  1. hmm "Reduces 3D Printer noise" interesting
  2. Those Daikin devices are not very efficient in collecting particles. I have some experience whith them from a previous job and must say that the collector stage of their ESP is much too short. The best cleaning effect of the Ururu device comes from the humidification stage. I bought it in the first place because I'm allergic and for that it's working great.
  3. Hello people, I'm selling my precious already... I got an 5 months old Ultimaker 2 in perfect condition for sell. It has 1000 print hours and many upgraded parts. - Olsson block installed, brand new one from last month (the previous one is included in the package to proof this is the 2nd one and new one) - 35W heater installed - I'm giving 3 new PTFE couplers with the printer. There is a fresh one installed from yesterday in the printer. - Spare heater & temp sensor, original filament feeder (new), 1 extra bowden tube with clips --> these are all new items - A front door to keep the heat inside the printer and make it produce less decibels. - Robert's low friction spool holder and filament feeder installed. No filament because that would make the package weigh too much compared to the value of PLA... And no I'm not quitting my favorite hobby (next to mountainbiking though) but I'm buying and UM2 extended+. I just want a bigger build volume that's the main reason why I sell my precious. I'm not keeping my current UM2 because I only have room for 1 printer and I can only print during the day because my wife hears the "beep beep" from the retractions so 2 times beep beep in the house is out of the question. Price is 1500 euros without shipping. (check the dhl.com site for shipping prices, I'm living near Antwerp in Belgium if you want to pick it up). I kept the original box and protection so it should be no issue to ship it. Let me know if anybody is interested or I put my machine on Ebay and other auction sites. Cheers Frederiek
  4. I got an UM2 in my "3D print room" and I got an Daikin airpurifier next to it. It's an great invention imo it cleans the air and smell perfectly. Recommended I got this one http://uk.daikineurope.com/products/index.jsp?singleprv=MCK75J&pf=0
  5. same here, I'm in the first batch for delivery at the end of March We already made a big VR project with my company : http://www.sevenedge.be/case-study/vrcity We got the DK1 and DK2 but the retail version will be improved a lot. Can't wait to test the retail version!
  6. The search for users is working yes, but that's imo 1% of all the search queries you should receive on your site Many of the threads on this forum contain very valuable information for new users, but they have to use Google to find them. I search like this to find information on this forum for example about "Olsson" https://www.google.be/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#newwindow=1&q=site:https:%2F%2Fultimaker.com%2Fen%2Fcommunity%2F+olsson But that's not the way to go imho? (and not everybody knows the "site:" feature of Google )
  7. what's the ETA for an improved (and working) search functionality on this forum? I would temporary remove the search field until it works because it's frustrating to use it right now
  8. I totally agree. They've nearly wrecked their showpiece...their community....by mucking around with the forums. Either buy a platform like vBulletin and leave it alone! 8) Yeah, I was really hoping that taking the website offline meant we would get the old forum back, or at least a forum based on common forum software. That kind of "upgrade" would have made perfect sense together with the community-inspired upgrades on the UM2+ ! Getting the old community back is far more important to me than the UM2+ improvements actually. I would come back and give it a try if that happened for sure , although it might already be too late to recover the old community. December 2015 saw about 80 posts/day compared to about 170/day December 2014 as an example, and the trend is declining. correct about the forum, this is the result you get when you search for UM2+ on this forum... upgrading (or at least make it work) the search of this forum would improve the usability a lot, this is imo also a reason why they have such a high bounce rate... because people use Google instead of the forum search to find stuff.
  9. I share @ultiarjan opinion about the upgrade. There is nothing really new in the upgrade, only the upgrades community people suggested are now out-of-the-box. Of course I'll buy the upgrade kit as soon as it's available, but I guess I'll have to wait for the UM3 for the "real" upgrades. (dual extrusion, auto-leveling, less decibels, ...) A contest with "UM2 upgrade kits" to win would be an awesome idea to celebrate the release of the UM2+ right? Still shame current UM2 owners have to wait, they should get priority to buy the upgrade kit even before you start selling your UM2+
  10. As predicted, but gratz with the release of the UM2+ Where to buy the new feeder & fan shroud?
  11. where to buy to new fan shroud and filament feeder please? excited!
  12. Make sure your fan shroud (the metal thing that holds the 2 side fans) does not touch your Olsson block. More information here : http://support.3dverkstan.se/article/63-the-olsson-block-kit-faq
  13. earplugs start to hurt after a few hours so no option it's definitely the sound the motor we are hearing, the sounds is not transmitted through my desk or wall I'm afraid. Even with a top-cover and front-door you can still hear it too loud. But this will be all solved with the updated Ultimaker release within a few months.
  14. Ok order completed, I'll print your fan shroud too when I'm going to assemble the rear fan. Curious about the improvements tbh. Still my wife hears only the "beep beeps" of the retraction when we are in bed. The printer is located 2 rooms further... And I got a front-door and top cover on my UM2 but still she hears it... So no night prints for me for now until the beep-beeps are solved.
  15. can't seem to find the V1 of the fan anymore.... is the V2 also okay? link to ebay
  16. Add a brim or skirt to your print, this way your printer has time to stabilise his extrusion also.
  17. These ones are cheap and great for abrasive materials : http://e3d-online.com/Extra-Nozzles/V6-nozzle-hardened-steel-3mmx0.4mm
  18. Try to hold the screws with a pair of tweezers, it saved me many hours of frustration
  19. Then I would buy an UM2 extended. Once you master your machine, you'll miss the bigger build volume pretty soon.
  20. I'm guessing CeBit in March 2016. Biggest show on there upcomming events. Yep my guess too.
  21. This Bowden is from 3dSolex. It is about 1.5cm longer than about the original UM2 tube and has a slightly larger inner diameter which does not affect the print quality or the retraction efficiency. Yups I know, but it looks like a new version than the previous one from 3dsolex. I had to print a clip (https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-bowden-clip-thicker-version) to fit the tube in roberts feeder because with the default clip the bowden was not stuck in the feeder.
  22. I'm using this tube right now (http://www.ideato3d.be/boutique/3dsolex-products/bowden-tube-2/) great value for money.
  23. I had the same problem, I bought a cheap (non-original but still from 3Dsolex) temp sensor and it was reading 210C° while it was actually only 190C° or less. I bought an original UM2 temp sensor and all my problems were gone.
  24. So it was actually 1400 in the beginning for the UM2?
