  1. Looks pretty cool, I'll make sure to share it with the team
  2. Hi @zerspaner_gerd, I'm sorry but your point is not really clear to me. Your links go to two different pages. One seems to be the german overview, and the other one just the latest activity. Could you explain what is not working for you? I checked some random pagination navigation, but that seemed to work just fine.
  3. Hi @CwSutherland, welcome to the forums What you are referring to is called a prime tower. In Cura if you go to advanced print set up and scroll down to Dual Extrusion you will see it enabled. It is being used to wipe of any residue that might came out oozing. By printing a layer in the tower you create sufficient pressure in the printhead too, before your print core will be used to print in your model again and it is ready to go!
  4. Very good, thank you Still kicking it with Ultimaker
  5. It does add time to the process because all of the sudden you are dealing with print head switches, heating up and cooling down, a prime tower and a lot of more support to be printed. But it should not change 2h into 13h. If I am not mistaken it was mentioned somewhere that this was an inaccuracy in Cura or smthn. But I bet Ronan has experienced it himself by now? Did you actually give that print a go @Ronan?
  6. Hi Ian, We launched it on October 18th so it has been approximately one month. We physically started shipping it not too long after the launch. How are you doing nowadays? Still using an Ultimaker in your new business?
  7. Hi Zwakie, thank you for your reply. My first guess is that the cable is not properly inserted. It is not the most convenient angle, but do you think it is possible to post a photo on how you inserted the cable into the socket? It has a flat side, to what side is this pointed to? Is it all the way in? Looking forward hearing from you!
  8. Lets see how we can bring those numbers down, but first wait to see what happens with your current tuned down to 1100. Lets see if it finishes a couple of prints successfully and if there is any layershift at all.
  9. Hi Thomllama, could you share a screenshot of what settings you have enabled for retraction? Does this happen all the time, or just with this specific model? It can be that your mesh has a lot of vertices at some locations in your mesh. As a quick fix, you could run it through an online repair tool and see if that changes anything. Good luck!
  10. Hi @Yoter, ohhhh you jinxed it! Never underestimate the power of a jinx. I must say it catches me too on occasion.. A workflow where you have to pause your Ultimaker after a few hours to let it cool down is not a workflow we wish upon our users. If that is what it resorts too we must have overlooked a better solution. Did you already try to do a couple of prints with the current down to 1100? Are your belts still tight, if your print is always kinda off? It could also indicate a problem with your stepperdrivers / motors. How off are your prints? Is it something you can show in a photo? Has your printer always printed with the same equipment as where it stands now, and what it uses now?
  11. Thanks! Is there any difference in how it adheres to PLA / Nylon? Or maybe even ABS? Or how it dissolves in water?
  12. Wouldn't it also help to use some kind of vibration when you just created the cast so all the air goes out on top?
  13. I guess the gantry that only moves the head around and not the entire print (when the bed moves in X for example) results in a more accurate print with a better surface quality. With a heavy printhead it could lead to other disruptions in the surface quality like ringing, but the Ultimaker is equipped with a fairly light printhead too. Downside is, for example printing with flexible materials is more complex (not impossible though). But that depends on what you need as a user, if this something you care about.
  14. Hi Yellowshark, thank you for your feedback. Just by moving it to the X, not even pressing it? I will forward it immediately and see if there is something we can do about it!
  15. We are a few steps away to making it much faster! .. does it sound like I am repeating myself? Several attempts have been made in the past, which led to various results, maybe depending on where you are located here on this big globe. We are preparing for a migration of servers which should make the site much faster for everyone! (preparation is unfortunately not a one-night thing..) However this should not lead to a 500 error message. Does it happen often, just this day, only once? Thanks Paul! On a side note, I am curious to see some updates on your BB8!
