  1. Thank you bob for the feedback. (Un)fortunately, it has nothing to do with your browser. This problem lies on our side/site. It had to do with the DNS configuration that went bad after the migration. The team is aware of it, and are working on a solution. The estimation was that it should be fixed around these days, sooner the better. If you log out, close the tab, and reopen it you should be 'just logged out'. But ofcourse, this work around should not be necessary. Our apologies for the inconvenience! @nilrog, I can't even load that page. It takes over 60 seconds. But the rest of the site loads in around 2/3 seconds. Hopefully, I will have some good news to share with you all soon.. (!)
  3. There are some people who use S3D to their satisfaction, but it is a third party slicer so perhaps it is not the ideal way to start. Have you tried using Cura? It is very likely that the issue you are experiencing is caused by the slicer, and not by your hardware. Regarding the detection, are you sure the cables are fully inserted? Try to move the filament around on the spool and see if this triggers a detection. Good luck!
  4. I will have to pass this question on to one of the developers; @ghostkeeper, @nallath, is there something we can do so we don't bother @lepaul's anti-virus software?
  5. Keep us posted, and perhaps you also want to check in with @Korneel who had great success printing PetG on his Ultimaker 3's.
  6. Well the spamers maybe too... I'm laughing but I'm crying..
  7. ah yes, the total amount of including areas the nozzles can't reach may be a little bit higher. My initial answer was triggered by your comment mentioning docking the second head. The full loss might be slightly higher. I think @foehnsturm would be best to answer it. In this case, even though Foehnsturm had the original idea and the biggest stake in the development, the final 'product' is developed by multiple (knowledgeable!) people from the community. I don't know what your usual sized prints are so I can't say if the loss in build volume is acceptable or not, however, you also gain a lot of functionality by being able to print with 2 materials. And single extrusion will stay the same, cause it is fairly easy to park the head outside of the frame. (meaning, with a single print you don't loose any build volume). But in the end, it is a trade-off. You gain some, you lose some.
  8. Between those 2, and I can't think of a great third option right away, hands down Mark 2. It is cost efficient, seems reliable and users seem to really like it. The amount of space you loose in the build volume seems to be like 0,5 or 1cm. I would suggest to roam these forums for user experiences on both of these options, and I think the answer will become clear quite quickly.
  9. Some basic things, have you cleaned the bed? (properly, possibly with alcohol?) Have you flipped the bed, or tried to print on both sides? Is your front fan still working on your print head? Outside of a loose cable, if there would be small strings of filament in there, it could also block the blades. Is the silicone pad still in place, at the bottom of your printhead? Do you have some photo's of what you first layers look like? Have you tried the adhesion sheets for extra adhesion? (you can find them here) Has the 'taking too long to heat up' error appeared once, or frequently? Perhaps you want to check out this thread Looking forward hearing from you!
  10. I think this is a pretty amazing development. It does not happen often when you are surrounded and exposed to 3D printers and their outputs on a daily basis that you make this 'whooaaaaa' sound, just like when you saw a 3D print(er) for the first time. Many kudos to @Bagel-orb ( Who is going to give this a try? What would you like to try/see?
  11. Me too.. but we haven't figured out why. It looks like there is just no link. By the way, I usually just open the link incognito, which also works and is faster. Do you have similar behavior on other parts of the site? (send me a DM with info if you want, so we don't derail this conversation about Cura)
  12. Do you mean testing our products (materials, hardware, software, how it all works together, and work with new things), or certifications like CE? Those are 2 quite different..
  13. Thanks everyone for your feedback, you have been a great help!! Today we launched Cura 2.7 Beta, so this thread will be closed. Check out this post if you want to know more about what latest features we have prepared for you
  14. Cura 2.7 beta is here, and if you are interested in trying out the latest features, at the same time you can help us test it. Before we release a beta version we do some testing ourselves as well, but not until it has been in the hands of our users we can say it is ready for a stable launch. Therefore, if you are working on an important project, we recommend that you use the latest stable version of Cura. Do you feel adventurous, and are you eager to check what we have in stock for you? Join us and take these new features out for a spin. We appreciate any feedback you have for us after using Cura 2.7 beta in this thread below. Our software developers are monitoring this page so you can talk right to the source. Here is what Cura 2.7 beta has in stock for you, and I’ll start with my personal favorites: - Top surface skin Sometimes we need rigid prints that will outlive everything we throw at them. But other times they just need to look pretty. In that case, with this new feature you can print fast and take your time on that last layer to make it look extra nice. - Ironing (a.k.a. Neosanding) Following smooth surfaces, we have also included a feature which originally was introduced by @Neotko. By allowing a heated nozzle to travel over your top layer with a reduced extrusion of 10%, you can create an extra smooth finish. Still experimental though, but very interesting! - Extruder per feature This feature will allow you to assign print features (like walls, infill, skin, etc) to one of your print cores (nozzle). This means you can print certain parts of your model with a specific nozzle (size). Think about combinations like a detailed outer wall and fast infill or super smooth top layers. Even though I always like the fresh 'white' look we hold onto, we realize this may be heavy on the eyes when you have to look at your screen during long hours. Check out our new dark theme for Cura and let us know what you think! Do you want to read more about Cura 2.7 beta before giving it a try? Here is our blog post with a more elaborated list of new functionality and improved features (and pictures!). Ready to give it a try? Download Cura 2.7 beta here. If you rather prefer the latest stable version, Cura 2.6 can be downloaded right here! Please let us know what you think below, and help us improve Cura 2.7 beta and fix any bugs we may have overlooked. Thank you for your help, together we can make it even better!
