biljart/snooker element
By neone
This is a concept to turn normal glasses into snooker glasses.
I haven't been involved with snooker for quite a while, simply because I don't have the glasses for them. When you use normal glasses you always tend to look at the frame, or over it which results in a blurry sight, and awful results :-)
The other day I really fancied trying another snooker game so I went looking for some snooker glasses. They turned out to be rather rare and quite expensive. Simply not worth it when you are a casual player.
So the other day I came up with this idea to instead buy glasses, try using an existing frame and pull it more up, so that your eyesight won't interrupt your play.
There is a little slip in it where you connect the frame (bridge) with the element, for more stability. This probably needs altering depending on what frame you use.
I tried it on two frames I had still lying around (thin frames) and it clicks like a charm.
ps This is yet untested in the field :-) but I'm looking forward to have a game of snooker again after all these years.

a petanque pocket counter
By neone
Hi all,
I got sidetracked here for a bit with this little object: a petanque pocket counter.
With numbers from 0 to 13, suitable to keep score in any petanque game.
The little trick I tried to pull off here was that the numbers needed to rotate, but with some friction so that it won't change when it was inside your pocket. This with as less parts and fuss as possible.
I did this trough turning the axis into a 14 sided oval (aligned with the outer 14 sided oval) instead of turning it completely round, giving the needed friction and movability at the same time.
Mind you though, I experienced that the axis still needed some sanding to get it into the right balance.
Other post processing bits: gluing the end part to the axis, give the wheels some color with a marker.

OpenR/C Formula 1 car
By barspin
This is the OpenR/C Formula 1 car. It´s the third generation OpenR/C and this time around focus is on simplicity! You can print everything in PLA except the tires which are done in NinjaFlex! Of course you can print it in any material you like but for those that want to print a car but only have PLA at hand, this is the project for you!

Géode Lamp, plastered with natural clay
By viralata
This a lamp designed in Blender with prodcedural texture to make some bumps on it. It is 3D printed in Colorfabb XT, then the "valleys" are filled with a natural clay plaster, so that the light is stopped or not with the pattern of the texture. The result plays beautifully with light, lighten or not.
It has been designed to print without support.

3D print of hand scan data
By joelmongeon
I used my .25mm nozzle to print this scan data. The results came out quite nice. All of the wrinkles in the hand are nice and clear. A bit of clean up to do with strings between the fingers.

19 small wooden prints of a village
By viralata
This is the model of the village where our fablab is located (St Cyr de Favières). Modelled with Blender from aerial views, pictures and map, with the aim to make the village easy to recognize.
We wanted to make 19 of them, as a gift to the 19 mayors of the villages with the same name as the one of our fablab, as they gathered for their annual meeting.
The big print was too long, so we reduced it a little to stay under the 5 hours per print limit.

Woodfill Village model, big
By viralata
This is the model of the village where our fablab is located (St Cyr de Favières). Modelled with Blender from aerial views, pictures and map, with the aim to make the village easy to recognize. The print with woodfill makes it quite different from the white colorfabb version: less details but the feeling is very nice

Original size of the robot is 75 cm. I scaled it back to 35 %, about 25 cm in hight.
All parts are 3D scanned and printed on UM2+ with a total printing time of aprox. 65 hours.

Finally tried out my spool of Colorfabb Woodfill. It wasn't as tricky to use as I expected, and it looks and feels really nice! Definitely on my list of favorite filaments.
