so why did you buy it at the wrong time? newer doesn't mean better... the UM2+ is a very well designed, very good printer. if it suits all of your needs, you bought the right printer.. if it doesn't.. then why did you buy it? I'm sure it feels kinda weird that they announced something new.. perhaps you can work with the seller if it's still in the packaging if you want to return it.. but if you're happy with it, why change?

it'll be pink. they teased that all over the place, Pink Unicorn, wearing pink shirts at events.. sure it'll be pink.

you can also check the + on the printbed holder. the kit with the sticker only has a sticker for the front.

Can't get "atomic" method to work in UM2 with ABS
korneel replied to simonbrouwer's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
i would never do one with PLA or ABS.. use Nylon -
Blocked nozzle. Atomic method not working.
korneel replied to alexkidoo's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
also, do the atomic method with Nylon.. will be a lot cleaner -
Your telling me " een paar maanden" ? and a "paar" is 2 :LOL I hear what you are saying, but I already delayed the purchase for 2 months, and I have to make the decision this week :( Guess I am going to be one of those buyers, that reads about the new UM3 weeks after buying the UM2's I work for a software company and the one thing we hate is sales starting to tell everyone that something new will be released "soon"... since customers will always want the latest, with the assumption it's the greatest.. so here's the deal and it's been said before; does the UM2+ suit your needs? yes? then it's a great investment. releasing a new printer will not make the UM2+ a bad printer. it still suits your needs, worst case scenario you have lost some value of the printers.. it's not like you were going to resell them in a week anyway. so it's all down to feelings. it's not rational to wait if something might be announced. it does not make what you can have now bad. I actually run 4 UM2+ printers continously and they are great. it's been over 5000 hours that I actually had to replace essential parts, ever since the UM2+ came out.. i did replace the feeders with bondtech feeders since I did some stuff the um2+ feeder doesn't like, but all the other parts are almost impossible to kill.. a new nozzle every 1000 hours and you are good to go.. so the UM2+ is a great investment. I would however initiate some direct contact with Ultimaker. when you are a larger customer, they usually help you out with your decisions.

i think he means 15.04.. after a firmware update, i would always do a complete factory reset.. it will clear any wrong eeprom settings. can you do a factory reset and let us know if this resolves it?

Selling lightly used ultimaker 2 with mods
korneel replied to carlose_martin's topic in Buying or selling your UltiMaker
considering my oldest UM2 has 16K hours on them.. yes.. -
so maybe it's just me, but I can't change any settings in Cura 2.3.0 beta.. whenever i try to change things like layer height from 0.1 to 0.2 , it just pops back to 0.1 .. this is the same for all settings..

trying this one out.. however... Windows Smartscreen and Windows Defender feels this is a virus...

Lines not quite connecting to shell/outer perimeter
korneel replied to Ronan's topic in Improve your 3D prints
that's underextrusion. you are getting that because of the way the bowden tube works.. unfortunately, the only way to fix that is to overextrude.. but then you'll be overextruding in the corners where it does work.. simplest solution? stay away from the front-right corner.. -
Again : walls\layers not touching : advanced question
korneel replied to korneel's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
yes I did sorry, was not in the list.. but replaced this with an original one and with one from 3dsolex... -
Bondtech extruder *thumbs up*
korneel replied to catohagen's topic in Third party products & modifications
haha, my "hate to say so" is because I really felt the Um2+ improved feeder would have fixed all my issues. I'm bummed I still had to go to a different supplier... -

korneel replied to korneel's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
great point what I felt was a good way is to unscrew the nozzle, take out the bowden tube, then gently feed some filament that passed through the feeder and feel for resistance. in all of my printers, it goes through supergently so that's not the problem.. I totally agree with your assumptions, unforunately, i went through all of these :( no it was really the feeder for me.. the interesting thing though is that i had the problem in all 3 printers, and the oldest one had it worst.. i absolutely think it's an addition of issues.. if you have one of the issues, you would not notice anything.. everything I did absolutely improved quality.. however, changing the feeder made the biggest improvement.. -
Upgrade your Ultimaker 2 with the Extrusion upgrade
korneel replied to SandervG's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
did you do a factory reset after the upgrade? that would explain your issue.. -

Just for the shake of curiosity. Would you mind on taking 2-3 atomic pulls and measure the dia of the pulls? (And photos please) you're thinking the inside of the coupler has collapsed? no it hasn't.. I am using TFM couplers, in the process i actually replaced them. I can add the picture if you want but it's 2.85 all the way up to the nozzle.. there is no widening or any other collapsing or whatever of the coupler. I also replaced the couplers with brand new ones, and i immediately had the error.. and it's on all 3 machines.. but what are you thinking? ps: when i do an atomic pull it comes out almost brand clean.. -

and after a couple of days of 24/7 printing and testing i am now happy this has recolved my issues.. i've even bought another 2 bondtech extruders.. -
Bondtech extruder *thumbs up*
korneel replied to catohagen's topic in Third party products & modifications
hate to say this but yes.. the Bondtech Extruder is awesome. quite painful though since i just paid quite a bit to upgrade my 3 printers to the UM2+.. unfortunately, they all suffered from bad top layer closure.. as soon as the bondtech extruder was isntalled.. it's like new.. so yes.. definitely recommend. -
HI; that head is too close to the plate. that needs to change first. the first layer needs to be smooth, there is now too much material extruded causing it to ripple. as far as adhesion, the glass plate, when cleaned properly, should not adhere well to PLA. you should put on a very very small layer of Tesa Eco Stick. that will resolve your issue the bed should be 60 degrees, and the temp for the nozzle should be 10 degrees higher than before if you were using 210 before, use 220 now.

my apologies for the super late reply; so here is what I did over the past few months; replaced the TFM again. check verified the smoothness of the filament channel. check cleaned the feeder (um2+ feeder). check change the rods. check change the nozzle. check. change the rods. check. change the belts. check change the bearings. check. change the firmware. check. change the flow rate. this was interesting, but while it offered some improvement, this was impossible to get consistent. changed the electronics board. check so i have now changed everything about the printer.. the problem is still there... in a half-drunken let's buy-shit mood, i bought a bondtech extruder. i installed this over the weekend.. guess what. problem gone. as in. completely gone. i printed something with the original feeder, very obvious walls not touching and lines not touching in the layer. after the bondtech feeder, all is gone and it does not have the signs of over extrusion.. -
ok, i'll report in.. i have it on all 3 printers.. the oldest one has it more than the younger ones.. i replaced everything.. they are all UM2+ printers (upgrade kit).. only thing I did not replace are the belts.. everything else is.. on white PLA it's super noticable, other materials not so much..