  15. I'll start with introducing myself, perhaps that would set the proper example ;)I'm Sander van Geelen, the community manager at Ultimaker. Basically, it means I look after you guys. I try to make this a healthy, fun and growing environment where you can even learn something on occasion. You should be able to learn everything about Ultimaker in our community of experts! So if you have any questions or feedback, make sure to reach out to me. You can either tag me (@username) or send me a DM. For Ultimaker I also design our booths for the shows we go to. I've started working for Ultimaker in 2011, from back in the days where we shipped a dozen of Ultimaker Originals per week. Laser cutting the frames and making the drive bolts ourselves. It was an awesome time, times have definitely changed, but Ultimaker has always remained to be awesome! mmmm.. I know things! For example.. 3D printing, and will probably be able to help troubleshoot left and right. On a more personal note, I have a background in illustrating so in my spare time, I still like to draw. And I like gif's.
  16. But @Nicolinux, you know you can always ask me anything haha oh boy, ok. I'll add it to the list
  17. Noted! Thank you for your input I also thought about one of the founders, but I was thinking to work up to that
  18. Outside of the great help you can get from our user experts, there is a fair chance either me or one of my colleagues reaches out with a helping hand as well. We all like to get involved and there is a lot we can all learn from each other. How can you recognize these fortunate people that pop up with their fancy titles? Outside of the seemingly infinite knowledge, you can recognize Ultimaker people by the 'Team Ultimaker' title under their user name. In this post, I would like to invite my colleagues to introduce themselves and write a few words about their expertise. And in the end, we all get to know each other a little bit better
  19. Let us know who, or about what topic, you would like to ask questions during one of our next AMA's (Ask Me Anything)! Below I will post links to our previous AMA's October 31st: - New: Abrasive Materials: Owens Corning - XSTRAND™. - I'm a Material Engineer for Ultimaker since 2015. AMA! - We are part of the Cura team. AMA! - Quality Control and Assembly AMA If you are not familiar with the concept, during an ‘AMA/Ask Me Anything’ someone steps forward for around an hour or so to answer any question you fire. Usually, this person has a specific level of expertise or story which is interesting to know more about. But don't let this limit your questions 🙂 I do feel obliged to mention, despite the fact it is called an ‘Ask Me Anything’, we are bound by Ultimaker policy to keep a tight lip regarding future products. Hope you understand! Suggested topics are: - Quality Control & Manufacturing - Cura Software - Embedded; Cura Connect or S5 touch screen software - team. - Ultimaker founder - Support-team - Distribution-team - Materials team - Community Manager - Electronics - Testing - Industry experts/artists (from within the community, like @valcrow, @Stefania Dinea or @SteveCox3D) - Industry experts; materials. Owens Corning. I'm looking forward to read any comments who you would like to see next time, or what topic it should be!
  20. It would probably indeed reduce print time, and I can imagine it could also improve some surfaces. If you want to print very fine details, printing them at around 45º would probably help, but in this case with this large surface that would probably not be a viable solution. But in case you ever need to print something smaller, keep it in mind
  21. Hi @pbackx, looks like a big improvement, congratulations! Did you end up turning the knobs manually, or did you insert some additional gcode? Why did you choose one over the other? Thanks!
  22. Hi Markwal, thank you for your reply and for your trust in Ultimaker I don't think we are having trouble, but that does not mean there isn't a lot of untouched potential out there. This relicensing should help us grow more and make Cura even a stronger and better slicing tool for everyone.
  23. I got them since yesterday (dunno if it was all, but at least some). @Neotko, you got none? @kmanstudios, did you get more emails today? We fixed the bug yesterday, and there were quite a few emails pending from notifications which were not sent. The server could decide not to send out all pending emails at once, to prevent them from being blacklisted by sending email in bulk (could raise some flags). Perhaps it will be a few days before everything is up to date again, and any delay is gone. If you have any details, so many notifications - so many emails, let me know so I can give more specific feedback to our dev's. Thanks!
  24. Hi @kmanstudios, thank you for your message. hmm, that doesn't sound right. The day of the server migration we had email issues for one day, but that was resolved. Let me see if I can detect any oddities in the emails that were sent. Can you elaborate on your experience a little bit more? Do you not get any notifications at all? During one day, since a couple of days? Thanks!
