  1. AT-AT Printing Recommendations

Layer height: 0.1mm (for a clean result)*
    Initial layer thickness: 0.3mm
    Bottom/top pattern: lines
Horizontal expansion 0.04mm (when entering 0.04mm index, the 3D printer perceives the model as monolith, i.e. as having no hidden layers).
    Speed setups:
    Infill speed: 50mm/s
    Outer shell speed: 30mm/s
    Inner shell speed: 20mm/s
    Top/Bottom speed: 20mm/s
    Support speed: 50mm/s
    Travel speed: 150mm/s
    Skirt speed: 30 mm/s
    Amount of slower layers: 4
    Infill:
    InfillpPattern: Grid
    Line distance: 3mm
    Infill overlap: 20%
    Infill layers - 0
    Support:
    Enable support: Check
    Placement: Everywhere
    Overhang angle: 30°
    X/Y distance: 0.7mm
    Top distance: 0.2mm
    Bottom distance: 0.2 mm
    Stair step height: 0.5 mm
    Join distance: 0.7 mm
    Area smoothing - 0.6 mm
Use towers: Check. When removing secondary structure, the model remains clean.
    Pattern: Grid
Line distance - 1.5mm (for higher detail fidelity and to avoid object deformation during printing)
    Platform Adhesion:
    Type: Brim
Brim line count: 10 (up to 20, depending on the model’s height)
    All basic settings by default.
    Other recommendations: To make printing faster use layer height - 0.2mm for B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B8, B9, B10, B11, B12, B13, B14, B15, B16, B17, B23, B24, B25, leg parts, as they lack element detail. For other parts use 0.1mm to ensure high printing quality.
    Apply basic settings.

  3. LED Lampshades

I got tired of the old 3D printed lampshades for our self-built LED lighting. So I designed new ones with Ebony woodfill and blue.
Dual extrusion print, two parts: bottom (spiralize mode) and top (wood and blue) with a slit to get the cable through. The woodfill seems to have some air in it, tiny holes and crackling sound during printing.
UPDATE: I played around with extrusion rate and decided to consider the tiny holes as a feature now

  4. ColorFabb Cannon

I designed this just to show off different materials. People always want to see example prints so this way you can also talk about the materials also.
Printed in Corkfill, Bronzefill and nGen Dark Grey.

  8. Zombie Friend

Just a test to try to calibrate my settings to how they worked best for me. I thought my coupler was dying but it was just an end of roll issue before. Only dipped for 25 secs then sprayed, should have gone 35. Oh well next print next time!
I used Citadel Codex White spray paint for those interested, Its one of my favs goes on thin and dries almost instantly. Shame its matte. I have others for a smoother surface finish but they take longer to apply. Ill do a comparison vid about that soon....next year..lol.

Really happy and excited by the potential of special filaments. This was my first print with the woodfill. Worked very nicely overall.

  12. Julia's Dragon

Made entirely of fractals in the Julia Set in one aspect or another. Really kicked me in the heiny as it took a month to print with failures and other issues such as being a 4.5 day long print. Usually would fail at 4 days then the PVA would get too humid and not support the top and got nothing but bunches of spaghetti.
The next to last version did ok, but had a design flaw and could not support the weight of the top flyer. Did redesign and now sturdy.
Varied the density by splitting the model and overlapping areas so that the bottom had more walls and infill and the top part of the flyer had less walls and lower infill to lessen weight. Used 'Per Model Settings" to accomplish it.
Used ColorFabb Leaf Green PLA in standard settings. I did slow the print a bit to reduce stringing. Images are basically untouched as I just trimmed the brim off and pulled a few squirelleys off the leading edges in case of build-up. Did have to trim a few built up parts off as it would curl up and I could hear it whack the printhead nozzle on the print. But it finally printed and after a month of printing, I am finally on a different model.

  19. American Bully

A test sculpt of my friends dog.... still trying to get my UM2 back to spec. Didnt realise the 35W heater needed a PID alteration or something, but hopefully I'll have that sorted and will be back to making near flawless prints. No closeups here because they are not worthy of closeups.

  23. Feeder @ 90° UM2+

    Tada !

  24. Hair test subject

Was going to use this for my galvanising tutorial as I modelled it to be tall and thin so that it fits into my beaker of copper sulphate, but my printer is not working correctly after a refurb effort, Im still currently trying to resolve the yo-yo up and down temperature issue as it causes quite severe lines on the surface of the model even though it looks OK from afar...... not touching the fan base, and sensor appears to be pushed all the way, will fiddle around for a while before I ask for help.....again, lol.
