  1. The machine should technically "boot" with only the screen and 2 sensors plugged in.. But the short could be between the board and the frame or damaged wire in your printhead cable etc.
  2. thats an odd one.. What model MakerBot are you trying to slice for and what version of UltiMaker Cura are you using? Also, can you try saving to somewhere else such as documents, downloads or desktop? You appear to be trying to save to onedrive.. which shouldn't be a issue.. but wondering if its a factor..
  3. The display is effectively "dumb" so you cant really brick it.. Marlin controls it directly in the UltiMaker 2 Extended. Sounds like you have a short somewhere or your mainboard is bad. The first thing Marlin does booting is to check for temp sensors for the bed and printhead.. if it cant find those it never completes the initial boot cycle (which is where the splash screen comes from)
  4. UltiMaker does not actively add 3rd party 3d printers to UltiMaker Cura on its own. They are added when someone contributes the configuration to UltiMaker Cura's github. The reason it was never added is A) Wanhao never bothered to request it added. B) A Wanhao D12 user never bothered to submit their profile to be added to UltiMaker Cura on github. You can learn more about this here: https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667337565297
  5. S series does not have input shaping in the firmware at this time.
  6. Can you please report this as a bug on github to ensure it is properly brought to the attention of the Dev Team. https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues
  7. Sounds most likely that the power supply brick needs replaced.
  8. I will also mention it might be worth asking Elegoo about this as well. It is not completely known (at least to us non-programmer types) what Elegoo changed in Elegoo Cura. But Elegoo Cura is a port (remix if you will) of UltiMaker Cura. UltiMaker Cura is the official name of "Cura" though as its open source other brands have taken upon themself's to change the naming or logo's and sometimes even change some of the functionality of the software itself to more suit the firmware of their 3d printers. This community is dedicated to "UltiMaker Cura" and answers given here might... or might not.. work for your version of Cura.
  9. I doesn't makes sense for me to provide an opinion on this topic. However, I felt it made sense to share the following Knowledge Article to keep as part of your overall consideration https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667417413367
  10. Im just going to mention this now to set the tone moving forward. UltiMaker's stance on USB printing from within UltiMaker Cura, is to not do USB printing from within UltiMaker Cura. I know you don't like that answer, but it is what it is. As mentioned earlier, its not actively maintained or updated. Its mostly just there at this point to assist with firmware refreshing of older/legacy UltiMaker 3D printers (UltiMaker Original, UltiMaker 2/2+).
  11. Not sure what you mean "going on for a very long time" there was only 1 or 2 release versions with the uninstaller issue that I aware of and those releases were from around 2 years ago.
  12. https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667337567843 This article might provide some help as well. Additionally I recall there being a specific release of 5.x that did have a broken installer and had issues un-installing. This might be related to that. I think it was release 5.1.0 or 5.1.1 - The release notes for 5.2 release notes it as being fixed.
  13. Guide here: https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667337565297
  14. Your settings config might be corrupted.. Uniform Scaling is on by default, being unchecked actually isn't the default setting. What version of UltiMaker Cura are you using?
  15. Can you share pictures of what your seeing??
  16. TPU are not all the same, I would recommend doing some print tuning for the TPU itself first before attempting this.
  17. If you have installed a steel nozzle you will likely need to increase the nozzle temperature a bit even for PLA. Additionally, I would caution about printing abrasives on the 2+ Connect. This isn't recommended by UltiMaker as it may damage the feeder overtime, its not rated for use with abrasive materials. It would also be why UltiMaker does not directly sell a hardened nozzle for the 2+ Connect.
  18. UltiMaker Cura is first and for most designed for working with UltiMaker 3d printers. This is why something for a 3rd party product might feel like a "work around" or require a plugin as noted by ahoeben. UltiMaker strives to add compatibility and functionality for 3rd party 3d printers. However, with that said lots of this comes from help and contribution by 3rd party developers - UltiMaker Cura is open source. As UltiMaker 3d printers don't run Fluidd, or even Klipper for that matter.. This is really up to the community to help add this functionality if its desired.
  19. Yea this issue should be something moved to github. I know UltiMaker Cura does not play well with special characters in paths or folder names. I however would not recommend trying to run in an older compatibility mode As of UltiMaker Cura 5.1.x and newer minimum operating system supported is Windows 10 More details here: https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667337917781
  20. Would be best to report this issue on Github here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues
  21. Sounds like a neat feature, however you will need to share feature requests on github to ensure they are seen by the Dev Team. Here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/discussions
  22. They don't really have a fixed life span, as you noted it depends on many factors. Often issues with under extrusion can be addressed by cleaning the core Guide here: https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667337928445 Outside of that often under extrusion can be due to bad settings in UltiMaker Cura or even simply a dirty front fan on the print head https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667410987947
