3D printers zijn nog lang niet plug & play. Ondanks wat iedereen roept. Ik denk dat de beste optie is om eens naar de ulti evening te komen, daar zijn zat mensen die je probleem op kunnen lossen (en je een hoop over 3D printen kunnen vertellen).

Concrete plans? No. We're working on support stuff and the new Cura codebase. We just don't have the resources to build everything we want (we are looking for new software engineers though...)

It has a health rating of 1, which pretty much means its harmless (it can irritate your skin, but that is about it). Further more, it states that it may be toxic. They don't know if it is. Seeing that this stuf is sold as nail polish remover, i doubt that it's that dangerous. It is smart using this stuff in well ventilated area and safety glasses are should always be used when working with any kind of chemicals.

Oh and it's not just costumers that are interested in what people cook up in their basement. If you have something that works well, don't hestitate to gloat in our face when you show it to us

You could also employ a bigger ' initial layer thickness or a bigger raft. That can fix the problem with the bulge aswell.

In princiepe is de firmware, zoals aangeleverd juist. Je hoeft niet aan de settings te zitten. Je kan ook even zoeken naar een 'marlin builder' dit is een soort web formpje die iemand in elkaar gehacked heeft om het maken van firmware makkelijker te maken (en er staat flink wat uitleg bij). Als het riempje niet goed zit kan je inderdaad vage vormen krijgen. Een laatste tip; Als je sneller antwoord wilt is het slimmer om op het engelse deel van de site te posten. Daar zitten meer mensen.

Dat klinkt als een koeling probleem van de stepper drivers (of van de steps per mm van de z).

Just because you tell it to go at a certain speed, it does not mean it's able to get there. The printer has an acceleration setting, so if the segment it's printing isn't long enough, it won't reach the speed (as it also needs time to de-accelerate). Don't be fooled by claims about speeds that a printer can reach. In most cases it won't ever reach them due to these constraints.

Kom eens een keer naar een ulti evening en neem je printer mee. Debuggen over het internet maakt het een beetje lastig.

Je hebt eigenlijk 2 types van de umo+; 1. Je koopt de gehele kit op dit moment (dus een hele machine). Deze heeft de um2 electronics. 2. Je koopt de upgrade kit voor een umo. Deze houd dus de oude umo electronics. Je krijgt een extra bordje er bij om heated bed aan te sturen. De um2 is overigens wel met usb aan te sturen, je moet alleen iets meer klooien om het goed te krijgen.

Ik denk dat dit iets te maken heeft met de 'initial layer thickness' setting. Die staat bij cura standaard op 0.3 mm. Hij extrudeerd in het begin altijd te veel, om zo betere aan het bed te blijven plakken. Als je het bed dus heel erg dicht op de nozzle hebt afgesteld dan extrudeerd hij dus inderdaad te veel. Dit kan je oplossen door dus het bed wat minder strak af te stellen, of onderaan bij de bevestiging van de z-motor aan de schroef as een paar tikjes met de hand te draaien.

It's the only feature I added to cura :( But yeah, it basicly looks at the clipboard to see if it can find a setting string (like you find at the end of the g-code). It was implemented as at the time a lot of people shared these on the forums. So if you copied them, Cura would automatically load them.

Is het verstoppen of het te vloeibaar zijn van het PLA nu het probleem? In hoeverre ik het kan zien ziet dit er prima uit.

Is het mogelijk om een filmpje te maken van wat je bedoeld met papje? Als het er moeilijk uitkomt bij 190, dan moet de temperatuur in principe goed zijn (want dat is normaal).

Op welke temperatuur staat je printer ingesteld? Als er een soort papje uitkomt is het waarschijnlijk dat de nozzle veel te warm word. Probeer ook eens op 190 graden iets te printen. Het kan overigens voorkomen dat je temperatuur sensor kapot is, waardoor deze een afwijking heeft.

Makerbot doesn't use GCode (or well, they do, but they did some magic mumbo jumbo with it). I believe there are some g-code to their format floating arround that might work.

The software already supports dual extrusion, as the UMO does have an (experimental) dual extrusion kit. Removing it would mean that those people can't use their product anymore. That being said; the new version of cura will actually make it more easy to code (and maintain) aditions like multiple nozzles. So even if we would no longer support it, it wouldn't be that hard for anyone in the comunity to pick it up.

It's actually an solution that needs quite a bit of engineering. Getting new injection molding, testing everything again. We are no longer in the stage that we can just change some laser drawings and release it right away.

And if it's cold, it can knock your print from the platform.

Daid made a pretty good post about the print quality of dual extrusion a while ago. That shows exactly what the problems are and why we wont release the um2 dual extrusion kit.

Ik stel mijn bed eigenlijk bijna niet af. Op de umo beduidend vaker dan de um2. Ik heb zelf 1x fillament gehad wat erg breekbaar is, maar van de +- 20 rollen die ik op geprint heb was dat de enige.

Dan is de belangrijkste vraag; wat zijn je verwachtingen? Het kan natuurlijk aan beide liggen; of de printer presteert inderdaad slecht of je verwachtingen zijn te hoog (of beide natuurlijk).
