  1. They have a whole bunch of companies like http://secured3d.com/%20and%20fabsecure.com. and Fabsecure.com We had a test unit a while ago, but it didn't work all that well and had quite a few security issues (then again, it was a early beta). I do see that they've got some financial backing now, so maybe it improved a lot. At the time the device was like 500 ish euro, which is way to expensive imho.
  2. Also; try printing with normal quality first. This will also allow you to iterate faster.
  3. Any appliance can burn down your house. Any company that claims that their product is a 100% safe is lying. But just because it can happen, does not mean that every device should have a smoke detector that powers it down. Especially not when it cots a whopping 70$.
  4. None that i'm aware of. Experimental usualy means; Don't expect to get a succes rate of 80%, more like 25%-50%.
  5. There are actually 3 developers; two front end / backend people and one guy working on the 3D model display thingie. But yeah, they don't visit the forums that much.
  6. And take care to look into the licence of cura beforehand. In some cases, due to it's infecting AGPL licence, it might force you to open source your software as well. If you're already planning on releasing it as an open source software, you don't need to worry.
  7. Turning your printer in a dead brick is very very hard. I don't think that adding a second nozzle will have much chance of bricking the printer.
  8. http://www.mosaicmanufacturing.com/ They don't have a 2,85 - 3mm option yet, but they have told me that they are working on one.
  9. Thats what I filled in (well not quite with that in mind, but hey, cookies could work)
  13. How much do you spend on 3d printing? How much what? Euros? Dollars? Hours? Garden gnomes?
  14. Seeing it's in the US, you should probably connect with illuminarti
  15. Actually, I believe that the printers from build3r have had this for some time already.
  16. Yeah, thats why stuff like the flexi-drive has a lot of potential; The advantage of direct drive, but only very little extra weight on the head.
  17. I agree. Two colors is not that interesting. It might be that there are people who want this, but i'm not interested in dual color at all (but multiple materials can be awesome). On the leveling; I've not leveled the bed of our machine in ages. It prints non-stop with constitantly good quality. Weird. @ Ultiarjan: You are. There is bed leveling (moving the bed so it's level) and compensation (find out orientation of the bed and compensate). Both have their pro's and cons.
  18. Don't expect anything below 5000 euro that will work. I've yet to encounter a machine that does dual extrusion well.
  19. Most materials you will 'get right' eventually. The problem here is that we sold a difficult material to new people.
  20. I did. They seem to think that it's better to sell that stuff as it's our company color. I stopped fighting that battle after a while. Felt like my energy was better spent on other issues. Our material people are working on ensuring that all colors print the same, so in the future this should stop being a problem.
  21. If you found a bug, report it on github. Bug reports on the forum have a tendency of not being noticed.
  22. I lost any faith in these guys when they said: "We couldnt find a good slicer, so we could only do one thing; Make our own printer OS." Wait, what?
  23. Yeah, but you don't see the rest of the head so i'm kinda afraid that it's really heavy. But it does look awesome. If martin wants to work on this more, he should contact us
