzle is nice n clean, when I know my nozzle is nice and hot, just before a print starts, I often wipe the nozzle with a bit of kitchen paper....careful its obviously hot.. but it keeps it nice and clean. I always watch the start of a print too, because 99% of the time you know if a print will be successful or not by observing the first few layers. If I see this curling of the filament like in your video, I grab it with my fingers and gently work it away from the nozzle before the print starts.
  16. Awesome Tommy I`m jealous of all you lucky ones in the gaming industry! I look into the KEYSHOT forum most days and some of the characters they produce renderings of are brilliant!
  17. LoL Robert, I Know what you mean. I haven't been on facebook for about 2-3 years, but recently have started looking in again. Nice to see Ultimakers on there
  18. Windows 7, but mine asked me to download a media player extension. I did it, and it works.
  19. I`ve just spent approximately 6 minutes smiling, watching Aaron breaking off his support material haha. It was satisfying hearing all those little crunchy sounds
