  1. Hi @Karel1986, thank you for your post and welcome to the forums! The error message is an indication that during the creation of the STL files / CAD modeling the point of origin was not clearly identified. Hence Cura does not know what the bottom is for example, and how these models should behave together. Perhaps you can find some more help in regard of SolidWorks here. If you want to get printing and try dual extrusion, here is a library with available dual extrusion models.
  2. Thank you for the feedback. We'll look into making it clearer there is a difference between CPE and CPE+, and particularly in terms of profiles for the Ultimaker 3. It doesn't mean you have to throw away your reel of CPE+. The profiles are not optimized yet, but you could still use it. A matter of selecting the right settings yourself. The only thing you should look into, is closing of the front so there is less draft. In terms of settings: Bed should be around 110ºC and the printhead around 260ºC. Guidelines can be found here: https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/22230-how-to-print-with-ultimaker-cpe-plus Alternatively, you could put the reel of CPE+ aside, until the profile and door is available.
  3. Sounds like you have big plans, interesting! I have also seen the results and they indeed look promising. Foehnsturm is a pretty smart guy I read you got it from ebay. Was it from an official reseller? You are of course free to buy where ever you prefer, but I just checked and didn't see one listed after a quick search. (I mean, even on of our moderators is a true China-fan, right @Neotko?) Just make sure that if it is not an official product, the specs are somewhat close to what they should be.
  4. Hi @Krasnoyask, Thank you for your reply. Kuddo's to 3DGBIRE acting so fast and the excellent service. I can only assume you have contacted them again about this? I took the liberty to forward these photo's to our quality control. If they can contribute to optimize the process and prevent this from ever happening again, I think that is all we can wish for. For you, I could go by every point and give you some advice on how to fix it, but I think (again) that is not what you paid for. I would like to suggest to get in touch with your reseller again and I am pretty sure they will sort it out for you. Our apologies for the inconvenience. 3DGBIRE is an excellent partner, which they have already proven with your initial issue, and I'm sure they won't let you down this time either. I'll send them a note too, just to make sure you are on the radar and we'll get you back to 3D printing in no time! Apologies? Check. Wishing you a great day? Check! Let me know if you have any further questions.
  5. Hi Melka, I don't know if you still have your Ultimaker 3, or if it is already on its way back to Makershop, but if you do, could you share your serial number with me through a DM? After forwarding your issues with quality control, that is what they asked for. It is important information to optimize the process. I also double checked your sliderblock crack, and I heard that it could happen by transport but there were 2 other reasons. 1 could be that during assembly too much force was applied, and 2; because of the friction you already mentioned you felt. We took precautions so this should not happen anymore, hence also the request for the serial number. Your replacement should be fine! Thirdly, I also asked for the checksum validation. Haven't received a reply yet, will let you know as soon as I do Our apologies for the inconveniences with your Ultimaker. Makershop is an excellent partner and I am sure they will take good care of you! Let me know if you have any further questions.
  6. Hi @Yoter, Good to hear that your prints are looking good! Since you can replicate the issue by removing your current work around I think we can say with confidence that we are on the right track. Because the Y stepper driver is located in between the X and Z, and you said your prints usually are longer on Y, it could make sense that this is where most challenges lie. Because it is located in between the X and Z, it can have more difficulties relieving itself from the heat. I don't think you have to worry about any further degradation now that it is set to 1100, but if you want to be prepared for the future you could consider replacing your pcb. Because you have also replaced the stepper motors, and reducing the current paid off, the problem must lie there. I don't think there is an immediate threat, so it is totally up to you when you feel comfortable replacing your pcb. Have a great day!
  7. It makes sense that a grouped / combined selection of parts is cheaper than buying everything individually, no? Same goes for buying in bulk or basically any 'kit' instead of all parts from that kit individually. It is way more work for a reseller to collect all parts, pack them etc while this prepared and pre-packed product lies just next to him. When the Extrusion upgrade just was released, a few calculations were made (here on the forums) and the price really is not that bad for all the parts that are included. In the end, it all comes down to, how badly do you want to participate in this project and is it worth the investment. That is something only you can answer. (and remember, it is beta. Not a finished community project. Which is also different from an official product. Just making sure this is clear.) - To answer your next question, I don't think Tinkergnome's model is available yet, it is still being tested.
  8. I understood they should commonly be available from December through our partners. I'll send you a DM.
  9. Important to note is that HIPS does not dissolve in water but you need some other liquid (D-Limonene) which you also can not (If I am not mistaken) just dispose down the drain.
  10. thanks, but the idear on the network is to send files and to use the camera at the off-hourse printing, The mobile option does not add any fjnction as i see it now. And unless you set up a VPN network (@UltiArjan did it) the monitoring only works when you are logged in on the same network as your Ultimaker 3 is connected to.
