  1. Hi Les, Sounds very cool! Thanks for sharing. Are you busy teaching this now to others? Sounds like a very cool game, especially the goal of sharing knowledge and teaching others should fall down well here.
  2. Thank you for your post. Lets see to it that you get the help you need so you can happily start your 3D printing adventure It is not completely clear to me from reading your post who you have been talking to. Have you already contacted Ultimaker, or only your reseller? Could you let me know where you bought your Ultimaker 2+ and when? Have you also been in touch with our own customer support department? If so, feel free to send me the details in a DM. I'll make sure someone will get back with you. Thank you for your time and patience. Our apologies that you have not yet received the service you desire. Lets make sure you will
  3. and if she falls over or doesn't walk, have you tried playing around with the angle of the board walk? I noticed it is rather specific.
  4. Ohh Les, giving up is for quiters! You are not a quiter are you?
  5. Thanks! Any interesting developments or innovations that were launched?
  6. Could it be.. that this challenge is too difficult for our community of experts?? .. .. .. .. .. .. is this working? Is anyone feeling challenged now?
  7. We are looking into this as we speak, thanks!
  8. Is this also helpful in your special project?
  9. Just had another look at your photo of the printhead, and the part underneath your PTFE doesn't look like the metal part Ultimaker supplies, does it? Is it from a third party or something? What other parts have you replaced? Your rods also have a black residu on them. Are they smooth? Have you lubricated them frequently? Have you assembled your Ultimaker head according to these guidelines? https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/253-re-assembly Perhaps most tips are basic tips suggested, but there is not a lot of information available to think outside that box. Also, often when a user is slightly more experienced the basics are easily overlooked. Do you have some more photo's of prints? Do you see for example a change in movement where it goes wrong, or is it an extrusion issue for sure?
  10. @Danilius, I believe it was a Dutch guy, so I can imagine it being a more successful story here then abroad. There are some requirements to consider, but the idea is great!
  11. Hi, thank you for your photo's. Your screenshots still don't tell me what printing speed you use. There is a difference between travel speed and printing speed. Travel is while it is not extruding, so crossing a gap from A to B, and print speed is the actual 3D printing. Moving while extruding. You may want to reduce the printing temp to 200º and see how that goes. The letters may come out better if you rotate it so the 'knob' faces forward, so the left fan can cool it better. Good luck!
  12. Hi Ian, don't worry your legacy is still intact ;)The Coffee chat tread is still sticky! (an alternative label for pinned) Why did you think otherwise? The forum is very active still indeed! Obviously things change like UltiArjan suggests. Our support grows, the resource pages become more conclusive and the products become more mature. So the nature of conversation is probably different as when you were last involved :)But still plenty of interesting stuff!
  13. '- No temperature or speed control during the print' Is it only during print or in general? I believe the makerbot 5gen doesn't allow any temp and speed settings does it? I don't understand how this could be an appealing idea, a 3D printer is a versatile machine that should allow you to make things.. not fence of options. Options over limitations!
  14. We're proud to share an updated Ultimaker App with you! It's version 2.0 now. 15. No problem, happy to help I hope you will receive it too very soon so you can continue 3D printing without a worry.
  16. Hey @Ian, good to hear from you again! How have you been? Something interesting you can show that you have 3D printed with NinjaFlex? I also think is pretty exciting but we have to be patient. Whenever we are in a show where it is very hot or moist we need to crank up the temperature, so maybe you have to play around with this?
  17. You mean create more demand? Sounds like a great businessplan!
  18. Hi @George-Saliba, thank you for your post on the forums. Sorry to hear you are still waiting on your Ultimaker 2 Extrusion upgrade. We have published a company update on April 20th about the leadtimes. Follow the link if you want to read more about it, but basically what you are after is this piece: ' From April 20th on the leadtime will be 4-6 weeks and the upcoming 4 weeks we will ship out all existing orders. Get in touch with your reseller if you want more information regarding your order.' This means the leadtime on your order should be 4-6 weeks. If you placed your order on March 15th you should receive it in the upcoming two weeks. If you need any more information feel free to ask to iGo3D or here on the forums and I'll do the best I can to help you
  19. Hi Dennispo, I just talked to our distribution department and they have received your email. They will send you a reply with a request for additional information and you can go from there Thanks!
  20. And perhaps you have to read through the first comments again that were posted to your original question. Your choice on a printer should depend on far more than just surface quality. What is the customer service like, availability of spare parts and how easy can you solve a problem because regardless of which printer you choose.. you will run into some. It is just part of the getting to know a machine journey. About different materials, it certainly depends. ABS is a bit more matt where PLA is a bit more shiny. Shiny usually emphasises the layers a little bit more, doesn't mean the surface quality is less. Also, if I look at the gnome, it looks like there is stringing at the nose and eyes and the top of the ears are also a bit melted. Also, something to think about.. Zortrax launched their Inventure machine a while ago but afaik it is not available yet. When it happens, since you are locked in.. I don't know how long they will continue to support their M200? I don't know the answer to this, but I do know we still support the Ultimaker Original from 4 years back and not all other vendors intend to have this similar customer friendly approach. I was also going to suggest, have a look at @Cloakfiend's prints. Have you checked our our 3D print section? Here is an Ultimaker ABS print. Another super impressive ABS print Exotic materials you can use on an Ultimaker I'm sure you get the picture, have a look at the 3D Print section. But try to focus on more than just the surface quality, you'll notice when you eventually start using it how insignificant it is. You have already established, both offer great surface quality and I guess it depends on the user how much effort he put in getting to know either of the machines which one tops the other one.
  21. Thank you for your feedback. If all images would be at the same place, lets say far right or far left, would that make things better? What about popular print categories? I don't think that a lot of people knew about the option to filter 3D Print section on this categorie and it could be helpful finding inspiration or certain examples. I like this option. Also, having the print featured which has the most likes is some great acknowledgement. But maybe we could do without the forum categories in the drop down menu.
  22. What temperature and speed are you using for the print, and how is it oriented on the bed? Is there a specific reason you used the 0.6mm nozzle?
  23. As always, we are open to suggestions So, what would you prefer? Are any of the distinguished categories unnecessary? Which would you like to see and in which order? Anything completely different? The more info we have the better we can execute it
  24. Hi @Avogra, thank you for your input. Do you know you can also click community? It will guide you to the dashboard from which you can see the latest posts. The notification bell is always there to alert you for new activity in the topics you have decided to follow. Is that helpful? Would you prefer if the dropdown would be: Popular print categories - community areas - forum categories? We are working now on fixing the #unread thing, together with some other fixes and upgrades to the community platform. We'll look into your other feedback, thanks!
