  1. Winter Queen

This is a splicer mask printed on my Ultimaker 2 Extended. The mask was used as a prop for a fashion shoot, and I'm hoping to create a coffee table book featuring the prints that I've made on my Ultimaker 2 Extended.

I printed this balustrade part from the Tempietto model using a .25mm nozzle. These pegs are only 14mm tall and 2.2mm at the widest point.

  7. oval

I created this little cutlery design concept.
In around 15/25/30 minutes you can have this design printed out and ready to use.
You can either use it flat as it comes out of the printer (knife/fork), or trow it into some boiling water and shape it a bit more, so you can add the spoon function in there as well, next to ergonomically shaping it more towards fitting it into your hand. Besides, it gives the object that bit more strength.
Just use an existing spoon, press the hot PLA (that you trew into some boiling water for a short moment) in the mould and within a few seconds the shape will freeze.*
    I created a S (small), M (medium) and L (large) version.
The S-version is the smaller, slimmer teaspoon version, while the M version is a bit wider. The L-version is wider and taller.
    * the reason I do this is because you will always have a rough surface using supports. This simple action gives you a clean surface.

  8. Star Trek (original series) phaser prop - midgrade

These are "midgrade" prop replicas (detailed enough to be seen in relative close-up, but no moving parts or electric bits). Printed in ColorFabb Black PLA/PHA and Ultimaker Metallic Silver PLA, then they were sanded and painted. There are a couple of non-printed parts on one of them (a chunk of clear acrylic rod, and a watch crown), but apart from those they were printed on an Ultimaker 2.
The model files (and more detailed information on the finishing process) are available on YouMagine and Thingiverse.

  14. A printed clock

Christoph Laimer posted his clock on Thingiverse a few weeks ago and I eventually decided to have a go at it. A superb design and it actually works, ( although the Swiss watch making industry isn't going to be worried yet    .
It's really a sophisticated design that does need some care in preparing the prints, especially when drilling out the holes. Printed on a UM2 running on default settings. Had to buy a set of micro drills specially for the job, ( about £12 on Ebay for a set of 150 drills ). Typically, for the 2mm pins I drilled the holes out to 2.1mm and got a nice sliding fit. The pins are brass rods from a model shop on Bay. Used Faberdashery Arctic White for the body, blue for the gears and translucent for the main spring. I used the translucent because I thought the plain PLA would be stronger than any of the colours.
Don't forget that Christoph Laimer, ( who designed the clock ) is Swiss. I suspect they start clock making in Switzerland around the age of 5.  :-)

  19. OpenRC 1:10 4WD Truggy Concept R/C Car

Awarded a GrabCAD Golden Gear for "Top Open Engineering Project 2013"!
This an ongoing project of creating a free for all Open Source RC car that can be printed (to a certain extent of course) at your personal FDM printer at home!
I have tried to keep the design basic for easy modification for others in their favourite CAD software
This is really a proof of concept and i´m very pleased with the result even if there is some work left to be done!
Check out the PDF´s for assembly help.

  20. OpenRC 1:10 4WD Touring Concept RC Car

Here´s where it all started, this was my first go at creating a printable rc car which later resulted in the OpenRC Truggy car.
I learned alot from this car and so it is a little bit different. It is has belt drive and is built on a aluminum plate so it is not as "printable" as it´s successor, the Truggy (https://www.youmagine.com/designs/openr-c-1-10-4wd-truggy-concept-r-c-car).

  21. OpenRailway EMD SW1500 1:32 Locomotive

The EMD SW 1500 is a American diesel switcher locomotive made by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division during the 60's and 70's. Some 800 were made and there are several still in serivce in the United States.
This 1:32 scale version of the EMD SW 1500 locomotive is part of "The OpenRailway Project" which is a Open Source initiative to bring more free model trains to the world. While having done several different 3Dprinting projects in the past i needed something with more attention todetail to 3Dprint. Since me and my dad had already built a garden railway (scale 1:32) it felt like a good idea to go for a train. I went to a model train store in Stockholm to discuss what train that might be suitable and after two or three cups of coffee i decided on the EMD SW1500.
Desingwork began by searching for specifications, drawings and pictures. While i din´t have very much luck finding the kind of drawings i initially hoped for (i did find a few) i had to rely heavily on different photos hence some details may be incorrect. Everything is 3D-printed but the handrail which is made from 1,5mm Aluminium welding rod. The are some details that need attention but basically you can print and assemble everyting if you want to own your very own 1:32 SW1500.

  23. square variations (a human touch)

This concept lies within a fabricated 3D printed square that you boil in water for a while and reshape it or sculpt it right away when printing is done.
Every result is an unique variant of the same element trough the human touch that is needed to complete the work, like a marriage between handcraft and technology.
