  1. You may find all the parts for the UM Original https://github.com/Ultimaker/UltimakerOriginalas PDFs and STEP files.
  2. Hi remycarl Welcome to the Ultimaker forum! Would an Ultimaker Original with a dual extruder extension be an alternative for you? It already exists although it is also experimental as the one of your printer. However, as Ultimaker also thinks that Makerbot is not continuing on the dual extruder, serious efforts are made to equip the UM2 with a dual extruder. But there are still some issues to be solved. So nobody actually can give you a release date. I'm not sure there will be an upgrade kit for single extruder UM2. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe the dual extrusion machine will be called UM3. Maybe UM2 plus. Or UM2 dual extrusion. So, if you need dual extrusion right now, the UM Original would be your machine. That's all what's for sure.
  3. Hinter mexhibit.ch steht eine Firma, die u.a auf procurement, d.h. strategischer Einkauf weltweit spezialisiert ist. Daher vermute ich die Herkunft eher irgendwo im asiatischen Raum. In China bekommst Du genauso Filament in allen Farben. Soviel ich weiss produziert Colorfabb in Holland und Faberdashery in Grossbritannien. Ich würde es deshalb eher als unwahrscheinlich ansehen, dass das Mexhibit-Filament mit einem dieser beiden Produkte identisch ist.
  4. I got information from the Swiss importer of Trespa that 6mm Trespa Virtuon can be laser cut.
  5. Heavy is good in terms of vibrations. So you milled it? I think you or Nallath mentioned it cannot be laser cut. What about water jet cutting?
  6. Do you know which Trespa you saw/used? There is an outdoor (called Meteon) and an indoor (called Virtuon) product.
  7. Maybe something like determining the UV index?
  8. Sorry to come up with the same thing again: Did you actually check if the jumper in the middle connects the two pins? There could also be a broken connection from the pins to other parts of the board. Easiest thing to try is to use two jumpers from another axis, e.g. from the second extruder.
  10. Wow. Any special treatment required for proper extrusion compared to e.g. standard PLA?
  11. Nice. Is it reversible? Or just one way?
  12. Paint them for a test. In serial production you may (partially) anodize them if it works... the amount of radiated heat should significantly more than double up... but maybe you tried that already?
  13. We know. But how should we find out before we have written it down...?
  14. I think this doesn't work with the standard FW, does it? The standard FW blocks the z axis all the time I think...
  15. I fully agree with IRobertI. Re-leveling is certainly a good approach. The extruded material should be adequate to the mean distance between nozzle and bed. You will most probably never get an equally thick first layer on the acryllic bed (at least I didn't). But, as IRobertI mentioned, it will equalise on the following layers. From your picture I have also the impression that the mean distance between nozzle and bed is a bit too small. If you have an Ulticontroller you might also use the flow option in the Tune menu for reducing the material amount on the first layer and increase it again afterwards. But that more a quick-and-dirty solution...
  16. I agree on keeping the topic alive although there will no meeting in near future. The recent posts show that people are thinking about what should be the goal of such a meeting. Let's give UM some time to make up their minds as well and to catch up with some issues of their company (I fully understand if UM doesn't want to participate in a big event as long as e.g. their support needs improvement...) However, they might put a community event onto their todo list, certainly not on top but at least it would be on the list. However, we are all free to organise smaller meetings, e.g. within one country or a certain region. In my region, there will be an Ultimaker meeting mid of June, organised by a fablab including a live feed to the UM headquarter! :-P Maybe there are similar events in other countries. I guess some of the members of this forum are actually from a fablab. For all the other forum members interested in a community event, connecting with fablabs might be a good first step towards a bigger Ultimaker meeting. I think this might also attract UM to play an active role in the organisation of a community event if they could rely on their fablab contacts...
  17. I will. But probably not before Monday or Tuesday.
  18. Obviously, the topic has gained some attraction. And that's maybe exactly what Makerbot wanted. While I can understand that people are upset about it, it might be the best thing to keep things calm and rely on the fact that the state of technology cannot be patented (at least in Europe). So the application should be declined if everything goes the way it supposed to...
  19. @foehnsturm: Children will only love it if they are allow to use this dice but not the adults... seriously: I see some bumps in the BioFila Linen. Is this due to some tweaking while printing or to a diameter variation?
  20. I know... just meant that your plugin might be more clever than even Cura itself...
  21. You mean the teflon of one hotend has a problem with radiated heat from the other hotend? What about puttting some ceramics in between? Or are the machined aluminum parts conducting heat between the hotends?
  22. Maybe I'm blind, but I didn't find a value for the glass temperature. I just saw the bed temperature which is usually a bit higher than the glass temperature. It's quite high for BioFila Linen (90°C) and about the same for PLA for BioFila Silk (60°C). Does that mean 75°C and 45°C glass temperature?
  23. There will be more: BioFila Terra, BioFila Chlorophyll, biofila cho’c and BioFila Vulcano @foehnsturm: Did you talk to the BioFila guy what the remark about once-extruder-never-gets-weak-again means for the hotend in terms of clogs? Does one have to have a dedicated hotend to one of these materials only?
  24. The firmware of UM1 and UM2 work slightly different for the firmware retraction. And they will stay separated in future... So, I'm currently working on a combination of Marlin improvements together with some gcode tweaking in order to get the same http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/3511-auch-no-dual-extruders-anymore/&do=findComment&comment=28535 with firmware retraction and volumetric flow as I got with standard distance-based extrusion and explicit retraction gcode.
