  1. All makes sense 👍 Edit: I do like 4 beta though......
  2. My question would be why you have not upgraded to 3.6 which has a lot of bugs solved. This may be one of them?
  3. I feel like the 'Lone Ranger.' "HIYO Printer! AWAY!!!"
  4. I would. I like the blob. Because it leaps and creeps and slides and glides......ok...off on a tangent..... But, I like the blob because I have come to gauge the flow of my materials by it. And THAT illustrates why an option to turn it on or off and leave it that way would be good. :) And, so, we can ride off into the sunset, knowing that betwixt us two, we have saved the slicing world together!! 🤣
  5. I disagree. Think of it this way, how many times do users forget which printer has which controls on by default? Then multiply that by bazillions of slices. That is a lot of lost time. I know it is not fashionable to think of things like increased or decreased clicks and corrections that can just be avoided and streamline operations. Or, just make the choice and the slicer remembers the settings, but that would be sucked away by the change in materials or layers, etc. Even better, throw in an option for users to make that choice so they do not have to turn things on or off like that. This will not work for many operations, but for things like brim vs. skirt, etc. Though they say "Make a profile,' how many times do profiles get nuked in the upgrades?
  6. Those are well stated reasons. 🙂 Always glad to hear that no matter what side of the fence one may be on. @gr5 is very, very knowledgeable on the UM2 series as well as ABS. Not sure about the PC materials, but, maybe solving one would be tantamount to solving both?
  7. I would ask why. Not to stir things up, but to expand information. I am surprised to hear about the UM2+ giving issues as it has been a reportedly reliable printer.
  8. I just changed profiles for a print and it was there by default on the UM3E. As for printers, if it is a 3rd party printer, then it may be the way the def file is written as they seem to be mostly by interested third parties.
  9. In this thread, I posted a project file and what I do with PETG (T-Glase as well). I seem to be the odd man out on starting point as I do not use the CP or CPE starting point, but I get results that I like.
  10. Ummmm, no, there is plenty to say. I would think that a bit of honest explanation would be welcome. Open and honest debate is welcome. But just a statement like this is not really constructive as it does not offer any tangible information.
  11. Reporting a problem is not spam. I recently had the issue, but it was Win 10 and their forced updates that created an issue with my graphics driver. Since this is a known issue (Win 10 screwing up graphics drivers), I did not report it (Not a Cura issue) but thought I would add a possible solution as well.
  12. Broken link. You can upload picture directly here on the forum.
  13. For those of us who bounce from one to another, it would be nice to have it be the same. I just make sure when I put my PVA slurry down, I put it that area as well.
  14. And, you could also use gradual infill steps towards a much denser support just below the first layer.
  15. I kinda wonder if turning on the 'bridge functions' in experimental would help with this. Kinda doubt it, but, you never know!
  16. That would be what your per model settings and modifying type would be. For instance, an object and a modifying cube. Take the main object to be printed and apply all the settings in the slicer. Select the modifying cube and choose per model settings. This would let you make a 'no bottom' on the cube. Then go to model type and choose one of the model choices so that the cube would modify the printing behaviour of the main cube. Then place the modifying cube over the main object where you want no bottom layers. This would be how to do this. It allows for the very bottom of the model to print without any bottom layers without affecting the non overlapped areas.
  17. ou pretty much covered it. I would just add that the OP needs to do a series of hot and cold pulls before starting the next print just to really clean out the nozzle.
  18. When I got home, I checked my install and was able to work the slider as I have expected it to. But, I am on a large widescreen. Win10
  19. No pulsing. Ughhhhh....pulsing things really bug my eyes out. Same thing with the lights on the machines. It really is an issue with me. I can see the flicker on TV screens and such.....
  20. "Yeah, I agree, but honestly, I do not have anything that comes close to a suggestion on how to do that.
  21. This would be a standard 4:3 aspect ratio. This would pretty much take up the same room with just a small shift to the right in older versions. In this version, you can close the settings interface and see the whole space. I have all my settings set to visible as well. It would be nice to pull the interface sown a bit to see more of it when in a section. Is this what you refer to?
  22. I just took a look. I think it is a matter of screen size. For instance I am on a wide screen set at standard HD and, not on a laptop. It does jump a bit, but not to the middle of the screen. I am wondering why the move of the slider to the right of the settings dialogue. I do like the fluid movement of the dialogue boxes though. Maybe if the slider went back to the left it would be less intrusive. And, if the settings were closed, the slider could jump all the way to the right. But for the most part, when I am viewing the layers, I have closed the settings to maximize the viewing area anyway.
