On the other hand I also don't expect PU to be released anytime soon with Daid being assigned to the UM2 dual extrusion development. I'm pretty sure that Cura 14.09 is not the last version with the present GUI.

I don't expect one python line to be the same in traditional Cura and PU. Daid really began from scratch again with PU. The CuraEngine is much more future-proof. I recently saw Daid submitting changes to both the master and the PU branch of the CuraEngine.

It might be interesting to do these tests with different PLA brands. Which one did you test?

Der mittlere ist nie aus beim UM2 (ausser die Stromzufuhr ist unterbrochen ). Ansonsten ist der entsprechende GCODE für den End.gcode 'M107'. Weitere Infos über die GCODEs findest Du http://reprap.org/wiki/G-code.

Als UMO-Besitzer sage ich natürlich nein... Aber man muss halt an die eine oder andere Einstellung mehr beim Slicen denken. Und das automatisierte Startprozedere beim UM2 entfällt, d.h. es muss ein eigener Start-GCODE verwendet werden. @Nicolinux hat mal einen Anlauf genommen, den UM2-Startgcode zu reproduzieren. Am besten suchst Du mit Google nach dem entsprechenden Thread, die Forum-interne Suche taugt nichts.

Nein, GCode-Flavor ändern bedeutet, dass Du den Flavor in den machine settings (Menu File oder Menu Machine) umstellst.

Hast Du RepRap oder RepRap volumetric ausgewählt? Durchmesser und Flow kannst Du ansonsten ja auch am UM2 einstellen wenn Du den Flavor auf UltiGCode lässt.

It might be better to do the Fairphone badge than the Ultimaker samples badge on 3DHubs. I didn't have one UM sample order so far. But I had a lot of Fairphone cases (I actually printed more Fairphone cases than a permille of the Fairphones sold worldwide). I could imagine that Fairphones are also sold in larger numbers in the Netherlands. In my case it helped me that I could offer a large number of colors. But the real accelerators are good reviews from real clients (I think most people ignore those from the certifications and from Marvin).

OK. Shipment then doesn't play a role...

Or they may have considered the shipment charges. Shipment from the Netherlands to Switzerland is quite expensive, maybe also to UK? Shipment to Germany is close to nothing and from a certain number of spools it's free iirc.

It's not on the number of Colorfabb products you offer. I have only XT (transparent and one color) and - uhhm - have neither 10% nor 15%... But I had a great number of prints during the last three months.

Hübsche Geschichte, aber leider nicht ganz richtig. Dass die Temperatur beim UM2 (und nur beim UM2!) am Drucker eingestellt wird, ermöglicht tatsächlich, dass man (theoretisch) das gleiche Ultigcode-File für verschiedene Materialien brauchen kann. Wer aber versucht, ein für PLA 'optimiertes' Objekt mit ABS zu drucken, wird z.B. an den stark blasenden Lüfter keine Freude haben. Man kann aber auch den GCODE-Flavor in Cura für den UM2 umstellen (auf 'RepRap'). Damit arbeiten die UM Original und damit wird auch der UMO+ arbeiten. Von entfernt also keine Spur.

Wenn man die Schrittmotoren gerade noch ständig mit der Hand berühren kann dann bedeutet das eine Temperatur um die 50°C. Das ist für die Schrittmotoren überhaupt kein Problem und völlig normal. Wie hoch ist denn der Schrittmotorstrom eingestellt?

The current is most probably already much too high. IIRC I used not even a qarter of a rotation. If you're unlucky, you already destroyed the driver with the overcurrent (I did this with an UM driver). I recommend you begin from the minimum setting and increase then the current carefully. You have to keep in mind that the DRV8825 can deliver a much higher current than the UM drivers. Changing the steps/mm in the source code is usually neither enough nor necessary. Change the value with the Ulticontroller (Control section) and save it to the EPROM (or with an M92 and a M500 command).

Ok, I kind of sorted it out. I saw that new 14.09 folder. However I had some troubles getting the settings for two machines. machines.ini contains only one machine. I had to copy the preference.ini file from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.07\Cura" to this new folder in order to get it work properly. It's somewhat strange.

I just installed Cura 14.09. As I do not feel the need to setup everything again, I tried the copy-ini-file-procedure... and failed. Cura 14.09 persists on setting up new machines. So my question (mainly to Daid... ): How do I import the settings from Cura 14.07 into 14.09?

Hmmm... thought I answered some time ago to this post... :unsure: The users can order the samples via http://www.3dhubs.com/ultimaker. However, I think it's not very attractive (I didn't receive one order so far, has anybody else?)

Except for about the last minute of the print where the UM2 shows something like 6 hours...

Hallo Dirtsen Willkommen im UM-Forum! Nein, die Probleme habe ich zum Glück mit PLA nicht. Aber das BioFila-Filament wartet ja bei mir auch noch auf den ersten Einsatz... :???: Ich verwende einen mehrfach um das Filament gewickelten Pfeifenreinigerdraht als Staub- und Dreckblockade. Funktioniert einwandfrei; kann ich empfehlen. Ich würde tatsächlich auch mal vermuten, dass Deine Probleme von Verunreinigungen her kommen; ev. sogar von Abrieb vom Feeder-Gehäuse (ABS). Hast Du schwarze Punkte im Print drin?
