Edited by GuestNice! So smooth.
... medicine? How do you use it as a demo as a vet?

It's Pearl White magic (i love that filament).
The purpose of this print is to demo an external fixing system (mostly printed) in case of a fractured jaw bone.
I'm also printing a leg bone to demo the same external fixing system
Haven't posted in a while
Here are a set of Badges for the Global Force movie,
printed in black Colorfabb XT, and hand painted in different versions.
This chrome version has a bit too much paint on it, the spray-can nozzle was terrible.
Edited by GuestSuperb !
I tried printing Tapir fan shroud for the Ultimaker Original.
Overall I am happy with the print but I see some little blobs and stringing.....ideas?

Install the second fan, enable better cooling and print it again?
Install the second fan, enable better cooling and print it again?
Well we haven't found a way to mount a second fan! This was suggested by someone on the forum
What's missing for a second fan? It's pretty easy to do it buy a secod fan (or two new fans same v/amp and carefull not to use more than 200mA) & connect it.
I've had a spool of Colorfabb Woodfill for a while now, but I've been putting off trying it out because I've read so much about how tricky it is to use. I finally decided to give it a shot and was really surprised that I had no trouble at all with it. It looks and feels great. Definitely on my list of favorite filaments now!

So I started this print: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:253934
It really is an amazing model I've wanted to try for a long time
First I ran into some trouble getting the axle to fit in the gears(had to print a scaled down axle to get it working), but on my first real heart piece(dual color trick with pause on z ) I encountered heavy blobbing, something I haven't had before:
First time ColorFabb Red PLA, but other ColorFabb materials never blobbed either.
I turned down the temperature to 190C, but that didn't solve it. I noticed the bed was wiggling up and down, probably due to a 0.2mm zhop when retracting(not sure why I set it to that at some point). I might try to reduce that back to 0.075.
Any other ideas to reduce the blobbing? Post processing will only solve it so far, and I don't have a lot of Red left to experiment with :(
Edited by GuestYou shouldn't need Z hop. You normally get nicer prints with it turned off.
For the Star Wars and/or Boba Fett fans out there ;-)
The model took about 15hours to design using Solidworks
It took roughly 100hours to print. about 1kg of PLA was used
A few hours to post process (LOTS of sanding. A few minutes to paint)
The gun is okay but my real accomplishment is the helmet. Took a whole 6min to convert my popcorn bucket into this beauty. So proud.
In all seriousness, if you want to print your own Boba Fett's EE3 you can follow this link:

Edited by GuestI've been designing my own test pens for a while now.
They feature sleek designs with replaceable ink cartridges (standard BIC pen guts).
This is close to the final design and my first time printing with Woodfill (on UMO+ 0.4mm nozzle).
I'm also attaching my Cura settings in case anyone needs them.
Edit 1: I did 2 "atomic pulls" as soon as it finished printing and the nozzle cleaned easily.

The "Add 3D Print Gallery" button is broken. I tried and I tried..
I made another post by adding an image gallery and it worked, so go ahead and delete this and your post
I have a demo Ultimaker 2+ for a few days, so i decided to do some test prints on it, and i must say i'm not dissappointed!
All prints are with a 0.60mm nozzle and 100 microns layers
They look good
I've a question, why print at 100 microns using the .60 nozzle and not the smaller .40? Is there a benefit doing it this way?
I've an olsson block myself so an just curious.
It's mainly because the Fairphone cases are designed to be printed with 0.60 walls, and that i was too lazy to change the nozzle for yoda and the other prints i did after. I also thought it would be a good test to see if i can get quality prints with a larger nozzle
How do you prevent the case from wobbling if you print it vertically, as i get wobbling if i print to high and too thin, especially near the top?

how about some recent prints? These were printed on a Printrbot Simple Metal Black because my Ultimaker is not purchased yet.