  16. Hi @StinkyStinker, welcome to the forums! Nice nickname by the way. Makes me appreciate we are on a forums again It really depends on what you want to make and what level of experience you are bringing to the table. There is a difference between a sculpting tool like Zbrush, and a CAD tool like Solidworks. Those are both pretty high level. On a lower level, dropping way down, you have intuitive tools like tinkercad which are free and very easy to use. It won't allow you to model a new David or Da Vinci device, but for some basic models which require some measurements it works pretty well. I have used it many times when I need a simple model. I am currently trying to learn Zbrush, mostly coming from a personal interest to the sculpting (I guess that is the best motivation). And have used Blender (also free) in the past. It has a lot of tutorials which should help you get on your way. Good luck!
  17. ahh too bad! Well, I believe you have carpooled before. Maybe if you can find the time you will be able to find your way to Protospace. Otherwise, I would be happy to see you again next time! (Cura has a lot of interesting new features too. Quite some apply to the Ultimaker 3 / dual, but not all. That would still be interesting for you I think.)
  18. I have fixed the link, could you try again? It has a lot of useful tips like: Recommended settings Temperatures Ultimaker PVA requires a build plate temperature of 60 °C when printed as a single material. If PVA is printed as a support material, just use the build plate temperature required for the accompanying build material (see the table below). A nozzle temperature between 215-225 °C is used for the Ultimaker PVA print profiles in Cura for the Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker 3 Extended. For the best results, select the right Ultimaker 3 printer in Cura. When printing via Wi-Fi in a print farm setting it is crucial to select the proper Ultimaker 3 printer. The right print cores will be automatically detected by the Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker 3 Extended. The NFC chip on the new Ultimaker material spools will automatically load the correct material and printing settings in Cura. PVA - PLA 215ºC-225ºC. Bed: 60ºC. PVA brim, cooling speed 50% PVA - Nylon 215ºC-225ºC Bed: 60ºC PVA raft, cooling speed 50% For best results, use 50% print cooling fan speed while PVA is being printed.
  19. @Yoter, you can also reduce the current on your motors to 1100, they will get less hot that way. You can do this by going to Maintenance > Advance > Motion Settings Hopefully this helps too, good to hear your other fixes also paid off!
  20. Thanks for sharing Korneel, quite a nice set up you have going on there. And not too long ago I think I saw that closet filled with Ultimaker 2+'s. Did they already depart to the school? Why do you like Ice PVA better? Any noticeable difference? Would be interesting to know. @Ronan, nice tank! How big is it? Good to hear the closet works as intended. And you can still check the progress using your phone or Cura
22. Hi @SandervG, thanks for passing on the feedback, others may benefit from it My UM3 is getting close to running perfect. I have not yet checked the NFC recognition, and the 'drooping' X-belt aft of the front panel need to be fixed (see another topic on the forum for details on this). The ticking noise is (almost) gone by manually leveling the build plate (I did that in a bit of a rush, so for now I am assuming that the last tiny bit of kicking noise will disappear once I have done that accurately. In summary: I'm quite happy with the UM3 apart from the few minor issues remaining that hopefully will be fixed shortly. Thanks for asking! Cool! Very happy to hear that. I'll check out your other post and make sure to reach out if you need help fine-tuning those last tweaks. Any prints you can share with us that you made with your Ultimaker 3?
  23. Hi @SandervG I just got an email from them saying Ultimaker has told them to offer me a spool of filament is that correct a spool of filament for a cosmetically damaged £3000 printer ? I would at least expect a complementary core ;-) Hi Cor3ys, thank you for your reply. Good to hear that you have a reply so at least the ball is rolling, and the most important thing is that your Ultimaker 3 is working like it should. (Based on the pictures of the prints you have included in your first post). About the offer, usually we don't go about 'telling someone to offer this or that' and we try to find a reasonable and mutual solution. We're sorry your Ultimaker 3 has arrived with some damage to the frames. If you are not satisfied with the offer you should feel free to tell this to your reseller as its customer and I am pretty sure we can come to a solution. Feel free to send me a DM if you need more information or share some more insights. Have a great day, and I am pretty sure we'll work it all out!
