  1. I have build a few Ultimaker Originals and I also always spray painted them. (If I painted them..) I think it is cleaner and way faster. (plus I love the smell:p)
  2. @IRobertI, thanks! Hi @Namgorf, thank you for your post. Did you place your order in our webshop or through a reseller? In case you have placed your order with us, could you forward me your ordernumber and contact details? If you placed your order with one of our dedicated partners, I would recommend to get in touch with them and work towards a solution. Looking forward hearing from you, thanks!
  3. by the way.. anyone else noticing how fast the home page is all of the sudden?
  4. Yes we are looking into merging the notifications. From the top of my mind, you will have the option to select what you want to be notified about. Like Tags, Quotes, Likes, Replies etc. You can also say, how you want to be notified and when. Merging the notifications was a bit complexer than one may think, but it is still on our list. Like combining if 1 reply holds a quote, tag and reply.
  5. A little late at the party, but great job! Did you install the Olsson Block as well? With your own temp sensor? What are those things on the back, above the power chord? That is one awesome looking Ultimaker you made! I am curious to see what you are going to print, which 'justifies' these hacks. (besides no head aches (that is a referral to the closed frame and your hot end problems) )
  6. Thanks for your input. Good idea, I will put it on the list!
  7. Did @Foehnsturm 's suggestion make any difference? I am also inclined to think it has to do with retraction. For a minute I thought it could also be that your bowden could not be fully inserted (like a very small gab) between the bowden tube and PTFE Teflon part, but that would probably result in under extrusion, not stringing. It could be that your temp sensor is off by a few degrees, but based on your earlier pictures by upping or lowering the temp you don't really clear the stringing, you are getting closer to under extrusion. What I understand is that the gcode is set for retraction, but it looks like it isn't doing it. So, if the feeder doesn't grip the filament with sudden movement, a loose set screw could make sense. It is shown on this image: By opening the feeder you can get access to this sleeve. Note that by removing the feeder case, your motor will probably fall in the inside of your Ultimaker. By simply removing that cover (1 screw is on the bottom) you can mount it back when finished. Let us know how it goes! .. it could also be that your tension in the feeder is just way off. Have you experimented with that white lever on the side? (there is a set screw - hole on top of the feeder to change tension).
  8. Hi Everyone, I wanted to share with you the latest update regarding the Ultimaker forum. Today we finished beta testing and it has proven to be an excellent and rewarding cycle once again. Together we gathered quite some notes and feedback which we need to be addressed. After a consult with our developers today, collectively looking at the feedback, they said they needed an extra day to process the feedback before they would feel comfortable going live. Looking at the original planning, this would mean we wouldn't go live Thursday, but Friday. We have learned from both our own experience and feedback we got that it is probably / usually not a good idea to go live on Friday, just before the weekend. For that reason, we prefer to be rather safe than sorry and we have pushed back the launch of this phase to Monday 24th of August. Like originally planned we will have developers available in case anything pops up. If you have any questions about this project, feel free to ask! After the weekend we will have a new and clearer overview, email notifications and much more! For one, I am excited!!
  9. Hi @taikonaught, how is it going? Did you manage to sort it out?
  10. Hi Tony, it is not made only for Ultimaker printers, but you have to understand we can only dedicate our precious time to implement our own hardware. Just like with the previous version, we didn't launch with other brands, but when those profiles send to us we can include them.
  11. Hi @marshall433, What video's are you referring to with LTT/LLT? Whatever it is that is causing your printer to stop/fail, I am sure we can isolate the problem and get you back to 3D printing. Regardless of an potential new Ultimaker 2 Extended, you should get your Ultimaker 2 back in shape too. Could you share with us some pictures of what your failed prints look like? What is your current situation with the motors? Does it still go on, or is their a problem with the electronics? Looking forward hearing from you, so we can move towards a solution! @Labern, great to hear it looks like your Ultimaker 2 Go is working great! Keep me updated
  12. Hi @UltiBeet, thank you for your messages. My apologies for the lack of response. Don't know if someone gave you a heads up, or if you guessed but I was indeed out on a holiday for 3 weeks and visited Fab11 in Boston, a gathering of FabLabs. All combined this gave me limited time to check up on the forums, leading to a lot of notifications. I am afraid for some reason I have missed this one. My apologies for the inconvenience. I would still like to offer my / our help. Could you send me a DM with your email so we can contact you? Depending on some details regarding your Ultimaker and order we could look into replacing those parts for you, or work towards a different solution.
  13. We love to shine our spotlight on those who are using Ultimakers to make a real difference to people’s lives. One such story is that of e-NABLE. Made up of a global network of over 5,000 volunteers, e-NABLE designs, prints and donates “helper hands” free of charge to children and adults using Ultimaker printers. They work closely with people to find a 3D printer near them to print and assemble the pieces, or the hand files can be downloaded and printed at home. Pretty cool huh? This is empowering thousands of people like Luke Dennison, or as he’s known by his friends, Little Cool Hand Luke. Get to know Luke and read his story here. I have posted the accompanying video below. Enjoy!
  14. Hi Guys, I also received 3 similar messages. They shouldn't have been send out (yet), but due to an accidental connection with the live host a couple of notifications were send out, like @theDeugd explained. What you have received was just a mere example of what the email notifications will offer. You will be able to choose from different settings, and @kolia you might be happy to know there is also an (pre)view setting available. Once beta testing has been completed we will go live and not just a few, but we will all receive notifications when our favorite topics get a reply. This will probably be next week.
  15. I am recovering! I asked and am told that around mid Oktober the files will be available. Originally I thought it would be earlier, but the rule of thumb is that the files will be released 6 months after the first units are being shipped out, which was in fact in May. Hence, the files will be uploaded in github in Oktober.
  16. No, it's an option but not needed, the metal one of UM2 will work fine. People change it because the UM2 version is not symetrical, as it was designed for dual extruders, which we now know will not happen on the UM2, so a symmetrical version in metal available from UM2 would still be very nice (@SandervG) I know, so far I haven't been able to get everyone on board. There are other priorities.
  17. Hi @lepaul, if you ever receive spam again you can notify me about it, or one of the other moderators. Just like Nallath did. Thank you!
  18. haha yes it is a very fun event! Not that many guests as a 3D printshow or Makerfaire but a lot of smart people and spontaneous events and workshops. Very interactive and free. Today we had to evacuate because of a hurricane thread or whatever, but it all ended well. Tomorrow it is @Foehnsturm's turn for the workshop, we'll learn all about his magnetic interchangable printhead
  19. Well, at the very least all that effort resulted in some very beautiful pictures!! Sometimes new tricks, like filling take long and are a pain but when you are more used to it, know what to expect and know the results it is a great skill to have!
