  1. You can copy the local files found in the help -> local configuration folder. That should work.
  2. Well... required.. That makes it sound so mercenary. Let's just say that it wont hurt the odds of it getting done
  3. I might make a pull request for that some of these days. It's not that hard to fix. Ultimaker doesn't see it as a priority.
  4. Eeh. Not really. I kinda dislike Asana.
  5. As for the name; The best other name we could come up with is Drafty McDraftFace. So yeah, It's probably best if some of you can come up with something better
  6. Initial layer height is actually to improve adhesion (as you slightly over extrude, making it stick better). Glass plates are not that flat. I seem to recall that they are +-0.1 mm, which is why we use 0.3 for the first layer. As for what the engine does with those settings; I don't have a good view on that. I've had decent results with increasing brim or using raft. Another thing I tend to do is to use concentric fill for bottom layer.
  7. Could be a lot of things. All non-um definitions & profiles are contributed by third parties, so the quality will vary. My best guess is that there is a issue with the provided profile(s) which causes the issue.
  8. Not that I'm aware of. I'd love to see them as well!
  9. I think you are trying to print a build material with a support core.
  10. A few of our servers were down last weekend. I'm guessing that that is what caused this.
  11. It's online now. I don't know what went wrong though.
  12. I think your issue is just a visual one. We put certain things a bit above the bed to prevent "z-fighting".
  13. Uh. It should work. But you should contact monoprice to start hosting their own mirror instead of using ours
  14. Stuff needs to be hosted somewhere You could always run Cura from source. No more surveys and always the latest version!
  15. There was a bug with this, which should be fixed for the 2.5 release. I expect a beta of that to be out soon.
  16. The grey areas are areas where no objects can be placed. If you do so, Cura will mark them as unprintable (the striped grey markings) and won't slice them.
  17. Oh far from it. But we don't really support USB slicing. It's possible to get it to work, but it will probably need some attention from a software engineer to get it to work. But as I've mentioned quite a few times already; you can't expect Ultimaker to fix things for other 3D printers.
  18. Are you using Cura 2.4? If so, there is a special per-object setting called "anti-overhang mesh". The intersection of a printed object with an object that has the anti-overhang mesh property won't have support. It's not an ideal interface just yet, but we wanted to get the functionality out there already (instead of waiting until we have a fully perfect bit of funcitonality). This is also why it's kind of hidden.
  19. No, we need the diversity. Healthy competition promotes better software, and is ultimately better for the end user. Being the single "best" at something promotes complacency. Simplify 3d is sometimes seen as an example of this; it *was* clearly the best slicer option a year or so ago. (ducks for cover for the ensuing fanboy war) We look at quite a few other slicers & 3D printers to see what they did well / bad. So having some competition is a good thing, even though it does mean that certain things get re-implemented. In some cases it's even good that something gets re-implemented, because you can occasionally find a much better way of doing the same thing. Improving on something that's already there tends to suffer from moving towards a local maximum.
  20. I think it is possible to tie it to a domain. The nuance here is that we don't support it out of the box. The printer runs on Linux. We did add a "dev-mode" to the machine which gives you full access to the OS by means of SSH. But this is not for the faint of heart / non tech savvy. You will need a fair bit of knowledge to get it working.
  21. Are you very sure that both models were exported? Did you try to see what happens if you import the model in another program?
  22. Lol. Yeah, we should really add a better way to do it some day, but USB printing just isn't important for UM printers.