  11. Hi Limburgmetaal, thank you for reply. Looking for a machine that can use PVA, you have made the right choice! PVA is not as an easy or straightforward material as for example, PLA. With some proper guidelines I am pretty sure you will be able to avoid the warping too. You are lucky @Korneel is here as well, as he already is growing to become an Ultimaker 3 expert (owning.. 3?) @limburgmetaal, could you guide us through your workflow? How do you level your bed? Do you do it manually or with assistive leveling? Have you tried both? And do you use an adhesive? Secondly, what settings do you use for PVA? Where is your Ultimaker 3 located? Ambient temperature could be of influence if for example, there is a big draft or if it is in a very cold room. Thanks!
  12. ABS and PVA are not an ideal combination, if you are looking for strength I could highly recommend to use Nylon and PVA. It doesn't because of the ABS behaves very different from for example PLA and Nylon, it forms no bond with PVA, so it kinda just lies on top of it. With PLA and Nylon there is a connection between the two materials which makes it stick. You could very well use ABS/ABS if you are making a dual color print. But for support material it is not ideal. Good luck!
  13. Hi @AlexW, how is your Ultimaker 3 doing now? A grind probably also has some sharp edges and curling shreds of filament, and they can catch an edge somewhere in the printcore or on its way to it. I would not recommend to just insert 1.75mm filament, to do that reliably your printer would need more modifications.
  14. Hi Melka, Thank you for your reply. Did you send over your file by wifi? In that case it does not store your file. I think your cracked sliderblocks is damage that are caused by transport. This is indeed something I would suggest to let your reseller fix. Do you still have your Ultimaker 3, or is it already on its way to your reseller? Did you already export a log? Perhaps it could pinpoint us into the right direction for the midprint stop. However, I think it was most likely a power glitch. This is how you can get a log: Go to: System > maintenance > diagnostics > dump log to usb. Looking forward hearing from you!
  15. The brim is actually printed out of PLA every time (aka core 1 material). That's the default setting on my cura. you are allowed to change settings Seriously I agree when choosing a pla pva profile the default brim and support should be on pva True, but if it works.. it works
  16. Hi John, Good to hear from you. I think the best source would be here on the forums. Just checked, looks like 3D Solex site is offline for maintenance so no help there (atm). Just changing the nozzle diameter can and should be done in Cura, depending on which version you use you should look for line width or nozzle diameter. But if you go to a 0.15mm nozzle, that is not the only thing you should change. You should be really accurate with the temperature you'll use, and the flowrate. At this size, over extrusion is likely to happen. You probably realize print times will be through the roof, but the results can be equally impressive. But printing with such a nozzle and the corresponding print profile is for experts. If you are not sure, you could ask around here on the forums if people have used it already. I saw @Gr5 sells it, so maybe he has some specific tips?
  17. Hi @Krasnoyask, welcome to the forums! And definitely, I would love to see some pictures of what you made I forwarded your message to my colleague who is collecting all feedback in terms of quality control etc, and it will certainly be used to optimize our processes even further. Like mentioned above, the pulley is something you could fix yourself, but I don't think you must. It is not what you would expect from Ultimaker, however I can also imagine you maybe don't want to be without your Ultimaker 3 for some time when you just got it. So maybe you prefer to do it yourself. I will leave this up to you. If you need any help determining where you should report when you want it to be fixed by an Ultimaker official, or if you need any instructions if you want to do it yourself, let me know! Happy to read your are satisfied with the print quality, not rendering your feedback as irrelevant, but that is what matters! Looking forward hearing from you!
  18. I understand up until now it was kinda in between whether partners sold the feeder or not. But from December you should be able to get it from every partner of us. In case you don't have any parts lying around yet, it would make sense to buy a full extrusion upgrade (if you already have an ultimaker 2+). You need like literally all parts in there, except the housing of the printhead which will be replaced by some 3D printed parts.
  19. Yes it is possible, however there must be two print cores in the Ultimaker 3. In Cura you can select which print core / extruder you want to use to build your model.
  20. Hi @Melka, Thank you for your message. Sorry to hear your print stopped halfway. Was this the first time it happened, or did other prints stop halfway too? Like @Neotko says, a log would be very helpful to understand what happened. Perhaps something went wrong during slicing and the g-code was corrupted, or perhaps a glitch in the power supply. Lets see if the log can tell us more. The nozzle looks like you could clean rather easily with a paper towel when it is hot. Don't burn your fingers, but warm it up enough so it gets soft and you can just wipe this filament off. There are also quite some positive reviews about the Ultimaker 3 already, so I like to think of it more as an incident. If it has happened before, and you can not trust it with long prints, we should definitely look into how to fix that for you because like you said; the Ultimaker 3 is a reliable and trustworthy machine. So should be yours. Looking forward hearing from you!
  21. Thank you for your words, I am very happy to read you are so content with your Ultimaker 3! Keep us updated about your experience, and the various things you have tried! Perhaps interesting for other viewers, regarding ABS and PET. Did you use custom settings or did you tweak them? How did they relate to the settings you used on your Ultimaker 2+? Were any changes based on your own experiences or instructions that came with that filament?
  22. Let me pitch that idea.. and I'll let you know how it goes ok?
  23. Thanks! I forwarded it again. Ah @tinkergnome and @zerspaner_gerd, I get it now. Super weird! Thanks!
  24. Argh, you and your double posts Yes, we will bring one or two
