The black box is not pleasant to work with, you always have to move the filament through the menu. With this feeder you can move the filament by hand.

it was the first thing I did on a brand-new Um2Go, and change the feeder on the back (a mirrored version of this one). Oh, and installing the TinkerGnome firmware...

don't worry, it is probably the sound of the z axis, because of the auto levelling. It is gone after a while. You can check this by touching the z axis when you here it, it makes small turns.
-
under the tab 'dual extrusion' there is the option 'enable prime tower'.

Versuche mal Meshlab: (in English) Import Mesh, then Filter -> Remeshing, simplification and reconstruction -> Quadric edge decimation. The default setting halves the value, so doing this multiple times gives you the amount you want.

can the ultimaker 3 print a item like so?
peggyb replied to backstabbin's topic in What have you made
you can make these prints with a single printhead as well. All the different colours have a separate layer, just make pauses to change the filament. An Ultimaker 3 can do 2 colours without the need to pause and change the filament. -
when you are moving and have lots of stuff cramped together, I would go for the box/zip ties thing. When you have lots of space in your car, just put it in the trunk/front- or backseat (use the safety belts to keep it in place)

could the 'ironing' function be of any help? and use another pattern to go over the top surface. (could also make things worse, but if you don't try....) What you achieved already looks great for such a small font!

Here the same, (macbook pro 2110). Worked great. There is no 'resources' in the Application Support-cura.

some other suggestions you could try: Lower the model a little in -Z to be sure the bottom of your model is really flat. Check if the x and y printhead axis are firmly seated in the slider blocks, https://ultimaker.com/en/community/39801-um3-critical-failure-x-x https://ultimaker.com/en/community/49933-um3-x-axis-moves

Problem during printing (Ultimaker Original)
peggyb replied to Max83's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
do you know why the fan doesn't work? Did it work before as it should be? In my situation in both cases (2 different printers) there was a loose fan wire underneath and after readjusting everything worked again. Why or what would you change about the motors? I guess that the motors are loosing steps if they get too hot... -

Can you check if the fan of your electronics on the bottom of the printer is still working? -
3D Letters losing shape when exported
peggyb replied to hampie42's topic in Design for Additive Manufacturing
In SketchUp you have to be careful with the direction of your surfaces, what you see here is that there are some surfaces 'inside out', facing the wrong way, making your model 'not watertight'. Imagine folding a cube with double sided coloured paper, one colour faces outside, the other inside, yours has some mixed up. When you export your model, the software tries to connect all outsides and when some of them are facing the wrong way you get this weird vectors. I am not a SketchUp user so search for this to get it right, there are also export plugins to detect problems. -
Or make your 'cube' very small, like 0.8 x 0.8 mm and the height of your first layer. Then give it a brim in the size that you wish...

The Z motor does not work properly randomly
peggyb replied to swq0603's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
maybe this thread can be helpful: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/23246-z-axis-repeatability-problem -
you could try to do this manually: before resuming the print, lift the white lever of the extruder and push the filament until it hits something. This will undo the retraction before the pause, it seams like the gcode doesn't compensate for this when resuming.

if you have the black feeder on the back, use the UM2 firmware if you have the white feeder on the back, use the UM2+ firmware it is OK to load the (right) firmware again
-
thnx, that did the trick

but the buttons are not working, only at the bottom of the page the link works. (Safari, OSX Sierra)

print doesnt stick to the plate / under extrusion ? UMO
peggyb replied to fvdb's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
Hi, did you throw your printer out of the window yet ? Hope not... is there any progress? is this manual the right one for you? https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/235-assembly can you look at this video and try to extrude some material at the end; -
I have the same issue, but I read somewhere that they are aware of this and working on it. So just wait for that... and yes, it is annoying ...

or you can draw a solid cylinder, o.d. 26.5mm and print only one wall with 0.5 line width in spiralize outer contour mode. You might want to test/adjust a bit to achieve your measurements.
