  1. Yeah not sure what's going on there. Yes I would recommend looking at 3d solex or one of there on sellers as you can also get the I2k or new coupler I2k set that can handle 300deg. 3d solex does have a nozzle pack that you can buy but you may end up with two 0.4mm nozzles, not a bad thing as you just use one for a different material.
  2. Yeah I did want to play around more but I just don't have the time. I stayed up to 3 am just to put together what I did.
  3. I replaced the glass with some custom wood. I did try on a piece of aluminium and it didn't effect it, so if it burns through it should be fine.
  4. Here is an example Cut. Its very fine and it cut out all the tiny squares which pushed out with ease.
  5. Yep, Cut better then I thought it would. Assembly was a bit rough though
  6. Well Seeing I cant win, I kinda broke the rules. I laser cut one out of balsa wood
  7. The green dot means you are online. You will find your bookmarks under your user account. Just click your user name on top right and bookmarks in drop down menu.
  8. Yes, when I get time I will post some cuttings
  9. I got it from J Tech Photonics I got the Kitset that comes with driver, laser and glasses. Its a bit expensive especially for me with shipping and customs charges, but I have Had a lot of 3D hubs jobs lately that payed for it. I turned up the heat-sink myself and printed the holder. Its using a 30x30mm 5v sunon cooling fan connected to the hotend rear fan. Although the driver has fan output. The driver is easy to connect and has instructions on how to connect it to UM2 and UM0. I used the Fan output to control the laser and it has PWM to be able to adjust the laser power via gcode fan percentage. Im using Inkscape which J Tech provides instruction on how to use it and there is a Gcode plugin to convert images to gcode. I just added some code for the startup and finish. I live alone so only have my eyes to worry about for now and I always use the glasses that came with the kit. But yes I ill be incorporating something a bit better latter on.
  10. I use Diamond age white and it prints really nice.
  11. Looks good. Hope the paint job works out good for you.
  12. Just got my laser up and running today. Quite fun
  13. It changes depending on: print speed, layer height, nozzle width. Will also change if you adjust flow rate.
  14. nGen Is higher the XT ( TG: 85deg ) and easier to print but still not high enough for boiling water.
  15. Love the website. Really talented team. All the best @valcrow
  16. The siren sound the using the change material function is normal. It's what the feeder sounds like at high speed. I don't understand what you mean by singing but wheel not moving.
  17. What cura version are you using?
  18. The best way is to have 2 olsson blocks installed. One side 2.85mm the other 1.75mm. You install tinkergnomes firmware and remove the nozzle on one side while your printing with the other. The kit comes with the correct sized PTFE coupler and smaller hole in the Olsson Block plus bowden tube. You need to buy the 1.75mm nozzles from E3d.
  19. Disconnect the liner bearings off the Z guide rods and slide them up and down by hand. The balls inside might be jamming. PTFE coupler could be a bit deformed making the extrusion erratic
  20. Post any forum related issues Here as it gets looked at by the UM team.
  21. Well in theory this would make the extruder move faster but you would really have to get the settings just right. It would be really easy for it to over extrude. The printer isn't accurate enough at such low microns between the feeder and bed. You get a lot more control at 0.04 and I find the quality much more repeatable and a better finish. If you are wanting to print at those layer heights all the time then I would recommend getting a geared feeder or 1.75mm filament conversion kit or both.
  22. In your answer, what do you mean by angles, compared to overhangs? Perhaps it would make sense to add the dimension you are talking about. Yeah my bad. I use the wrong terms. So angles i mean overhangs like this And overhangs I meant Bridges where the filament spans over a gap of a horizontal plan like this
  23. and they smell great when they print
