  1. not sure what you mean, too lazy to check this connection atm... but basically just disconnect all plugs that are in the "black sleeve" of the old head + the feeder motor (E) , and connect all plugs in the new kit, according to the manual and you should be fine....
  2. not sure what kind of form futura you use, but there easyfill abs has an advised temp of 220-270c. With the layer hight and speed you use I think you need to go much hotter. Also closing your machine and lowering fan will help. https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker2-top-cover-clips https://www.youmagine.com/designs/um2-minimalist-front-panel
  3. Can you share a bit more of your setup? and the settings you use? and the cura version?
  4. First flex print with the upgraded feeder, makerpoint MP45, it's a semi flexible, not like ninja flex.. prints fine; speed 25 mm/s, 245c bed 65c.
  5. Oh.. if you really need to do long production runs of these you can also change the fan shroud to one sitting a bit higher...
  6. If the items were really so low they would fit under the fan shroud you could change the head dimensions in the machine settings of cura to make cura believe the head is smaller..... but it's a dangerous approach. If you want to do it for a specific job I would recommend adding a new printer to cura and give it a specific name otherwise you'll probably make the mistake of using it on other jobs and crash the head into the print.
  7. Just checked (win10) with 3 random objects, I can't replicate it, one-at-a-time working fine for me. No idea what your issue can be.
  8. Ok lets take a step back. Did you do the test @gr5 described in his first reaction? Lets first determine (if it's hardware) if it's the feeder or the hot-end causing issues. If I had to bet I would guess the hot-end but do the test gr5 describes. Another thing I would do, and takes only a few minutes is reinstall the firmware. Do a factory reset first, then install using cura 15.04.5. Make sure you have the correct printer selected. I'm using the latest @tinkergnome again since yesterday, version 16.03.1 , works great for me. https://github.com/TinkerGnome/Ultimaker2Marlin/releases And to prove my results after the upgrade are good (though printed a little to hot....) UM2+ upgrade, 210c, bed60c, cura 15.04.5, speed 30, fan full on at 2.5mm, 0.1 layer, labern fanholder. and here; https://ultimaker.com/en/community/6436-a-tougher-extrusion-test-o?page=1&sort=#reply-143035
  9. Never did try this one before, but with the 2+ upgrade kit installed I thought let's see how the new feeder will cope used 230c until 14mm/s, then turned in up to 240c. Pretty amazing when you know it's also almost the last filament on the spool with a lot of tension in it... Although these are crazy speeds to use with a 0.4 nozzle, it's nice to know the feeder can cope with a lot of volume when you're doing stuff like vases with the 0.8
  10. And you did play with the temperature? According to UM there was a wide variance in the old PT100's (temp sensor) so there can be a significant difference in the printing temperature you need. Although I don't see it myself. Before the upgrade I had issues with top layers not properly closing (gaps between lines) after the upgrade I have very good surface quality. Did some pla test yesterday at 200c and 210c both nice, even though I deliberately used an almost finished spool of PLA, which used to be difficult to print due to the extra tension in the material.
  11. So it says to remove the print at 35c. Interesting as this seems difficult to me. At least with XT I often had to put my glass in the fridge to get the print off.
  12. yeah... @SandervG can you share an assembly instruction for the + head and (the dimensions of) the spacer tool used? People will have to take there head appart someday... even if the new teflon is better...
  13. I installed 16.3.1 yesterday and everything seems to be ok
  14. Just upgraded to tinker 16.3.1 on the upgraded machine myself. Will test some later today. What slicer / wall thickness did you use?
  15. I'm pretty sure the new feeder has been tested by um for a looooong time.... I suspect there's an issue with the + version of tinker 16.3. Seemed to me my fans never came to full speed so I also went back to the Ultimaker 2+ firmware. I'll just wait until tinkergnome finds the time to have a look at it....
  16. do you know there shipping rates if I only order 1 spool? seems to be missing on there site...
  17. Hmmm, changing the feeder of the UM2+ to a printed UM2 feeder is not that easy, you need a different stepper motor, like the one in the UM2, the one in the 2+ is different and itr has the gear attached, don't think you want to remove that.... Did you check the obvious? remove boden from the head, heat the nozzle, push in some PLA manually? do atomic puls? did you open the 2+ feeder housing to see if there's anything wrong in there? did you try to move filament? is it loading/unloading fillament ok? Are you sure you have a underextrusion issue and not a cooling issue? What firmware are you using?
  18. A shift usually indicates a loose pulley, check all, tighten the screws including the ones on your x/y motor. You need to allign the axis again if you had a loose pully, there's a chapter in this upgrade manual on how to do this... but you need two small printed tools so you probably just want to tighten stuff and then print the align tools for use later.... https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/19641-installing-the-extrusion-upgrade-kit https://www.youmagine.com/designs/axis-aligner
  19. You will have to take of the feeder, think this guide can help you; http://support.3dverkstan.se/article/64-disassembly-of-the-ultimaker-2-plus-feeder
  20. to be honest I don't know... but when it happens at the first movement my first thought is to check cables and connectors from the sensor and heater. Another thought is that the sudden extra power consumption may have something to do with it? just thinking out lout...
  21. sensor : 108 ohm (varying at bit with the room temp, 108 is around 20c) bed: 3.8 ohm
  22. When I search "information during print" it also does not find anything relevant. Is searching for an exact string, using brackets, not implemented ? When I google "information during print" + ultimaker, the correct forum post is the first in the list...
