  1. Hi @Tennet, thank you for your post and welcome to the forums I am happy to hear you are a satisfied user of your Ultimaker 2+ but I can see how the recent launch of the new Ultimaker 3 can leave a bitter taste. We will continue to support the Ultimaker 2+, so you shouldn't worry about it being replaced by the Ultimaker 3. The machines will live and perform next to each other. An important question to ask yourself, what do you need an Ultimaker for. Does the Ultimaker 2+ give you this? I can understand that you would have preferred to choose your Ultimaker model by knowing the entire picture. Even if it meant you would have still chosen the Ultimaker 2+, because it is such a reliable 3D printer with an excellent track record you would have at least made a choice. I get that. The reseller was indeed prevented to make any statements about future releases. But that doesn't mean we have reached a dead end now. At Ultimaker we always want to look after our customers, they are the reason why we do things and why we were even able to develop the Ultimaker 3. If you are still interested in getting an Ultimaker 3 (instead of an Ultimaker2+), I would like to ask you to send me a DM with the following information: - your contact details - what Ultimaker model you bought - when you bought it - and at which reseller We will contact you and together we can see if we can find a reasonable and mutual solution. Our community is very dear to us, and so is your satisfaction Hopefully this helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!
  2. We would. Everyone in the R&D department takes great care to assign attribution where it's due. Not just R&D, that goes for all of Ultimaker
  3. Wow, really impressive model you made! I can't imagine this being the first puppet / model you have made? Have you 3D Printed others?
  4. Thanks @Bez! Good read, sorry to hear your tire resulted in such a drawback! You printed it in PLA right? Did you also consider printing it in TPU? Or Nylon? We now support a couple of materials which can withstand more wear and tear than PLA, perhaps something you could consider some day. And even bending a 8mm axle, wow. Do you know how fast it was going at the time?
  5. Thank you for the detailed explanation! Not being easily pleased I guess is what got you to this level in surface quality. But being realistic should also show you that that print looks pretty awesome If you ever want to change to 1.75mm I believe GR5 sells a kit to do so. But if you didn't feel great about installing an olsson block for another 0.4mm nozzle, maybe going to 1.75mm is quite a big step? It is far less rigid than 2.85mm filament and with the bowden tube it is a whole new adjusting what is needed.
  6. Hi @Mechaneil, wow some very impressive prints coming from your side! Did you model of them yourself? What are you using them for? Curious to see what they will look like after post processing. I am guessing you are also going to paint them? Great work, please keep them coming!!
  7. double post is also noted! Redirecting of notification has been bugging us for a while, very difficult to solve. But this week we discovered a new trace, hopefully it will bring us closer to a fix!
  8. update: email should be fixed now
  9. The newest or 'latest greatest' is always appealing, but your reasons to buy the Ultimaker 2+ still stand it you have selected a very reliable 3D printer with a big userbase and superb track record. What have you been printing so far? @LePaul, have you upgraded to an Ultimaker 2+ by now?
  10. Hi Bob, thank you for your message. I have seen one other report for IE11 where there were difficulties logging in. Our apologies for the inconvenience. I have send a request to check for any complications in IE11. Not happy to hear you haven't received a reply to your emails. Where did you send an email to? Thank you!
  11. Thanks for notifying us! LePaul also told me just now, and after checking neither have I. (They don't end up in my inbox anymore, since I am here every day anyway ) About the logging in, I also have seen one other report on this. He updated his browser and then it worked. I will see if there are any complications with IE11. Could you upload a screenshot of your login screen? Our apologies for the inconvenience.
  12. Thanks, I checked and neither have I. Looking into it! Thanks for notifying us.
  13. You mean the information under your name? The rest of the text has only gained in contrast so I would be inclined to think that made it easier to read?
  14. @Gr5 used to have a kit in his shop available. You should ask him for more information, but I think this is the link.
  15. Patience. A shit load of it :PAnd custom designed/printed pliers to fit inside. I'd love to see a picture of the printed version with support. Currently we are a bit busy I am pretty sure we don't have it lying around but perhaps one of my colleagues still has the g-code somewhere. Somewhere after the 18th I'll ask around
  16. Well actually, that model is printed with single extrusion. As you can see here, @Illuminarti did it in 2013 already. We used custom supports for easy removal.
  17. Hi Paul, What menu do you want to be optional? The Dashboard / forum / 3D prints / etc? Personally, I think (quick) navigating is very important and this menu allows you to quickly switch between pages. Do you ever use these pages or are you mostly solely hanging around on the forum anyway? We'll keep the support / send comment in mind. Maybe a different color or shape could help. We can look into that. Has the forum always been slow, or does it seem slower? I believe we had some things prepared that potentially could make it faster again. Thanks for your feedback!
  18. Next to our successful Ultimaker 2 family, another dynasty will be added shortly. Just a few more days until we can really get to know it, but we figured we could already start showing what it can do. In the next few days I will update this thread with some new shots and video's that reveal something. We feel this machine is a great fit for the industries where there is a need to print even more complex things than what was ever possible before. The next era of 3D printing is about to land, make sure you have a front row seat video 1 video 2 video 3 video 4 If you have watched and inspected our video's closely, but you are still eager for more, join us while we make a trip down to memory-lane. See what the last 5 years have done for Ultimaker. 'It all started with a RepRap project that served as a true inspiration for many creative thinkers, among them 3 fellas with a bright future ahead of them...'
  19. Hi @Nilrog, thank you for your posts. I also use chrome and I have none of those issues. What kind of OS are you running? The Login tab where you can sign up or login (in Chrome) sounds normal. Our apologies for the inconvenience. There are a few bugs we are fixing this / next week: - Show amount of notifications at bell - Distinguish 'unread' from 'view last' in overview - Sending DM to a user for the first time can trigger error message. A DM to a user you have messaged before is no problem. - We'll look into the speed, shouldn't have been affected by these changes.
  20. It sounds like the rod that should trigger the switch (what you are doing manually) is not triggering the switch. It is possible that the printhead reaches the frame before the rod reaches the switch, hences the 'grinding'. Therefore I would first suggest to try and bend the lever of the switch a little bit outwards so the rod can reach it, before the head reaches the frame. This wouldn't require a lot of force, be gentle with your Ultimaker 2 Go
  21. Whoo, looks amazing!! How did you print it? Care to turn it into a 3D Print upload?
