My worry is twisting or doing anything to anger the Bowden tube!

The wrath of the bowden tube can be fierce!

But I think there is no harm in trying.. worst case scenario you won't hear a difference or a print will fail. The feeder is intended to be easily taken out so that is ok.

You could also look into what @neotko suggested and add some foam or a cloth in between.

What spacers do you have in between your X and Y motor? U-shaped spacers or cylindrical ones?

I crushed the end of my index finger in some old equipment that had no guarding at work yesterday. My fault, I was more thinking about a printer design then what i was doing. The bone fractured and its a bit messy. So to stop me knocking the end of my finger all the time, I printed a splint with a bulb end. It looks a bit rude but does the job.

Lol, thanks @danilius well, heres one more for the kids then, lol! Presents are just polystyrene blocks cut into squares as 3d printing that would simply be a waste of time. the sleigh is also 3d printed. went a little heavy on the paint but it looks ok in the vid.

Wow awesome stuff all around! I haven't posted much in a while : /

    Here's my paltry offerings.

    IMG_20151105_180300-1024x576.jpg

I have like a ton different colors that are semi-used up, they have 2 states, automatically unwinding itself, or unstackable because the ends of the filament are strung through the little holes on the side. Oh so frustrating!

So I made this clip thingie so the loop stays on the inside of the reel so I can continue to stack the reels but they won't unravel themselves into a tangle. And you can clip them anywhere on the reel instead of just where the holes are.

    It's the little things sometimes!

We're going to a fair next week, so we stole Ultimaker's idea to print the UM robot at different sizes and nozzles, but keeping the print time the same to show one of the applications for the Olsson block. 30 minutes on each print (except for the wee one, that was a bit longer as I printed three for good measure).

Nice prints, whats your layer height speed temp and nozzle size out of curiosity? Your smooth layer heights make it look very clean. I think i have dirt in my main screw now after a few failed prints. All the dust went into the centre. looks like you keep your printer in good condition! You gotta paint your prints! Toys should be in colour!

Some ultra close ups would be nice ;)

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
