  1. Not at the moment as far as I know. Cura would have to pass the model name over to the plugin. Daid might prove me wrong.
  2. The plugin runs before you save the file. Therefore it cannot know the final filename. The only thing it can know is the name of the temporary file created by Cura and handed over to the plugin.
  3. Thanks. Your information agrees with another (non-official) information I got in the meantime.
  4. Es gibt ziemlich abrasives Filament. Mit was ausser Standard PLA hast Du denn so gedruckt?
  5. The UM2 dual extrusion is dead... long live the UM2 dual extrusion! This might be a solution for the tinkerers among you: What is needed for the dual extrusion? A complete UM2 hotend -> available in the UM store A Bowden tube -> available in the UM store (officially for the UMO, but it seems to work for the UM2 as well) A Feeder including the motor -> currently not available in the UM store but the specs are available on Github; and there are alternative feeder designs... means: print it. a new firmware: download it at Github, set EXTRUDERS to 2 and compile it! So except the feeder parts everything is available. And for the missing parts, it might be worth watching the spare parts section of the UM store for the time coming... (you know, some little birds tweet also during the winter... ) However, this would bring the difficulties with it that UM was facing when they started with the UM2 dual extrusion. But remember that dual prints with PLA were actually not a problem...(check the forum, there was an information some time ago about this). And PVA can be printed at even lower temperatures...
  6. Hi Kroete Welcome to the UM forum. The GO has no heated bed. Due to the CE conformity there will most probably no upgrade for any printer of the UM2 family. And only UM knows (maybe) the answer to your last question. But they wont tell.
  7. I fear you misunderstood the different concepts of the UMO and the UM2. The UMO is a tinkerer machine. That's why it gets upgrade kits and always will. The UM2 on the other hand is a plug-n-print machine for consumers who are anything but not tinkerers. It has a CE conformity. That means the consumer is not allowed to make any changes unless he wants to void that ('safety') label. I guess you could count the numbers of users here in this forum who would be allowed to do upgrades on a UM2 without to void the CE label on one or two hands.
  8. As I understand it the development was not for nothing. It may be used for a completely new machine; most probably a machine which comes as a dual extruder machine right from the start. But only when the guys at Geldermalsen think it is ready. The key to a successful dual or multi extruder system is most probably the development of a retractable hotend (i.e. the hotend itself is lifted by something like a millimeter; as e.g. Foehnsturm has built for his UMO). I still see some chance to get the dual extrusion running properly on the UMO as the hotend there has some significant length change at temperature changes. If I only had more time I would immediately start working on the dual extrusion again.
  9. Put your printer onto 3DHubs, get a 5% discount instantly, print a Marvin and get a 10% discount on Colorfabb...
  10. I think to remember Daid having tested a driver like this one and having mentioned the far future of Ultimaker...
  11. It might be some flipped normals or some polygons standing strange... obviously something Netfabb cannot repair. What does it look like in the layer view of Cura?
  12. You can have a second source for each component. That's how the big companies do it.
  13. I recommend you install an easy to reach external switch on the AC side of the power supply. It's any way better to switch the power on the primary side as the PSU itself also draws power if the printer is switched off. And the current is much lower on the AC side.
  14. So far I had it on at the second layer but maybe it's better a bit higher up. You will have to try...
  15. I had my issues too with red XT. I think the only recipes are: hotter or slower. Fan is needed but only about half.
  16. Not yet... The plugins have to be installed in the 'plugins' subfolder of the Cura installation path, not the user settings path. On Windows the installation path is something like 'C:Program files (x86)Cura_1x.xx' and the user settings path something like 'c:usersYourUserName.cura'
  17. Maybe find some other Ultimaker users to order together? I do this in Switzerland.
  18. Nice document! Maybe you want to change the link to the Rectract While Combing plugin to https://github.com/Dim3nsioneer/Cura-Plugins/wiki/Retract-While-Combing-plugin. The Ultimaker Wiki is not anymore editable and there will be a new version of the Retract While Combing plugin soon. Finally the link should point to the new plugin repository on Youmagine (there you might now more about the time schedule than me).
  19. In this case it's time to ask your friend again...
  20. Agreed. But I want to follow the gcode as closely as possible. It's bad enough that Cura (still) has a different numbering in the gcode and in the layer view of the GUI. btw: the layer view still counts through all the layers and does not restart at 1 (which should be 0) for a new object...
  21. Die dritte Sammelbestellung Schweiz findet jetzt statt. Wer noch nicht dabei ist und noch aufspringen möchte hat dazu noch bis Freitagabend (23.01.15) Zeit.
  22. I made this test with XT from 2013; at 65°C. There was no color change. However, it is rumored that clear XT gets a bit more opaque when washed at 70°C.
  23. I see. This would have worked with older Cura versions. I don't know when it was changed from unique layer numbering to repeated layer numbering. So you would have to put in 50 now to get the result; however, you would get it on both objects. I would consider to implement a object number selection as soon as Cura saves that object number. I don't want to introduce a numbering which Cura doesn't support.
