  1. If it's really important you can ofc also save a version of the gcode.... and/or keep a version of cura... For this it would be nice if new version would create new data folders to run multiple version next to each other...
  2. Actually changing to RepRap gcode could be a good thing for the mark2 IMHO, I like to have an experience close to the UM3, so including setting temp in Cura, and ignoring material profiles on the machine. I think getting the benefits of the temp control is anyhow worth it to move to RepRap (unless there are more disadvantages I don't see atm)
  3. Basically making CURA useless for the Mark2? Let's just hope this is by accident... any easy way to repair it?
  4. It was Friday evening, I wasn't thinking straight... I made a copy of the "progam files" folder, but not the "users" folder...
  5. So after being away for 2 days I just start 2.3 to find out all my (custom)machines and profiles are gone, it starts like a first boot ...... needless to say the hole shared folder structure is making me a tiny bit unhappy now. When I look into C:\Users\Awin7\AppData\Local\cura I do see some references to my machines like in "machine instances" Any tips on how to restore my machines and profiles if possible at all ???
  6. And what really adds to the confusion, and possibly people claiming no issue at all with PLA is E3D selling totally different hot ends all under the E3D-V6 name, (picture from E3D website) versions with and without PTFE liner.
  7. Yes. Finally Google!! And it works <3
  8. For me it's the nr1 request regarding dual extrusion... would it be possible just to add the red indicator if the brim is overlapping with the model?
  9. Though I think the open tower might be a good idea, I'm suspecting it will increase failure without a brim, so if setting a separate brim for tower only is not available, you're basically forced to always use a brim when doing dual extrusion....
  10. first reaction after a quick try; After installation it looks like all printers are gone, i add an UM3, then find out I have 2x an UM3, and my UM2+ is also still there, but my custom printer (Mark2) is gone.` Tried the "save project" (in my top3 of wanted features...) but it seems to safe ONLY the model on the buildplate, It seems to NOT save any info on nozzle size, profile, profile changes ..... this can't be right I hope ??? Cura seems very slow in the GUI reaction, much slower than 2.3 (maybe specifically after an object is multiplied...?) Cura takes over keyboard focus, my sceencapture program does not work (seems reintroduction of an old issue) The gui communication is still incoherent on profile changing, change fron one profile to another and it's telling me "do you want to transfer your 14 changed settings bla bla ..." but I did not change 14 settings.... just changing from one profile to another. Looks like there's no option added to set brim on the Wipe tower, but not on the Item :( or am i missing something ?
  11. Impressive list, sounds very good, let's give it a try <3
  12. Nee.
Was in mijn geval (fritzbox) super eenvoudig. https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneyeos/wiki https://github.com/Motion-Project/motion/releases
  14. WOW this reads like a E3D commercial ..... My short reaction, as before... Unless you need real high temperatures the ED3V6 is a downgrade compared to the Olson block, as changing nozzles is a (IMHO) real pain in the @$$ compared to the Olson. Also the V6 (the 3mm bowden version) is not nice with PLA. If you want to try it... I still have a V6 laying around, you can have it for free if you want to try... I don't use it anymore (I used it dedicated for ABS, but I now have the UM3 for that) Replacing the feeder is a good idea if you still have the old black feeder on the UM2. The titan can be a good option, I never tried it, the UM2 plus feeder is a good option (you can buy it separately if you ask any UM reseller) And ofc there's the bondtech, so plenty options for good feeders.
  15. I agree. This has been reported also during the beta testing period so I hope it's on the developers list, but my guess is it's probably not in the top of the list. @SandervG any idea when we'll see a next firmware release?
  16. FYI, You know you can print dual color on your UM3 or adapted UM2, you know you can print parts of your print with a different surface (fuzzy skin), but did you know you can also combine this.... Here's how, if you know how to setup dual printing in CURA it's pretty simple. You need a model split in 4 STL's (or more ofc) Just like with normal dual extrusion; - load all models - select all - merge models Set nozzle per part of the model (is color/material) -Select a part of the model (Ctrl+click) -Select "print model with", set the extruder to use Set the part with the "fuzzy skin" -Select a part of the model (Ctrl+click) -Select "settings" and mark the "fuzzy skin" option Oh, and just to be sure, as IMHO the implementation of setting alternative settings on the same extruder is not the most clear in the CURA gui, make sure NOT to select "fuzzy skin" also on the "general extruder level" as in this case you'll overrule everything and ser it for all parts printed with this extruder... And ofc there are nicer files to print than the test file I used, but there are not much models out there in 3 or more parts. @flowalistik published a few, but also most of his other dual extruder files are pretty easy to split into more parts using f.e. meshmixer. here's a sample .. here's the file; https://www.youmagine.com/flowalistik/designs
  17. There will be many new prime tower feature's in Cura 2.4 the word is it should be released in Jan.17 Let's hope this will be part of it... It should also have a less massif tower and the ability to turn on brim for the tower only.... and hopefully many more ....
  18. yep... yours looks better in bronzefill the matte is more suitable ...
  19. 0.4 2 channel ?? think thats only with the bigger sizes.... I'm using his 'old' jet nozzles, think they are also smoother inside, not with the little edge on the inside like on the AA.
  20. And 'nozzle wise' I guess a 3Dsolex Jet nozzle has more resemblance with a BB core than f.e. an E3D nozzle.
  21. Think the answer is yes, you can go higher than 100c, but I never heard anybody doing 120c. But NO IDEA IF IT'S SAFE, nor any idea what it'll do to the life expectancy of the bed. I never use higher than 95c (ABS) as even reaching 100c takes ages, even enclosed. To change the max setting, use the tinker firmware; https://ultimaker.com/en/community/20279-max-bed-temperature-limit-changed-lowered-after-extrusion-kit-upgrade-firmware-was-installed-on-um2 edit: changed 195c to 95c ....
  22. Do i understand you correctly that you try to merge a blank tile (with no letter cut out) with a letter? I think it's logical that in this case cura will print double on the overlap. I think the best and most accurate way to do this thing is to create 2 stl's for each tile, one with the letter and one with the tile that has the letter cut out. Set the right depth and position already in CAD, so you don't need to fiddle with the Z height in Cura, this way you get consistent quality.
