  1. It places them like the second image for both of the files for me. The 3Dmodel file is indeed the only place where locations / models are stored.
  2. We've created a plugin that can collect performance data. Since Cura behaves differently on different hardware, it would help us find out what is going wrong if you can collect this data and send it to us. You can find it here: https://marketplace.ultimaker.com/app/cura/plugins/UltimakerPackages/ExtensiveSupportLogging

  5. The white dots are to indicate where the start / stops of an extrusion are.
  6. That is stringing, right? I'm perhaps a bit confused as to what you mean.
  7. I'd print with an ooze shield. That generally helps with accidental leaking of one nozzle.
  8. You don't even have to use support blockers. Any mesh will do for this.
  9. You're going to have to provide a little bit more information. What machine are you using?
  10. Use less triangles 😉 The model has more detail than the machine will ever be able to handle. There are various software packages out there that can simplify meshes.
  11. It's added as a tool. You can see it in action the site of the author: http://lokspace.eu/cura-custom-supports-plugin/
  12. We can't either if you don't provide any log files.
  13. He's so humble 😉 Anyhow, we ship it with Zeroconf 0.31, so upgrading it to 0.37 might solve the issue. If it does, I'd love to know so we can also fix it in our releases!
  14. Het kraken kan van de panelen komen. Je zou kunnen proberen om de schroeven wat extra aan te draaien.
  15. Fair. But next time I would suggest using a title like "Reasons why I keep switching between Cura and Prusa". I think that would have been clearer.
  16. Issues are also best reported on our github repo, since it also provides a nice template that guides you through the process. You can find some info about the logs here: https://github.com/ultimaker/cura#logging-issues
  17. I would recommend looking at the Ultimaker Marketplace (https://marketplace.ultimaker.com/app/cura/materials?fillings=carbon_fiber&machine_variant=Ultimaker S3&page=1), since those are materials that have purpose built profiles and have been verified to work.
  18. Without logs we can't say what is going on.
  19. Wall line count should increase the amount of walls. Do you have a project file that reproduces the issue?
  20. Outer wall is the wall that, when looking in the XY plane, is the outermost wall. Skin is the area when looking from the bottom / top. So a skin area still has a outermost wall.
  21. We constantly tweak settings and algorithms. So it could well be that prints are suddenly a lot faster or their quality has improved. The reverse can, unfortunately also happen. We try to test as much as possible, but it's impossible to test all cases. In some cases we also have to make tradeoffs (eg; making a specific rare/ uncommon thing worse in favor of making a more common thing a lot better)
  22. The arachne version of Cura is much better at printing features like this: https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018439500-Ultimaker-Cura-Arachne-engine-beta-version In both versions you should ensure that "print thin walls" is enabled.
  23. Only default_value is used by the engine. So if you set value to be "0.4" or "=some_other_setting", it will be ignored and default_value is used instead.
