Hello.

I find your idea very simple and clever.

Can this design only hold one type of camera ?

I would love to see a typical photo taken in your system.. could you show us something ? How the camera lenese focuse on two points and not show the blue outter edge.

That would be cool.

Thank you.

Ian

Here is my camera holder for ocular microscope photography.

I needed to remove some material to make the camera fit and operational.

See

https://www.youmagine.com/designs/camera-holder-for-microscope-ocular-photography

It fits for my compact camera and it is a cheap way to get photos out of a microscope. The quality of the photos are a little less then you can see by the eye but that depends on the camera fine details can not be seen. They are a little better then the camera from the microscope.

Hi Ian,

Here is photo from a dust particle on the glass

DSC00183.thumb.JPG.30d258b0b0e2aec14f89684ae75c0aed.JPG

You don't see the holder at all the lens is very close to the objective. That is why I printed the holder to prevent damage to object or camera in case you bump into the microscope with the camera.

Unfortunately the holder is specific for my Sony camera since there is no standard in the form factor of compact cameras. Focusing is very difficult I use the manual focus since the auto focus is not able to do something. Some camera's can (my previous one could but it took some fiddling around but that one did not survive a ground drop...)

The image quality is a little less then can be seen by the eye but it gets quite useful.

I tried to make images from the specific camera output of the microscope but I am lacking a lens that fits in there so the spot is so small that nothing can be made of it.

I forgot to post a lot of prints lately, but I like this one so here is a lamp shade:

    DSC07544.thumb.JPG.efcbdd35cf6d75d7a91fccff1e936247.JPG

    More details here: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/prints/5051-wireframe-lamp-shade

Nice that the light comes through. Did you print it with a shell thickness of 1?

I noticed with some tests that the light passing through is not proportional to the thickness. More or less, up to 1.2mm (with the white blueish colorfabb) the light passes, with more thickness it's almost stopped. So the parts letting the light passing are here 0.8mm thick, the other ones 2mm thick.

Nice. It asks for more as you know:

    Always two there are...

well I don't know this specie.... but it appears not to have the ability to procreate :)

    Not exactly what I meant...

Haha..he's an eunuch and compensates with a LONG double lightsaber.

Plan is to dress and accessorize with garments made of actual fabric.

Not happy, so reprinting after tuning the UM, and doing a different pose.

Reposed and reprinted with PLA (Sand Scorpion) from Orb Polymer,

    0.06 layer, 0% infill, 1.2mm wall thickness, 60mm speed.

Sliced and printed with minimal support.

Lightly sanded and parts glued. Will give a 2 coats

of filler primer to further hide layer lines.

Hi @Mechaneil, wow some very impressive prints coming from your side!

Did you model of them yourself?

What are you using them for?

Curious to see what they will look like after post processing. I am guessing you are also going to paint them?

Great work, please keep them coming!!

Hi Sander, modelled it using DAZ3d and Zbrush. Head is a rework of this: https://sketchfab.com/models/6c7b7868399c4b7c85d9799823030cc7

And yes this will be painted and accessorized. First of my 1/6th scale SW SITH custom figures. Have Darth Talon and Assaj Ventress in the works already.

Cut the model into 13 parts to get the best print bed orientation and minimize

overhangs, although minimal supports was still used, particularly in

    the hands/fist area.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
