Neotko sorry this might be off topic But I was just about to ask a question on S3d and that is does the second extruder switch off after it has done its job,,, I was about to manually edit the Gcode and switch it off.. but thought I would ask the question first..

Found a video on You Tube Dealing with calibrating the extruder and wanted some advise,, they are using a command line in Octo Print is there a better way to do this ie.software Could? Cura Do this, or should I use Octo Print.. I'm wanting to check to see what exactly is happening.

Been reading about the Ruby Nozzle and how good it is at printing overhangs,, are these commercially available?? I thought I saw a thread saying ColourFab were selling them???

Yes I have the alloy parts as well, also the 3 plastic parts which I guess you don't need.... looks like I'm good to go. When the mod is available I'm interested?.. thanks for the replies

Thanks for the Reply That said, I have 2 Bondtech's - 2 3D Solex matchless blocks and nozzles and a spare Bowden.. I also have Spare Fans (3) and a Spare Fan Shroud?? All I would need then is another Heater 35w and a temps Probe. Correct???

Could someone enlighten me if possible, Before my UM2 goes, could I use the two Bondtech's I have (1fitted) (1spare) with this mod, I believe TinkerGnome I think is supplying the firmware... Just checking before I let the Printer go. if it is compatible I'm keeping it......

Yeh I complained about the upgrade kit (and rightly so) and yes, I have had problems, but the idea of moving the printer to Foehnsturm's Mod interests me, my UM2 is on ebay and I am getting disillusioned by idiots who want it for nothing. Time to pull the Add and keep the UM2 and mod it,, (Happy Days) SandervG you gave me some sound advise at the London 3D print show a couple of yrs back, I never forgot (thanks).

I Like Le Pauls point of view, the boffins will always go forward but other people know matter what there level of expertise will look at the UM3 and other printers and evaluate the machine on its merits and if it has Bed Levelling and it works then its a plus.

Mmm Heavily Modified Bnc Sigma - Running two Bondtechs - materials mounted outside the box and S3D I am just ordering the Flexi Plates from Build Tak (how are you getting on with them) But I am now considering Keeping the UM2 and moding it with Foehnstrum's dual head Mod considering the amount of spare I have.... Ob Blocks fans and fan shrouds...

Selling My UM2 learnt a lot and enjoyed the forum (I'm not leaving that) selling up and moving to the Dark Side,,, will wait 6 or 7 months and then look at the UM3

MMMMMMMMmmmm worst night mare,, I thought but really hoped this wasn't the case, that means if I want to change the lead screw disassembling the stepper motor, and turning the end of the lead screw down is the option,,,, I take it the stepper motors disassemble OK.

Could anyone answer this question before I start stripping the Printer,, I'm wanting to take the lead screw apart, I looked on GitHub and found the schematic of the UM2 but don't understand how the lead screw is attached to the stepper Motor,, is it one machined piece, which I find it hard to believe, if not it must have a connection... Thanks in advance for any Help....

Sorry to hear of your problems, I too had a cracked plastic head,, but my problem could of come from trapped wires on the Z axis as when I plugged it inform new !!! the head crashed into the glass.. But enough of that, I feel your pain BUT I honestly think that if you had got a Chinese clone your pain would have been a lot worse, I would take a Philosophical view and where it has hurt you in the wallet now, it will arm you much more for the Future if you think of buying a new Machine. I know that not much comfort, but believe me I have also felt the pain....

Really Like the Concept might get around to trying it when time allows.

this might be off topic but is it possible to upload a file (not a jpg) so in that particular thread, anyone who is helping can download that file say GCode or a zip file.

The Sigma I looked at was about 6months Old I could see the cooling fans for the print head might get a switch off while idle through firmware, that just leaves the one cooling the motherboard which I doubt they will turn off.
